I donโ€™t know when Iโ€™m due, Iโ€™ve not had a period since DS was born but I got 1-2 weeks on a Clearblue digi this morning which puts me sometime late October or early November (I think!)
Feels like Iโ€™m too far behind the October group but too early for a November oneโ€ฆ anyone due a similar time and want to join me? Would love to have some company ๐Ÿ˜Š

Thanks @GodspeedJune and @lilyj13

@Annny27 I was given a booklet when I was told to return in a week. The week isnโ€™t up until Wednesday but I think itโ€™s passed. I am feeling increasingly sick though which is a bit of a worry.

Springtime22 · 14/03/2022 22:23

@Annny27 I'm with you on that one, in a constant state of nausea and feeling starving, sometimes it's hard to differentiate between the two!

Jfb23 · 15/03/2022 07:12

I'm feeling a bit meh today. Had a bit of spotting yesterday with cramping and still feel crampy today. No spotting yet this morning but lots of discharge. I know spotting can be normal but it's the cramps on top that are worrying me. I can't help but feel like this is bad news. I'm supposed to go up to the path lab today for bloods but don't know whether it's worth it the way I'm feeling. Has anyone ever experienced similar?

Dreams2727 · 15/03/2022 08:14

@Jfb23 I can understand your concerns. I have had 2 losses, but I didn't have any warning, they were both picked up on early scans so I've never experienced the onset of MC so to speak, although both times I had to wait for another scan and the day of /day before said scan, I had a teeny bit of spotting.
Firstly, cramping is totally normal in the sense the uterus stretches, so that may bring some comfort.
I would be worried about the blood, but equally, a bit of spotting can be totally normal, especially in early pregnancy Smile
Can you get yourself and private scan or will your local EPU scan you? How far along are you? Smile

lilyj13 · 15/03/2022 08:27

I'm really struggling with nausea, I've been sick a few times, I am struggling to work and feel very weak, off to hospital tomorrow so will ask for different meds as cyclizine and ondansatron not really working for me ๐Ÿ˜ž how long does this last for

Jfb23 · 15/03/2022 08:55

@dreams2727 sorry for you losses. We actually have an early scan booked for Saturday which I was really excited for but now I'm just nervous. We were also going to take our toddler but not sure if that's a good idea and whilst my parents would have her, I don't really have an excuse for why we need childcare for a random hour on a Saturday. I know logically it could all be okay and these symptoms can be normal, but I'm not thinking logically ๐Ÿ˜‚

TheBirdintheCave · 15/03/2022 09:09

@Jfb23 As far as I know children aren't allowed at scans. I think you'll have to get someone to watch the toddler :/

Jfb23 · 15/03/2022 09:33

@TheBirdintheCave it's a private scan and they've said it's fine. Thanks though, I know that's the case with NHS scans

TheBirdintheCave · 15/03/2022 09:58

@Jfb23 Oh interesting! Our private scan place don't allow it. I'm glad you can take the toddler that makes things far easier.

Annny27 · 15/03/2022 10:37

@thebirdinthecave best of luck today!!

@jfb23 apparently brown spotting is very common in the 6-8 week mark :)

@lilyj13 seems really tough :( my nausea is mild in comparison so I really feel for you!

TheBirdintheCave · 15/03/2022 10:51

@Annny27 Thanks, I'm really nervous. Four hours to go.

Bringonbaby3 · 15/03/2022 11:15

Good luck @TheBirdintheCave ! Will keep fingers crossed for you.

Iโ€™ve been quiet as had rough couple of weeks. We all got covid in the end and I was quite badly affected, 4 days of fever :( worried about what impact that will have on the baby and their development but thereโ€™s not much I can do. Over it now and back to the nausea which is really bad at the moment!

Iโ€™d be up for a Facebook group now if anyone else would :)

Pregnantpolly · 15/03/2022 15:25

@TheBirdintheCave thinking of you today and hope it went well.

ChocolateCupcake123 · 15/03/2022 16:26

I had my first scan today at exactly 8 weeks with a lovely strong heartbeat. I balled my eyes out!

I can at least rest easy that there really is a little baby in there, and the nausea isnโ€™t for nothing!

