Oh these babies are coming thick and fast now so exciting!!!

I'm not due till 30th but I definitely think she's engaged as its so painful in my pelvis to walk 😬
Got consultant Tuesday, hoping to discuss early induction or a plan going forward as my waters have gone from 5.6cm deepest pool to 2.3cm with a negative test for membrane rupture.... So not sure where my waters gone if it hasn't come out 😂

Movements are so painful now, and hiccups are mildly annoying at 3am, but there we go 😁

Peachee · 03/09/2021 18:39

@MrsTD88 omg I know ! It’s finally starting to sink in and I’m nesting!
Congratulations to all who have had delivery of their little bundles already!!

D0nut · 03/09/2021 19:28

Congratulations to all the new mums with babies!

I’ve been quiet and so so busy with work. I’ve just put my out of office on and officially started my mat leave about 30mins ago and hoping I get my full 2 weeks of time off before my c-section planned for the 20th.

I’ve also been put on blood pressure medication (labetelol) this week. And hoping that it settles. Having my first growth scan on Monday. Hope all is ok!

SillyBry · 03/09/2021 19:42

@AdventuresAwait congratulations! Hettie looks gorgeous! Such lovely news!!

@Squibble84 damned pregnancy hormones, I was crying in the car driving away… she’s been at nursery since she was 10 months old, so it’s hardly different her being out! I just felt so emotional about her not being a toddler anymore I think. But she had a fab day - she was so happy when I picked her up… so I was crying over nothing 🤣🤣

Jary6 · 03/09/2021 20:24

@Joey86 you and I sound very similar. I've had a cold for about 7 weeks now and yesterday I started a 5 day course of antibiotics as the midwife wasn't happy with my cough. I had a PCR test yesterday and came back negative but just haven't been able to shift this cough.

I'm really hoping the antibiotics kick in for tonight so I can sleep through the night because coughing has kept me up every few hours for the past few weeks.

Squibble84 · 03/09/2021 22:52

@Taybz lower back pain can be a sign of early labour. Do you know what position your baby is in - if they’re back to back? Braxton hicks tends to be when your stomach goes rock hard for a while before softening again. It can feel uncomfortable but not really painful - at least that’s what mine are like anyway!

TMI but I’ve been getting lots of pressure/stabbing pain in my bum, it’s really uncomfortable to sit down, hoping this is another sign that things are starting to happen! 🤞

SP2Bx · 03/09/2021 23:03

So exciting reading about things starting to ramp up for people, can't wait until it's my turn! But have to say I'm 37+2 and totally not ready to serve the eviction notice just yet! I want to enjoy a couple of weeks just chilling and enjoying time with the OH just the two of us before our lives change forever! Is that bad?! Anyone else? 🙈

Scotti84 · 03/09/2021 23:08

@Squibble84 about 80% of my contractions were in my bum, started off feeling like pressure and then got more and more painful. The ones at the front were like period pain.

Moominmiss · 03/09/2021 23:37

Hi everyone!

Congratulations to all the new mums and babies!!

I had my little boy this morning (37+4) by planned c section.

He arrived at 9.50am weighing 7lb 5oz and he’s just perfect!

His name is Dexter 💙

Taybz · 03/09/2021 23:44

Thanks @Squibble84 I'm not sure whether he is back to back but I do get sharp stabbing pains in the bum as well as the rock hard tensing of my bump. Wonder if that means I'm close?!

Taybz · 03/09/2021 23:45

@Moominmiss congrats! Hope you're both doing well x

AdventuresAwait · 04/09/2021 00:15

Congratulations @Moominmiss! Fab news xx

And thanks everyone for the lovely words and best wishes xx

Krista1991 · 04/09/2021 03:02

Thank you everyone 🥰😍🙏🏻

Still can’t believe she is here and the membrane sweep worked well with the first time 🙂

