Thanks everyone for the replies.. My midwife appointments were all cancelled when i was changed to consultant led. I still get urine and bp checked at scans but no discussion with midwives.
Hopefully at my next scan there will be more discussion.

@bubbles1st i would definitely go in for peace of mind. Better going to get checked than worrying about it

Scotti84 · 04/08/2021 10:37

Thank you all for the responses about induction, i was really against it, but the recovery time for a c section is playing massively on my mind. I'd be kept im hospital for at least 4 days, hubby cant stay with me, so its less time he will have with baby, plus when i'm at home how will i get around the next to me bed, getting in and out, and lifting her etc, part of me thinks go for induction with epidural and then when she's here the worst is over. Its just so stressful knowing what to do for the best, especially as she could come of her own accord earlier or the induction might not work and i'd have to have a c section anyway... sorry for the verbal diarrhoea, it kind of helps to get it all out

FTEngineerM · 04/08/2021 11:08

To be honest @Scotti84 I found getting around the Next2Me excruciating anyway, when all my down below muscles had been stretched. It was quite a few weeks before I didn’t notice it anymore, maybe 3.

Suma2021 · 04/08/2021 12:14

Hi @Bubbles1st, Sorry you're feeling worried about this. I think in your position I would go in for some additional monitoring until you feel reassured this is his new movement pattern/ routine. Sounds like a faff to make the trip to hospital to do so, but at least you can have some peace of mind. Can I ask what his previous patterns were? Do you tend to be awake during the night and feeling him?

I know movements can change in the third trimester, whilst you're not meant to have "reduced" movements per say. Sometimes I go a few days where I feel he's really low down, putting pressure on my pelvis, and his movements get really soft and I hardly notice them. Then one day he shifts up again and I feel stronger movements! But I hardly feel much during the day - he saves his wiggling for the night. Still very responsive though during the day - I.e I'll have a cold drink or something sweet and he starts wiggling.

Jay3004 · 04/08/2021 12:46

@Bubbles1st if I was in your position I’d go for the extra monitoring. I’m a total overthinker and it would help put my mind at ease. My baby also has a similar movement pattern but he’s been like that all the way through and I rarely feel him during the day.

@Scotti84 I’m having a c section and I was actually just saying to my Mum this morning that I’m not sure how I’ll get round the next to me. I think it will need to go at my partner’s side of the bed to start with.

Bubbles1st · 04/08/2021 12:52

Thanks ladies, after a friend just messaged to say she had her baby this morning at 34+2 and two very sad still birth stories in the GD
Group on FB I rang the assessment centre.

Que barrage of questions which make me feel like time waster for her to then tell me that the unit is full and they are not seeing anyone at the moment, but they will speak to labour ward and see if they can see me or if I have to go to another hospital.

This stress Is exactly the reason I was doubting whether to call because now I'm in floods of tears that I can't just 'nip' and be checked.

Really hoping labour ward will see me as I really don't want to have to travel 45mins plus to another hospital. Because if he isn't ok I don't want to be that far from home.

Fingers crossed he is just being very lazy again, not sure I can handle another 5 weeks of us or isn't he moving.

AdventuresAwait · 04/08/2021 13:43

Oh I'm sorry to hear that @Bubbles1st. I hope you hear from someone and they can see you nearby.

I'm not on Facebook so don't see the GD group there. Two still births due to GD?

SillyBry · 04/08/2021 13:52

@Bubbles1st I really hope they can see you.

My movement certainly feels different now... I'm 35 weeks and it can be a lot more subtle, if that makes sense? During the day, movements feel a lot more "internal", so my tummy isn't moving, but I can feel baby wriggling/squirming away when I sit down and think about it... but it tends to be only at bedtime or at 3am when I get feet protruding etc.
It's such a worry though - I spend half my time being paranoid that I should be worrying it. Especially if I've been busy in the day and not had the time to focus on my tummy.

Honestly, these babies send us grey before they are even born!!

Noodles4Me · 04/08/2021 13:59

Oh @Bubbles1st, I'm sending you good vibes, it's so stressful isn't it? At the end of the day if you need to go to a different hospital then you need to, as long as you and the baby are okay. xx

Had my final growth scan, baby all good and estimated at 6lbs with 2 weeks to go. Had pre-op. Just not looking forward to isolating after this weekend due to having to take covid test 48 hours before OP. If positive I'll be last on list and will have to stay in for two nights instead of one! Shock

Bubbles1st · 04/08/2021 13:59

Thanks they called and I've just arrived, however if anything is wrong I will have to be transferred...just waiting to be hooked up.

@AdventuresAwait it doesn't give specifics about the reason or cause but they just happen to have GD and are in the group. Sorry didn't mean to cause any upset I know we are battling with enough issues without that worry on our mind.

