I donโ€™t know when Iโ€™m due, Iโ€™ve not had a period since DS was born but I got 1-2 weeks on a Clearblue digi this morning which puts me sometime late October or early November (I think!)
Feels like Iโ€™m too far behind the October group but too early for a November oneโ€ฆ anyone due a similar time and want to join me? Would love to have some company ๐Ÿ˜Š

@TheBirdintheCave how did your appointment go today?

Juke1 · 08/03/2022 21:26

Hi everyone, posting for the first time having lurked for a whileโ€ฆI was too scared to join in in case I jinxed things, but Iโ€™m over that now!

This is my first pregnancy, and by dates Iโ€™m 5+6. Very sore boobs from the start, with mild nausea the last few days.

Iโ€™m a bit worried by the cramping Iโ€™ve been gettingโ€ฆany advice from anyone who has been pregnant before? All central, like a period pain. Mild and intermittent for the last week and a half, couple of much worse episodes last night and this evening where I was almost brought to tears! Not had any bleeding at all. It settles completely in between times (which I think must be a good thing).

Is it normal to get such severe cramping??

TheBirdintheCave · 08/03/2022 21:27

@detachablehoof The doctor decided to call us by surprise on Monday instead (apparently the Tuesday doctor was sick) so I had nothing prepared and my husband didnโ€™t put the call on speakerphone so I couldnโ€™t hear much of what the doctor was saying anyway. Husband did a good job of explaining but all the doctor suggested was that I registered with the midwives. He sent me a link to a talking therapy thing but itโ€™s exclusively over the phone and I canโ€™t hear people on phonecalls as I have audio processing disorder (husband always calls for me and is my second set of ears as backup but he canโ€™t help when heโ€™s at work) so thatโ€™s pointless.

We didnโ€™t do the scan today as I decided that was pointless too. Our car also broke down so we wouldnโ€™t have been able to get there anyway ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

I did register with the midwives and wrote on my form not to give me a booking in appointment as I only wanted help with my anxiety and also NOT to phone me due to the aforementioned hearing issue and to email instead. So what do they do? Completely ignore the form and call me anyway ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ Iโ€™m really angry. Whatโ€™s the point in forms which let you record a disability if theyโ€™re just going to ignore them?

DM1720 · 09/03/2022 12:08

Oh @TheBirdintheCave thatโ€™s SO frustrating! Iโ€™m pretty anxious this week too. To the point Iโ€™m making myself feel ill. Itโ€™s not easy! And I really donโ€™t think I can do this again if this pregnancy doesnโ€™t work out.
I do hope you get some help with the anxiety. How is the pregnancy going? When will your first scan be? Perhaps the scan will put your mind at ease? Have you had bloods done?

TheBirdintheCave · 09/03/2022 12:23

@DM1720 I know what you mean re not being able to do it again. I'm really sorry you're feeling as anxious as me. It's just all so worrying :(

All I want is bloods but no one will do them for me Confused. I'm 6+1 today and things still seem to be ticking along but I've had some light cramping this morning which has frightened me. My nausea is practically non existent (it's worse when I first get up but always gone by lunch) though my boobs are still sore. I expected to feel so much worse by now. My sickness with my son was just terrible though I think it got really bad around week 7 :/ I wish I'd kept a better log but I only went into detail in my diary from week 12.

We're hoping to book a private scan for 7+6 (would be 8+0 but the scan place is closed on Tuesdays).

Fingers crossed the midwives actually reply to my email today and can offer me something more helpful than the doctor. We shall see :/

How many weeks are you and are you going to do a private scan as well?

lilyj13 · 09/03/2022 14:21

Well I went for my scan thinking I was 6 weeks 3 days and I'm just 5 week devastated

Due late Oct ๐ŸŽƒ - early Nov ๐ŸŽ‰
Annny27 · 09/03/2022 14:27

@lilyj13 could you have ovulated later? I know it was a surprise pregnancy so totally likely that you are just a week or so out on your dates! Have they suggested another scan in a week?

lilyj13 · 09/03/2022 14:39

I just wanted to be over 6 weeks to avoid hyperemisis, I prob ovulated later, I have a scan in 2 weeks now
Just feel anxious now

DM1720 · 09/03/2022 15:01

@TheBirdintheCave I got my bloods done this week and they are very high, but this has also worried me. I just wish they were in a normal range. The dr said when he saw my bloods to come in at exactly 6 weeks (this Friday). Iโ€™m glad I donโ€™t have to wait any longer but I suppose no guarantee thereโ€™ll be a heartbeat so early.
Iโ€™m not feeling much nausea. A little in the evenings. But nausea doesnโ€™t always mean things are good(I had lots of nausea for my mmc last year!) . The sore boobs are a great sign. Also, I was very sick on my first baba and not sick at all on my second. Every pregnancy is different so try to be thankful that youโ€™re not sick this time!!

