@Lostintranslatio yeah I think being tall must make a difference! And haha he’ll be able to feel it soon enough.

Lots of love for the UppaBaby Vista! My bestie has one and loves it. Says it was worth the extra money. I’m going for the UppaBaby Ridge! It’s only just come out. It’s their version of a jogging buggy/stroller. It fits the same bassinet as the vista (which I’m borrowing from aforementioned friend). Although I won’t be able to run with it til baby is 6-8months, I can’t see why it won’t work as my everyday pram/buggy. I have a pretty big boot so that’s not an issue for me.

PleaseSendNoodles · 07/02/2022 03:25

And argh @pregnancydiaries I hope you got back to sleep!

Olive60 · 07/02/2022 06:44

Scan day today! Excited but nervous at the same time!

Thanks for the pram advice ladies!

Re cribs/cots and no nursery. I'm going for the Tutti Bambino Cozee XL as it starts as a crib and expands to a cot (and then a junior bed!)
I didn't really see the need to buy a separate crib and then a cot when baby will be sharing our room for a coupe of years.

@Northofthebordermum so sorry to hear about the covid. My husband just had it last week and it came with lots of digestive symptoms. That said, why not call your midwife/GP? My trust suggest all pregnant women should let them know if they have covid. Hopefully they can reassure you. I know some trusts ( not all) also prescribe blood thinners to pregnant women with covid as a precaution.

EarlGreywithLemon · 07/02/2022 07:28

@Olive60 good luck with the scan!

We have the Bugaboo fox and love it.
Pros:

  • really smooth easy steering
  • height - really helped with getting her in and out easily when my back went bad after the birth, and would be helpful if you end up needing a c section
  • great on all terrains
  • very roomy for the baby - she’s very comfortable still in the pushchair setting at 26 months, and she is a tall girl
  • most bits of it are machine washable

Cons

  • on the larger and heavier side - that wouldn’t really be an issue though if we didn’t live up one very steep flight of stairs (looking to move now!)
Hope that helps!
EarlGreywithLemon · 07/02/2022 07:29

@mrkb good experience here with the Snuzpod - though we have the older version (the three) we bought for our daugher

Olive60 · 07/02/2022 07:38

@EarlGreyWithLemon thank you!
I do love the look of the Bugaboo Fox, Height is deffo up there as a swaying point for us too! I had a Stokke Xplory with my first which was 18kg I think! Hopefully I've got some muscle memory from getting it in and out of the car 🤣

PeeAche · 07/02/2022 07:51

I have my scan today!!

Good luck to you, @Olive60 Scan sisters!! 😗

@Olive60

We went pram "window shopping" today to try and get a jist of what we want and its made me even more confused! Love the Joolz which they didn't stock, But liked the look of Maxi Cosi Adorra Luxe, Mamas & papas Ocarro, Bugaboo fox & the Venicci & a nuna one...so it's got me no where!
I have a Venicci - got it for my son a couple of years ago as we wanted something with good wheels as we used to live near a big park. It's been great. I'm excited to reuse it again this time around!
Prema112 · 07/02/2022 08:18

Also have a scan today! Good luck @PeeAche & @Olive60 thinking of you! X

PeeAche · 07/02/2022 08:23

Good luck @Prema112

I don't know about you both but I just can't believe it's finally here.

Also, I think I'm more nervous than at 12 weeks. Which I didn't think was possible. 🙈

Catching up after a busy weekend! Good luck on your scans @Prema112 @PeeAche @Olive60 hope all is well and that little ones behave themselves 💚

Vimto1991 · 07/02/2022 08:56

Good morning everyone! Good luck on everyone’s scans today!! 🥰
I’m returning to work after a week off an annual leave and dreading it more than normal! I just can’t be dealing with work at the moment 😂

Lostintranslatio · 07/02/2022 09:08

Good luck on the scans today!!!!!

I know I'm only 19+5 and baby is too small, but yesterday I did not feel any flickering. Is not feeling them every day normal at the beginning? My mind is obviously jumping to the worse possible outcomes.

@Vimto1991 I'm supposed to return to office and here I am keeping my head down until someone says sth to me😂😂 I can't deal with the commuting now. Also my 20 week scan is next week and I don't want to take the risk of having to isolate myself and not being able to attend.

