SnowdropFox · 12/11/2021 11:15

Hey all, new to this thread. I'm 8 weeks with my second. This pregnancy feels so different to the first so wondering if that's a sign I'll get a ds rather than a second dd!

TTCjourney2021 · 12/11/2021 11:16

Scan done!! Measuring at 7weeks 5 days, slightly further than I expected, lovely healthy heartbeat, and no sign of any bleed at all! So relieved and so happy, thankyou for all your support ladies! Hope anyone else having scans goes ok today!! Xx

Unarosaes · 12/11/2021 11:24

Yes again to this one @MrsNT! My lower abdomen looks super bloated in the evening and goes back to more or less its regular size in the morning. I don't think it's a reason to worry. Bloating is definitely a common symptom and I think being less bloated in the mornings is normal?

brumbrum89 · 12/11/2021 11:28

@MrsNT

I am 9weeks today and have had no nausea. The only symptoms I have are sore breasts and a large appetite. I have put 2kg on since being pregnant.
InvisibleDragon · 12/11/2021 11:32

@PeeAche You were asking a few pages back how our partners are finding the pregnancy.

My DH was totally freaked out to start with, especially as we weren't planning to have children quite yet. It was tense and stressful for a few weeks, because he was so uncertain, whereas I was surprised but happy to find out I was pregnant.

However, after a lot of talking, he's really come around. He's asking about how I'm feeling, looking at the notes from my booking appointment, and says that he wants to feel connected to the baby. He's also keen to share the news with our families, which feels a bit early to me, but is apparently normal for him (he's from the middle East).

Clomid1 · 12/11/2021 11:33

@MrsNT I am your no nausea buddy! I honestly don’t even feel that pregnant. I don’t know whether to be happy about this or not?

LNS19 · 12/11/2021 11:50

Hi all. I’ve been lurking here for a while. I’m 7+4 going by LMP. Already have a DD who is almost 3.

Yes to the middle of the night waking! Perhaps it’s our bodies way of preparing us for all those night feeds in the early days! 🤣 so rubbish though, I’m exhausted in the daytime.

Also I’m thankfully not suffering much with the dreaded nausea. Had it way worse with my first. So sorry to those of you suffering with it, it does get better later on.

@SnowdropFox interesting you say that, this time round feels different for me too and was wondering if it could mean a DS this time. Are you going to find out? DD was a surprise.

Also massively bloated in the evenings, remember that from last time.

Hope all of those with bleeding are doing ok. Also those having reassurance scans, you are in my thoughts and prayers. These first few weeks are such a scary and lonely time, especially when only you and your parter know. Lots of love to all.xx

rathernotshare · 12/11/2021 12:02

I know someone in real life who is due in June, but they don't know I'm due in June, and now I'm suspicious of everyone hoping I don't give it away 😂

Imhereforthecake · 12/11/2021 12:09

@TTCjourney2021 yay!! So pleased for you!

Unarosaes · 12/11/2021 12:38

For those with morning sickness... have you taken any time off work at all? I've had some relatively mild but constant morning sickness, generally feeling a bit nauseous on and off throughout the day and sometimes dry heaving without being fully sick. Probably TMi, but here it goes... today I I'm feeling particularly nauseous and I have been sick after lunch. I am wondering whether it would be OK to take the afternoon off? In regular circumstances I probably would not be working if I was feeling like this, but for some reason I feel its not justified right now.

rathernotshare · 12/11/2021 12:46

@Unarosaes I'm exactly the same, I've been sick quite a bit but haven't taken any time off. I feel guilty as I have quite a few specialist appointments and am already taking a lot of time out for those. It would be justified though! I suppose it depends on your role too, I have noone to share my role with so if I'm not there it will just stack up and be worse when I get back! If you can, take the time off!

Unarosaes · 12/11/2021 12:52

Thank you! I feel a bit silly for needing validation, but it was definitely helpful! I think I am going to take the afternoon off. I am working from home, so I can easily hop on again if I feel better.

Prema112 · 12/11/2021 12:59

@Unarosaes I was thinking yesterday that if I felt this rough and I wasn't pregnant there would be no way anyone would expect me to be working, and so why do I push myself to work?! I suppose it's because the nausea is for weeks and weeks. I wouldn't feel bad about taking it a bit easy at work. I haven't worked my full hours this week, I'm getting what needs to be done done but I'm not going above and beyond in any way, I seem to be in a pattern of 4 hours in the office, then when I feel too awful I go home for a lie down then carry on a bit from home

rathernotshare · 12/11/2021 13:02

@Unarosaes I think it shows what you're like, I definitely work with people that wouldn't think twice about pulling a sicky, never mind when they're actually ill... it's hard being a conscientious worker 😂

HopefulJ2018 · 12/11/2021 13:04

@Unarosaes
I’ve been struggling with hyperemisis (extreme sickness) and it’s been horrific. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I’m now 9/10 weeks and finally able to eat a bit more but had lots of time off work. Thankfully my work have been really good about it all.

Unarosaes · 12/11/2021 13:13

Those of you with HG have my utmost respect. Today is the only day I have been properly sick and it is horrible. I can't fathom feeling like this for several weeks.

Glad to hear you're starting to feel better @HopefulJ2018

Thank you for your reassuring words. I haven't valued all the days that I am working whilst feeling sick. I have decided to take the afternoon off. No one at work will really care anyways and I don't think I'd be able to get much done anyways.

mazzy89 · 12/11/2021 13:29

@Unarosaes I am exactly the same. Struggling to work and then feeling guilty when I’m not - but if it wasn’t due to pregnancy that I was feeling like this I definitely wouldn’t be pushing myself so hard (or feeling so guilty!).

Had a bleed this morning and have now got a scan booked for Monday - it’s going to be a long weekend of waiting! Taking this afternoon off and will not feel guilty about it and am going to chill and watch Friends (againGrin).

Iamhev · 12/11/2021 14:04

Hi all, I am new to mumnet with my second pregnancy and fingers tightly crossed first baby 👶currently 10 weeks and had a early scan at 7 weeks as I had convinced myself all my symptoms had disappeared!. Wish I'd just enjoyed the relief as they soon came back and all was good at the scan and we saw a little pulsating bean so felt a little less anxious although the wait for the 12 weeks scan (on 2 December) seems to be taking an age to come round 😀
It's so lovely to find this group and read everyone else experiences and so reassuring that they're so similar to mine. It's so hard in the early stages as we haven't told anyone so you don't have a support network to reach out to so hello everyone, so glad I have found you ladies.
@MrsNT I had started to worry about my belly suddenly deflating in the morning too, I haven't really being suffering from sickness much either just exhausted all the time and every now and again I'll have a day where someone asking me if I want a cup of tea makes me want to burst into tears 😹 that and boobs as sore as anything!
Wishing everyone a great weekend and anyone with scans over the next few days loads of love and good luck that they all go well
Xx
