So many good news scans today! Really happy to read about them.

@PeeAche I feel the same about this group. Reading through today's posts i was thinking that I can't wait for everyone to start having their 12 weeks scans so that we can breathe a little bit more in relief.

My partner is excited but also very nervous this time around. When we had our first pregnancy he was fantasising even about what school we'd choose for our child. This time around he's taking each day at a time and keeping the daydreaming at bay. It makes me a little bit sad that we've lost that sense of excitement and imagining what our life would be like with a baby.

@Wellthiswasunexpected @rathernotshare I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing antenatal depression. I hope you are getting the support you need. I have been mostly feeling OK, but some days my emotions are all-over the place. Today I am feeling particularly down. Been crying multiple times without a reason and terrified of having another mmc.

RoseValleyRambles · 10/11/2021 12:42

Great scan news, folks. I wonder if one of us should jump into the July thread and warn them that bleeding really isn't that 'uncommon', based on our experiences? :D

It's all feeling a little more real. My DH is more scared than excited. We'd got used to the idea of it just bring us two, so it's a bit of a readjustment to make.

TTCjourney2021 · 10/11/2021 12:45

So happy about everybody's good scan news!! I'm really apprehensive about my follow up scan on Friday! Hopefully I have the same luck you guys are having🤞🤞 xx

Imhereforthecake · 10/11/2021 12:56

@RoseValleyRambles
I think that's actually a really good idea. If it wasn't for you group of lovely ladies - I would never of known how common it is!

PeeAche · 10/11/2021 12:58

Tell them to stop obsessively taking pregnancy tests, while you're at it. 😂

mazzy89 · 10/11/2021 13:03

Hi gang! Been lurking for a while. Currently 9+3 with 12 week scan booked for 2 Dec. Had a 7 week scan where I saw the heartbeat, but still anxious as anything. (And nauseous and tired and....)

Happy to hear all the good scan news today! And sending lots of love to those that are struggling.

beansprout55 · 10/11/2021 13:23

@Imhereforthecake over the moon! Did they have any ideas what is causing this bleed? Encouraging news for me and other xx you just be so happy! 🥰

AlbatrossSociety · 10/11/2021 13:41

@PeeAche I found another pack of pregnancy tests in my cupboard the other day and thought about doing one just to check (as if the tiredness and nausea isn't enough confirmation) and thought of you and had a giggle as I put them back into the cupboard!

My husband is excited about the pregnancy and idea of a baby but he's not always the most sensitive about what's happening for me - at our wedding he was up drinking in the hot tub with our friends until like 4am while I had snuck off to bed at 11 - he didn't even end up sleeping in the honeymoon suite! He said he didn't want to disturb me, and I get that but he definitely didn't think about what it was like for me. I think he's also really scared about being a dad too @RoseValleyRambles

I've been having all sorts of weird thought processes at the moment - I don't think I'm feeling depressed, just keep following the most bizarre trains of thought! It seems a bit harder to let go of thoughts that I might usually be able to kind of shrug off as 'silly', and I think I feel a bit more vulnerable generally. My therapist (male) the other day said it couldn't be pregnancy making me this tired because women in the developing world have to continue going out to work so it's just the Western world that has made pregnancy into this big drama Hmm. I did point out that I also have to continue going to work!? Not at all sure how he thought he was being therapeutic Confused

Imhereforthecake · 10/11/2021 13:44

@beansprout55 thank you Smile they couldn't see any areas of bleeding at all, which is reassuring but also annoying because I want to know what's causing it! They asked if I was still having sex (Grin as if!) as that may cause it but other than that they have no idea just said some women do bleed throughout pregnancy.

blueberryy · 10/11/2021 13:56

So happy to hear about all the good scans today!!

PeeAche · 10/11/2021 14:24

@AlbatrossSociety feeling tired isn't the same as being lazy is it?

It's linking 2 vague concepts to draw a forced conclusion.

I can enjoy Lizzo but it doesn't make me a black woman.
I can feel hungry but it doesn't mean I'm emaciated.
I have been on a boat but I am not a fucking pirate.