Regarding the pram shopping, any experiences with the bugaboo chameleon?

fpeg · 07/02/2022 09:13

@Lostintranslatio totally normal to have really quiet days, I had the odd day where I felt nothing, it's been gradually progressing so I've felt something every day for the last week. Now 23+5 and she had a monster dancing session all weekend which included a new trick of hitting both sides of my abdomen at the same time and then, the not so fun, going really low in my pelvis and finding a nerve that made my leg jerk when she hit it 😂

Vimto1991 · 07/02/2022 09:20

@Lostintranslatio
Yeah completely normal. Baby is so small they can be stretching without you feeling it or turned away against you. At 20 weeks I didn’t feel then for two/three days and panicked but they’ve been back every day since. Currently feeling kicks sat at my desk at the moment 🥰
I work from home, I miss the commute and getting out, but it does have its positives that I get to be here throughout pregnancy, and could hide my sickness well haha

Lostintranslatio · 07/02/2022 09:35

@Vimto1991 @fpeg thank you so much! That's reassuring ☺️ I'm sure in a few weeks I'll come back complaining that she doesn't let me sleep with all the kicking and dancing 😂

Roxystar23 · 07/02/2022 09:51

Hi Everyone! I’ve just caught up on the last few days posts.

Good luck to everyone with scans this week - i’m excited for you!

Enjoying reading all the pram recommendations. Myself & my partner went to Mama’s & Papa’s over the weekend to look at them but we got a bit overwhelmed with having so much choice that we ended up walking out. We will brave it again soon i’m sure!

Thank you so much to all the ladies that commented about having a smear test during pregnancy - after thinking about it (a lot!!) and reading the responses, I’ve decided that I am going to cancel mine and try and get it rebooked for after my due date so at least I know it’s booked.

@Lostintranslatio - Yes - perfectly normal. I had this exact same panic & got more and more worried - I cried with relief when I felt a kick after not feeling a nothing for about 36 hours.

pregnancydiaries · 07/02/2022 09:52

Good luck today ladies @PeeAche @Prema112 @Olive60 it's such a special scan ♥️

@Lostintranslatio totally normal!! Happened to me when I was about 19 weeks for a few days and panicked but he was just hiding in a wee comfy spot and came back with a kicking vengeance!xx

Prema112 · 07/02/2022 09:54

@PeeAche I'm nervous too! This is the second half of my 20 weeks scan and I'm still scared something will be wrong. Gonna eat chocolate 30 mins before to get baby moving, hope he's not sitting on my cervix again!

RoseValleyRambles · 07/02/2022 10:00

Morning all! I did some serious baby shopping this weekend too, and have loads of tiny baby clothes arriving this week which is super exciting. We've got all the big stuff sorted bar the car seat (we started a bit early as we're getting everything we can second hand, so can't leave it too late if we want preferred models). Car seat is the one exception as I know you need that new.

Had a bit of a panic on Friday after my 20 week scan, as everything suddenly felt very real. But much perkier now and enjoying our little boy's kicks!

JAR1981 · 07/02/2022 10:07

Good luck today @Olive60 @PeeAche @Prema112 ❤️

@pregnancydiaries yep my sleep is getting worse again. I’m good until about 4 when either my sore hips or baby kicks wake me up. I counted 50 kicks in 35 minutes last night. I love it but how does anyone sleep through that? Also thought I had the hip pain sorted with a mattress topper and pregnancy pillow but even that combo doesn’t seem sufficient anymore. Anyone any other suggestions?

Not feeling the love for work today although I finally told my boss last week so at least that’s a weight off my shoulders. No response from HR on what I need to do to re following proper legal process. Have I done my bit now I informed them on email that I am due in June?

pregnancydiaries · 07/02/2022 10:12

@JAR1981 exact same reason here, my hips really can't take it. I also seem to panic when I have to lie on my right side so that doesn't let me sleep for long either. I've tried the same as you for hips, and put a duvet under our fitted sheet as well as mattress topper...no such luck. Sitting up sleeping isn't quite hitting the spot for me!!!

Re work I'm in a similar situation, emailed last week officially letting them know. They've come back with a link to a form I've to complete and noted I'll need to submit my Mat B1 form, which I'm due to get at 22 week app next week. Hopefully you hear back soon xx

Flowerbug1994 · 07/02/2022 10:16

@Prema112 I had a bar of whole nut 10 mins before scan and baby was like a loonatic I had to do a few hip shakes to move him but got all measurements in the end even though he wouldn’t keep still