leftitlate37 · 04/09/2021 04:30

Oh wow I've missed loads!!! Congrats @Krista1991 @Scotti84 @AdventuresAwait and @Moominmiss, the best news! Fab pics and gorgeous names, hope ur all doing Well! Sorry to hear bout the experience..was it you @scotti84 who had a bit of a time,?
We also had trouble pushing, makes sense now I understand why I felt like was getting nowhere as he'd turned face up. Suction cup was worst and also best thing. Didn't want to be cut.....but obv other plans and the relief when Doctor pulled and I pushed and his head came out!!
Have to agree with the post birth shower looking like a murder scene haha, poor hubby has seen stuff I don't think he ever should! Had quite a bit of blood loss but just been told to get iron up with diet which is good.
We r still at hospital unfortunately which is tough, really feel for all you guys who've been thru it too. Hopefully home today, I'm struggling mentally on my own at nights and there's been a lot of emotion....but feeling more positive now we've got a plan from paeds for feeding etc. Working on a name still here....loving all your gorg names!!
Take care everyone and good luck to all those still waiting, just make the most of the free time without them, never know when might get an unexpected surprise;) x

Scotti84 · 04/09/2021 06:02

@leftitlate37 yep we had an adventure. The suction cup was definitely an experience! Not one i would like to repeat but at the point it was needed it did its job.

One thing no one tells you is the bloody pain and recovery from a normal birth! I heard loads about c section pain and recovery, and obviously thats different as its an op, but I was somehow naively not really aware of how immobile i am! The bleeding, the pain in the bum, the stitches, its not as easy as i thought with a natural birth. Not trying to scare anyone, but any other ftms that arent aware, prepare to be in pain and knackered afterwards, and invest in a birthing ball, thats the only thing i can sit on atm, chairs are too hard for my destroyed pelvic bone 😅

unicornpower · 04/09/2021 09:03

@SP2Bx not bad at all! I’ve slotted in some bits between now and Thursday to enjoy our time together! Got to make the most of it I’d say Grin

primhutch · 04/09/2021 10:45

Hi Everyone! Congratulations to everyone who's had their beautiful babies!!

Anyone else past due date? I'm 40+3 today and so fed up.

Had a sweep on Thursday morning nothing has come of it, they won't let me have another sweep until 41 weeks. I just want her here now 😢

KHR1 · 04/09/2021 11:24

@primhutch I'm 40+3 too! Had a failed sweep on Tuesday, cervix was soft but high so they couldn't do it. Waiting to be induced today but haven't had a call yet

KHR1 · 04/09/2021 15:15

My induction has been pushed back to at least tomorrow as they are running so behind. They've still got 5 people from yesterday that haven't been in yet :(

primhutch · 04/09/2021 16:12

@KHR1 they won't induce me until 10 days overdue, how come you're allowed now? I feel like every midwife is different with their rules lol

Crossing my fingers she gets a move on this weekend!! Hopefully we will both have our babies soon.

All my friends jokes is be a 42 weeker because I'm always late to everything and I'm worrying it might be true haha

Joey86 · 04/09/2021 16:21

40+2 toady, went into assessment unit with reduced movements this morning. Now waiting for space on delivery suite to have my waters broken.
I'm 3cm dilated, bishop score is 9, and I'm having regular painful contractions.
Baby's heart rate was ok on the trace, but he's still not moving much, and as I'm full term they are happy to move things along.

Krista1991 · 04/09/2021 16:24

I’ve had my first sweep on Tuesday ,my mucus plug went a few hours later, then moore bleeding the next day -a few hours later on Wednesday my waters broke and ,went to the hospital soon after, and was induced and on Thursday evening she was here 😃💖

Congratulations to all the mommies and babies 🎉🎉🎉

primhutch · 04/09/2021 16:24

@Joey86 aw hope it goes okay for you - good luck

Did the contractions start after you went in with reduced movement?

Joey86 · 04/09/2021 16:39

@primhutch thank you. I've been having stop/start contractions for a couple of weeks, but today they've been pretty strong. I've had 5 sweeps, lost my plug, and had a pessary induction last week which didn't work. 🤪
I don't know what's made my contractions pick up today, but I'm so ready for this baby!
They wanted to induce me early because of pelvic pain, and history of pnd, plus history of babies with menconium.
