I've definitely missed people, but hoping I've got everyone who's been active recently. Apologies if not!

@CurbsideProphet Ah we're lucky that we've just caught the tail end really of those who want children having them, so good timing as everyone else is done and wants rid of stuff! I've heard good things about NCT sales. There is a great wee shop near me that gives work opportunities to adults with disabilities selling gifted babygear really cheap too, worth looking to see if there is anything like that in your area

2mumlife · 14/07/2022 10:52

32 week growth scan and baby has dropped down the weight percentiles to nicely between the 50th and 90th lines which I'm so pleased about. Consultant didn't even mention induction today (hurrah!) and everything looking good. Hoping next growth scan in 4 weeks will be the final scan before bubs is here!

Now at 26 weeks here. Been a bit quiet of late as we ended up moving house recently, much faster than planned (which has created different logistical problems). As a result of this I’ve now found almost all the baby stuff from 5 years ago and DH has been busy washing off all the cobwebs with bleach. We had vacuum bagged up (a massive volume of) 0-4 year old clothes in case we got chance to reuse, but as we’re told we’re having a girl, a significant proportion of them won’t be useful and I don’t know how best to get rid of them all. I couldn’t find a local nct to join

Freecycle? Nextdoor app? There's also lots of local freecycle pages on facebook for various areas. You can also put up as free on facebook marketplace. The clothes will get snapped up if you put on there.

ToCaden · 14/07/2022 14:33

I just put up a mattress I needed rid of 10 mins ago and had someone contact me around 4mins later to organise taking it away. Dead easy.

TeddyTonks · 14/07/2022 14:34

I've been sorting out clothes recently too (it's an ongoing process as I'm oh with DC3, got one boy and one girl). All the big standard supermarket or well worn stuff I've gifted on our local waste exchange site via FB, all the good quality stuff I've sold on vinted- it's super easy today and I've made c£200 so far so worth it.

Mountaingoat31 · 14/07/2022 18:07

Thanks both 🙂

2mumlife · 15/07/2022 09:16

@Mountaingoat31 Do you know anyone else expecting? We've been gifted a lot of stuff by friends as we're at the back end of having babies. You can also donate to places like Cash4Clothes or local charity shops.

CurbsideProphet · 15/07/2022 10:02

@Mountaingoat31 I don't sell unwanted clothes as I can't be bothered with the hassle. I'm so lazy! I take everything to my local charity shop. I'm gift aid registered so every year they send me a letter to say how much my donations have raised. If the money would come in handy then Vinted is a good place to start (though I've only bought on there, not sure how easy selling is). If it would be more stress than it's worth just donate it all and tick it off your list of things to do!

I'm really envious that your local Facebook market place / groups are so busy. Ours are just full.of time wasters who don't show up 😬

Mountaingoat31 · 15/07/2022 10:17

@2mumlife Our friends children are turning into teenagers - they mostly offloaded second hand stuff to us 5 years ago, majority of which was extremely kind and very gratefully received. I would take to charity shop normally but the volume is probably too great for the size of shops we have round here! I think I may go with the freecycle options once I’ve resifted. We’re lucky not to need the money.

Super Anxious!!

I had a successful 5 day transfer in June. My hgc on day 8 (post transfer) was 121 which I told was fine. When I had my early pregnancy scan I was measuring 6 weeks 1 day instead of 6 weeks 6 days.
When I asked if this was the start of a miscarriage, the consultant said not necessarily as the heart rate was 125bpm.
I've been waiting for my 2nd scan (2 weeks later) and am super anxious. I've had no symptoms of pregnancy at all. And feel sick waiting another few days for scan.
Anybody else been in similar situations? 😔

Ivf2023 · 15/07/2022 15:56

I also forgot to add I take ustrogen pessaries 3 x daily, and read that they can mask a miscarriage?

2mumlife · 16/07/2022 08:24

@Mountaingoat31 Freecycle is a good shout, or split your donations between a few different shops? You can also see if there are any facebook groups for children's good in your area and open them up to free collection.

@Ivf2023 I understand this is a very anxious time, but try not to worry - they are measuring something VERY small, so a few days difference isn't necesserily indicative of an issue. If there is a heartbeat your emrbyo is alive - so yesterday you were pregnant and most likely you are today :)

Monday55 · 16/07/2022 10:17

Congratulations to @Holskey & @LemonyT on your bundles of joy.

I'm here to give my update too after being offline for a few weeks.
I got induced on the 9th & gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on 11th July. We had to stay in hospital afterwards for a few days due to complications but happy to be finally home in our own space.

Wishing you all ladies the best and I will pop-back in from time to time to see how others are getting on.

Vecna · 17/07/2022 16:39

Thanks @Monday55 and huge congratulations to you too! 🎉 I hope the complications are over and you and your daughter are doing well 💕

2mumlife · 18/07/2022 09:54

@Monday55 Congratulations! I'm sure you're relieved to be home. Hope you're recovery has gone smoothly and your enjoying your little one!

Cakecakecheese · 18/07/2022 11:07

Congratulations @Monday55 🎊

@Ivf2023 like @2mumlife said it is hard to measure a very small baby but the heartbeat is a good sign.

I'm 36 weeks. Starting to struggle a bit tbh. I've got a growth scan and consultant appointment this week so should find out when I'll be induced.

CurbsideProphet · 18/07/2022 11:55

Congratulations @Monday55 🙂 I love seeing the birth announcement posts here 🙂

Ivf2023 · 18/07/2022 12:58

Thanks for all the support.
Unfortunately not a good outcome, had my 2nd scan on the weekend and I have had a missed miscarriage. So will be having a D&C thus week.

ToCaden · 18/07/2022 13:48

@Ivf2023 sorry to hear that. Take things easy on yourself.

Vecna · 18/07/2022 21:36

I'm so sorry @Ivf2023 💐

2mumlife · 19/07/2022 10:27

@Ivf2023 I'm sorry there wasn't a more positive outcome for you. 💐 Sending you best wishes for the future

@Cakecakecheese This heat doesn't make the final stretch any easier. I'm starting to get pretty uncomfortable at 33 weeks, can't really imagine bubs continuing to get bigger over the next 7 weeks! Good luck with growth scan :)

Cakecakecheese · 19/07/2022 13:43

@Ivf2023 I'm so sorry.

CurbsideProphet · 19/07/2022 13:49

So sorry @Ivf2023 💐💐 I was in your position last summer and I still don't have the words to describe it. Do what you need to look after yourself x

TheSnufflet · 20/07/2022 13:16

Just realised I haven't been back for about three weeks - my twins were born at 36+0 by EMCS on the 30th June 🙂 we're only just home now after a week on the ward for me and the boy (him to regain a lot of his lost weight and for me to get my blood pressure to normalise post pre-e) and spending 3 weeks in NICU for my girl to recover from surgery, plus an extra day where we had to go back in as she was vomiting bile 😬 congratulations to everyone who gave birth in the meantime!