AdventuresAwait · 04/08/2021 14:07

Glad you're being seen @Bubbles1st. Let us know how you get on xx

Out of interest, does anyone else get lots of movement in the day rather than at night? For me, babies movements have got stronger and are throughout the day but, reading on here, it seems this isn't usual? Xx

Scotti84 · 04/08/2021 14:14

@AdventuresAwait yep, i have a bit on a morning when i wake up, then like now and for the last hour shes been kicking and bubbling away, then she'll quieten down a bit until evening, then a bit on a night but the most is deffo through the day.

Ive got bad back pain today too, and cramps, thinking they might be Braxton Hicks but not sure. Another question for the dr tomorrow!

FTEngineerM · 04/08/2021 14:19

Glad you went in @Bubbles1st trust your instincts ❤️.

bewitchingnight · 04/08/2021 14:21

Glad you're there ok @Bubbles1st hope everything is alright.

Newmum110 · 04/08/2021 14:44

Definitely trust your instincts, will probably turn out to be perfectly fine but no point stressing yourself with worry.
I'm telling you we worry about them from the moment we conceive until the very end!!!!!!

Jay3004 · 04/08/2021 14:47

@Noodles4Me I just got a letter through this morning with my pre-op covid test appointment. Wasn’t sure what the process would be if I tested positive?

Kat1112025 · 04/08/2021 15:01

Hope everything is ok @Bubbles1st

My little dude is also mainly active at night/just before bed. It does make it stressful to monitor movements at the time I'm trying to relax and sleep.

AdventuresAwait · 04/08/2021 15:07

Ok thanks @Scotti84! Just wondered if I was the only one to feel baby through the day and not at night! I guess they all have their own routine xx

Bubbles1st · 04/08/2021 15:22

All ok, In fact he moved in the 10 minutes I was on the monitor that in the last 5 days. I think he responds to the pressure of the belts.

However when I on the monitor Saturday night the monitor logged movement at a rate of 10 movements per hour, today it was 64! The midwife just said he obviously is more active today. Well no shit Sherlock but not sure what the reason is. Also machine logged 3 contractions in 3 minutes I'll add, I mentioned to her I wasn't sure if I'd been having braxton hicks or not and again this wasn't even mentioned...

She said that my extra appointment for Monday to check the fluid and cord hadn't been booked and they are a sonographer down so scans have been prioritised and because I have one on the 16th it's been deemed I don't need one Monday too. Which gives me mixed feelings as why the me I needed one in the first place to then not be a priority.

However I am instead booked for further monitoring saturday, Monday and next Friday just to keep an eye on things.

I mean I'm grateful everything seems fine and baby is ok of course but I just feel like these last few weeks are going to more stressful and anxious than I had hoped and it's really getting me down. When in my little world I was hoping the last few weeks of not working and being ready would be more chilled and exciting. Naive of me maybe.

Scotti84 · 04/08/2021 15:31

@Bubbles1st glad to hear hes okay. I don't think the drs and nurses think it through when they say to book you in for extra appts and then just like that you dont need it now... to them its probably all normal procedure but to us every little worry can so easily escalate with a throwaway phrase or word from a doc. Youre not the only one with the worry, ive been ok for the last month or so but now its getting close my fears have ramped up again, just want her here safe now! Hang on in there and keep us updated with how things are going xx

AdventuresAwait · 04/08/2021 15:45

Glad to hear he's OK @Bubbles1st and that you have some extra monitoring. Another worrier here! But trying hard to relax and focus on the excitement. Easier said than done though! Not long to go xx

CobleCloud · 04/08/2021 15:48

Just been catching up lots going on ladies.

@Bubbles1st glad he is all ok.. If it helps a little bit my little man seems to respond more when I'm been prodded or poked by the midwife or when I went in for reduced movements and had the straps on too. Hang in there it know it's hard and these medical professionals don't always come across the friendliest or the most caring and we have lots of waiting around and appts moved etc! But not to get yourself down *virtual hugs. 🥰

KHR1 · 04/08/2021 15:51

@AdventuresAwait I seem to get more movement during the day too, and they have definitely got stronger.

@Bubbles1st glad you managed to get checked out and that baby was okay but sorry you've been left feeling stressed out. Doesn't sound helpful that they never booked the appointment you were due to have.

Sophieandtiger · 04/08/2021 15:59

Been catching up on this thread and can't believe how close we are getting ahhhhh!

@AdventuresAwait I'm definitely getting most movement during the day. I do sleep pretty soundly most nights though so not sure if baby is inactive then or I'm too asleep to notice! Movement in the day is pretty constant though and as I read that they are meant to be asleep 95% of the time I'm getting worried that something is wrong. Its just never ending worry. Anyone elsehas a constant wriggler? I could only feel DC 1 in the evening for a couple of hours so this is new to me...

Noodles4Me · 04/08/2021 16:06

@Sophieandtiger yes mine! He wriggles constantly, which is a good thing I guess! Anytime of day, he doesn't care!

@Jay3004 my trust will still do section if covid test positive, just become the last on the list instead of first...:(