TheBirdintheCave · 09/03/2022 15:54

@lilyj13 Sorry you're not as far along as you think :( Hopefully you still miss hyperemisis though :/

@DM1720 I'm glad you only have a few more days to wait. Fingers crossed everything is coming along well. Maybe there are two in there! :O

misslahx · 09/03/2022 15:57

Finally after a few weeks of waiting I have got my first hospital appointment where I'll get my bloods taken, then a week after I'll have my private scan. Currently 6 weeks 3 days and feeling positive โ˜บ๏ธโ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ

ThinkingDifferent · 10/03/2022 06:52

@lilyj13 that happened to me too. Measured a whole week less when I went for my scan. It was just under 6 weeks but they were able to see heartbeat. Fingers crossed that everything goes well for you.

TheBirdintheCave · 10/03/2022 08:03

After being told at 11pm last night that my brother and sister-in-law are pregnant (after just one month of trying, despite telling us that they were going to wait until they bought a house) I basically had a mini panic attack. I feel like there's so much more pressure for my baby to survive. If I lose it I'm now going to have to watch both my friend AND my sister-in-law happily go through pregnancy and give birth a week around the same time as I would have done :( I don't know how I'd be able to cope with that.

I could barely sleep and when I finally managed it I had terrible nightmares about bleeding. Very relieved to wake up and find it wasn't real but I keep worrying that all of my anxiety and negative thoughts are going to make it come true. I want this baby to live so badly :(

Annny27 · 10/03/2022 08:18

@lilyj13 hopefully you do avoid the HG ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—

@thebirdinthecave that's quite stressful! Hopefully you can announce to them soon too as well ๐Ÿ’—

@curbsideprophet good look for your scan today!

ab03 · 10/03/2022 11:16

Hello!

My due date should be 5th November so 6 weeks today! Trying not to get too excited, it's my first pregnancy but my husband's parents had several miscarriages so slightly worried it will run in the family, and last night I had some milky pink discharge and mild cramps which it seems could mean the worst or could be normal. No discharge so far today but still cramping.

Don't know how we are supposed to carry on as normal with work etc and all this running round our heads?! Confused

TheBirdintheCave · 10/03/2022 11:25

@Annny27 We told them as soon as we found out so they knew already. I had no idea they were even trying x__x

Annny27 · 10/03/2022 12:37

@thebirdinthecave it's always a shock isn't it especially as we have had fertility issues so pregnancy announcements in real like are quite bittersweet to me as a reminder how easily everyone else gets pregnant haha

@ab03 I had a bit of pink spotting and then had a dance two days later and everything was good :) I am on progesterone suppositories now as I have had a previous loss so might be worth chatting to gp about it

Springtime22 · 10/03/2022 13:48

Did someone say there is a private Facebook group? Smile

Springtime22 · 10/03/2022 13:54

@ab03 I'm finding it hard to carry on as normal too ha, I feel like work will be disappointed with the inconvenience when I tell them Confused ... So not looking forward to that! Really want to tell family, have my first midwife appt on 23/03 at 9wk +2 so hopefully scan soon thereafter and will be able to be a bit more open if all is well

Jfb23 · 10/03/2022 16:22

@Springtime22 I agree with you on worl feeling disappointed. I've only been there 8 month, I left my old job whilst on maternity to start this one. Had my appraisal last week where they said how hard it must have been to have all that time off and start a new job but there I was thinking I'm off again soon ๐Ÿ™ˆ my first midwife appointment is tomorrow at 7+6 then a private scan at 9 weeks next Sat

DogsAndBirds · 10/03/2022 17:19

Had my first phone call with the midwife today with bloods booked in for next week when I will be 8 weeks exactly.

Was a little surprised to be asked where I had thought about delivering and having any extra care. I hadnโ€™t even considered what hospital as we live near to 3 and Iโ€™ve never had to use any of them!

TheBirdintheCave · 10/03/2022 17:56

Tiny streaks of brown spotting now in my CM ๐Ÿ˜ญ Has anyone had this around 6 weeks and had everything turn out ok or is this the start of the end? ๐Ÿ˜ญ

lilyj13 · 10/03/2022 18:08

@TheBirdintheCave it's completely normal to brown spot, don't panic just yet and keep an eye on it. If it goes strong red blood then I would call dr in the morning or midwife. I bled when I was pregnant with my daughter and she was just fine and was quite a lot as well. It's very normal spotting brown

Annny27 · 10/03/2022 18:11

@thebirdinthecave I had some spotting 2 days before my scan (and now still!) But scan was good and measuring on track with heartbeat so ๐Ÿคž it's just one of those early pregnancy spotting that a lot of people seem to have

@dogsandbirds yep feels a bit early to make birth decisions haha!

@springtime22 I don't think there's a fb group just yet- or if there is i don't know about it haha

Hjklasdfg · 10/03/2022 20:04

@Springtime22 @Annny27 there isnโ€™t a Facebook group yet. I did mention it earlier in the post but wasnโ€™t sure if it was too early for some. Maybe we should get one set up if people are up for joining? Understand that not everyone would want to as sometimes being anonymous helps! @Foxella