Due late Oct ๐ŸŽƒ - early Nov ๐ŸŽ‰
DM1720 · 15/03/2022 17:03

@ChocolateCupcake123 amazing! So lovely to get that first glimpse of your tiny baba!

@TheBirdintheCave hope all went well. Let us know how you got on!

Pregnantpolly · 15/03/2022 17:38

@ChocolateCupcake123 congrats ๐Ÿ‘ it's good for reassurance

TheBirdintheCave · 15/03/2022 19:24

Not good Iโ€™m afraid!

So the bleeding seemingly isnโ€™t coming from my uterus though she couldnโ€™t find a source for it at all. Iโ€™ve been prescribed progesterone pessaries to see if it helps.

There is a pregnancy sac with a yolk sac inside and โ€˜maybeโ€™ the beginnings of an embryo... BUT the sac only measures 5mm.

The sonographer said I ovulated from my left hand side. This is when I got confused as I marked ovulation as the day I got pains on my RIGHT hand side. There are two outcomes here:

One

My dates are correct and the pregnancy isnโ€™t progressing.

Two

I actually ovulated later than I thought making me 6 weeks today (O day 21 rather than NHS 14. Itโ€™s impossible for me to be any earlier than this based on the last time we had sex). This theory does get bonus points for making sense of my paltry pregnancy symptoms and explaining my extremely faint tests at what I thought was 14dpo but could actually have been 9dpo.

I have to go back in two weeks for (what I see as) a pointless scan where they will just tell me that the โ€˜babyโ€™ stopped growing at 5 weeks and that Iโ€™m having a MMC. I donโ€™t understand why sheโ€™s given me false hope? She seems to think that no embryo at 6 weeks is ok? Nothing Iโ€™ve read (as a layman) would support that notion. Should I not bother using the pessaries and let the miscarriage happen? It seems like a waste of two weeks that I could have spent getting my cycle back and preparing to try again. At 35 I really donโ€™t have any time to waste.

Pregnantpolly · 15/03/2022 19:39

@TheBirdintheCave I'm clueless so will offer virtual hugs. Were you tracking OV at all? I don't know why they would give you false hope, it doesn't benefit them so maybe there is actual hope still. Use the pessaries and go back in 2 weeks. Why would they tell you to come back if it was pointless?

Mochii · 15/03/2022 19:43

@TheBirdintheCave this is the latest NICE guidance as there have been cases where there was suddenly a baby. They will not recognise my miscarriage until tomorrow as I had my first scan a week ago, and the shortest timeframe they offered was a week but recommended 2. Feel free to PM me as our experiences seem similar, although I know my dates for sure as I had IVF

TheBirdintheCave · 15/03/2022 19:51

@mochii Ah I see. That seems really daft though, especially with people like us (where you know your dates and I know the last time I had sex). I think I just wonโ€™t bother with the pessaries and hope it all comes away soon.

Annny27 · 15/03/2022 20:06

@thebirdinthecave sorry it was majorly positive :(

I had a mmc at 11 weeks but baby was only 6 weeks so it was very clear to me from the first scan that it wasn't viable with a difference of 5 weeks in dates! But for 1 week difference like yours it's very plausible! Especially with the really faint tests at the beginning

Sending lots of love and strength ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—

@ChocolateCupcake123 amazing news lovely!!!!

Annny27 · 15/03/2022 20:08

Sorry it wasn't majorly positive*

TheBirdintheCave · 15/03/2022 20:13

@Annny27 The dates work yes but the size of the sac doesnโ€™t. A 5mm sac is 5 week size not 6. Itโ€™s impossible for me to be 5 weeks.

Annny27 · 15/03/2022 20:27

@thebirdinthecave :( its probably better to be realistic isn't it ๐Ÿ’— how are you feeling about it all?

TheBirdintheCave · 15/03/2022 20:33

@Annny27 Just angry at her now that Iโ€™ve crunched the numbers. Iโ€™m 35. I canโ€™t waste two weeks on a pointless pregnancy. I donโ€™t have much time left and as a couple weโ€™re not very fertile. Itโ€™s just so, so cruel.