Can I leave him a bad Google review?

Prema112 · 10/11/2021 14:46

@CurryandSnuggle YES!! I am so so pleased to hear your scan was good!!! What a relief!! How can bleeding be uncommon, it seems like almost all of us have had some spotting?! I had some spotting again yesterday (will it ever end Sad) BUT I've decided to take the nurses advice and not freak out, I've got my 12 week scan in a week and I'm gonna wait until then, I can't handle another EPU scan they are too stressful!

Prema112 · 10/11/2021 14:53

@Imhereforthecake amazing news!! So happy your scan was good!! Hope you can relax a little now Smile

pregnancydiaries · 10/11/2021 15:09

Great to hear the good news on the scans ladies, what a relief xx

Totally agree with @PeeAche I’d be lost without you all!!

AlbatrossSociety · 10/11/2021 15:13

@PeeAche definitely! Just because women have to keep going to work doesn't mean they aren't tired!?! He also said if you think the worst it will happen when I said I was worrying about losing the pregnancy which is just an incredibly stupid, irresponsible and biologically untrue thing to say!! It's so interesting because I've been seeing him for 3 years since I started my own training, and he's been good but suddenly with the pregnancy he seems to be saying all of these really weird things!? Now I can't help but therapise him and wonder what the idea of pregnancy brings up for him... and then I just think fuck it I'll find a new one Grin.

HWka · 10/11/2021 16:50

Yay for all the good scan news today!! So pleased for everyone Flowers

CurryandSnuggle · 10/11/2021 17:39

Right I’m catching up!! I was a bit down the last couple of days so just shut myself out from the world and watched chick flicks lol.

Hope everyone with spotting / bleeding is doing ok Flowers

@PeeAche I have everything crossed that this is your sticky one! Wishing you luck with your scan (not so good about being your sicky one though! Bless you).

@laurenGame congratulations on your scan Grin

CurryandSnuggle · 10/11/2021 17:43

@AlbatrossSociety yes to weird dreams! I had a horrendous one the other night (graphic about a parasitic creature). Won’t go into more detail than that haha. So shocking!!! I also keep waking up thinking I am choking, so odd. What sort of dreams are you having?

@Wellthiswasunexpected sorry to read about your antenatal depression. Is it being managed? How are you doing? Xxx

@Imhereforthecake congratulations on your scan! Grin such lovely news today

@PeeAche aww yeah I feel the same about our lovely supportive group ❤️

CurryandSnuggle · 10/11/2021 17:47

@Prema112 he said bleeding is common but not considered normal. However I am sort of expecting it to continue throughout my pregnancy on and off, I am mentally prepared for it. He said it’s highly unlikely I would miscarry now and no cause for the bleeding can be seen on scan!

Hope you find some relief from this whirlwind too Flowers

pregnancydiaries · 10/11/2021 17:53

Ladies im so sore after my scan yesterday and paranoid the pressing so hard on the abdomen has caused damage...I think I know that’s not the case because they’ve been doing this for years but 😫😫

MrsNT · 10/11/2021 17:56

MrsNT · 10/11/2021 17:58

@curryandsnuggle

My cousin had red bleeding continously throughout her pregnancy with her 2nd baby. No cause was ever found. Her baby is now almost 11 yrs old! Although she was born prematurely at about 7 or 8 months as bleeding became excessive and they had to do emergency c sec

rathernotshare · 10/11/2021 18:00

I know someone (in real life!) who didn't know she was pregnant until she was rushed into hospital with suspected appendicitis. Came out with a baby the same day! She'd had 'periods' the entire time

PurpleMoon12 · 10/11/2021 18:03

I'm really feeling the tiredness! Also been worrying alot about scans - its a 2 hour round trip for me to the hospital, plus however long I'm in there, so I have no choice but to tell work! Dreading it

CurryandSnuggle · 10/11/2021 18:08

@pregnancydiaries don’t worry, they press hard because the baby is so small. The baby is very well cushioned and won’t have been hurt by it Flowers
