@mrkb I'm 18+4 and baby is size if a bell pepper. It seems unreal, doesn't it!? 😍

Annabell1 · 30/01/2022 12:32

Good to hear everyone's thoughts about Sleepyhead/DockATot. I'm also still debating whether to get one or not. I really like the idea, but I'm also concerned that they are not safe. Our bed is really high so not sure if things like Chico Next to me would work for us.
@ALHCTPS Thanks for the link, those sleeping bags look lovely. I was actually wondering whether you are Swedish or Australian. :)

We now had our 20-week scan and all looks good. I'm so relieved. She was moving around like crazy, doing backflips and all that. But the sonographer was not able to take all measurements, so I have to go back in two weeks. Bonus scan :)
The only thing she wasn't too happy about was my low placenta. I really hope it's gonna move up as I would very much prefer a natural birth.

Flowerbug1994 · 30/01/2022 12:35

@Annabell1 if the next to me won’t be high enough have a look at a Halo bassinest they go really high and have brilliant reviews and features on them

mrkb · 30/01/2022 12:38

@Lostintranslatio 😂 I know!! It does make me think about how they're supposed to get out though - apparently she'll be the size of a watermelon by the end 😬

OK, so the watermelon size fact made me nervous 😂😂😂😂

EarlGreywithLemon · 30/01/2022 12:47

@RoseValleyRambles I did manage to find a 0.2 and it arrived yesterday: www.johnlewis.com/tommee-tippee-the-original-grobag-newborn-snuggle-baby-sleeping-bag-0-2-tog-grey/p4892166
It may date back to before Gro was bought by Tommee Tippee?
I’ve also seen some temperature charts based on the L and C ratings. Here’s one if you scroll down: www.tommeetippee.com/en-us/product-support/support-grosnug

ALHCTPS · 30/01/2022 13:04

@mrkb @Lostintranslatio

This picture of pumpkins carved to show the levels of dilation often does the rounds at Halloween. Feels intimidating, but vaginas are amazing. And, by that stage of the pregnancy, you just want the baby OUT!

Thanks @Flowerbug1994, I will check that out. 😊

mrkb · 30/01/2022 13:49

@ALHCTPS 😂😂 I'll have to remember this in June!!

ALHCTPS · 30/01/2022 14:07

@mrkb I hate being pregnant (despite very much wanting this baby so much) that childbirth has no fear, as it means I’m that bit closer to NOT BEING PREGNANT!!!!

I didn't realise they'd been acquired. That explains quite a lot - there are a few 0.2s on vinted so I'll grab them if they're likely in limited supply!

EarlGreywithLemon · 30/01/2022 16:16

@RoseValleyRambles that might be a good call! I can only see 1 and 2.5 swadddle bags on their website.
We had two of the 1togs and one 2.5tog for our daughter. We mostly used the two 1togs. She was a very very vomity reflux baby but we were OK with two. It did mean one was often on the drying rack and one in use, but that’s fine.

RoseValleyRambles · 30/01/2022 16:25

@earlgreywithlemon Great. I reckon two of each tog (0.2,0.5,1), in newborn and 0-3, should see me through summer and then we'll be in the warmer ones for autumn/winter.
Another thing ticked off the list!

MrsTwentyNine · 30/01/2022 16:57

Has anyone got a newborn check list they've come up with and are willing to share? Nearly 21 weeks and I feel like maybe I should at least have a list ready now...

Flowerbug1994 · 30/01/2022 17:18

@MrsTwentyNine I 100% could do one of these am buying randomly and could do with a list for a summer baby. Just things like how many baby grows and stuff

Thank you @RoseValleyRambles that looks very thorough! I'll be adding things to my minimal list from yours

@Flowerbug1994 I know...such a minefield!

ChildOfFriday · 30/01/2022 18:18

Thank you so much @RoseValleyRambles- that's really helpful Smile

RoseValleyRambles · 30/01/2022 19:00

No worries! Watch out tho, I've built it based on what I've read elsewhere, not personal experience! Grin

Roxystar23 · 30/01/2022 19:15

@mrkb & @Flowerbug1994 - Thank you both so much for your reassuring words! They really helped to calm me down. It’s moments like these that you realise just how much you love the baby you have yet to meet and just how strong your feelings are for them already!
I laughed so much about the Aubergine comment.
I’ve since been given a right kicking so feeling very relieved.

Thank you for the list @RoseValleyRambles! I stood in Tesco the other day looking at the baby clothes section and became slightly overwhelmed and didn’t end up purchasing anything.
I also became quite overwhelmed when looking at prams and car seats in Mamas & Papas yesterday. There’s so much choice! I had a dream last night that I gave birth but couldn’t take my baby home as I hadn’t purchased anything to take my baby home in (car seat/carrycot). Hopefully I’ll be better prepared by June! Haha!

MsBubbles85 · 30/01/2022 19:30

This is a list of baby essentials they gave me when we went to the nursery appointment at John Lewis

MsBubbles85 · 30/01/2022 19:37

ChildOfFriday · 30/01/2022 19:42

Thanks as well @MsBubbles85- very useful!

ChildOfFriday · 30/01/2022 19:59

@MsBubbles85 Would you recommend the John Lewis nursery appointments? It sounds like it could be something good for DH and I as at the moment we feel a bit out of our depth with so much to sort out!
