@Clouless that’s definitely a silver lining! We were out to dinner last night and hubby had a phone call to ask about his contact with a colleague as 2 members of staff have now tested positive. Scary how quickly it rattles around once it gets in.
They’ve sent the whole of year 10 home as there were so many isolating they wanted to stop the spread.
My 4 year old had to have a COVID test yesterday as she’s started coughing. Thankfully she’s negative, but trying to swab a screaming 4 year old is not good for the nerves!

MrsTD88 · 27/06/2021 21:14

There must be something with all the restrictions lifting. I was supposed to be in the office a few days this week and then exclusively working from home from next week when I hit 28 weeks. Got a call from one of our Directors today to advise someone has tested positive at work so I am now full time from home again. Don't think I'll be back in the office this year now but better to be safe. The girl who tested positive has had her first vaccine which is so scary.

Kirky658 · 27/06/2021 21:44

@mrstd88 sounds like you're definitely better off at home! I will also be exclusively staying home for my final 6 weeks at work now. We are going away for a few days to Wales for our anniversary beginning of August but plan to cancel if things go mad cases wise again.

I'm struggling like mad with a horrendous headache today, had paracetamol, used 4head roll on, just won't budge. So early night for me I think.

MrsTD88 · 27/06/2021 22:01

@Kirky658 definitely, don't want to have to isolate now especially with having GTT and a growth scan next week. It's so hard to plan things just now isn't it, we have a week away planned in August with my sister, her partner and kids so hoping that can go ahead. Oh no, the headaches in pregnancy can be awful at times. I find they're worse when it is really warm and dehydrated. Hopefully a good night sleep helps you.

Mamabearwhere · 27/06/2021 22:11

The cases are quite scary. Last week my sister who’s double vaccinated tested positive! She had all the symptoms and generally quite poorly. I was planning on waiting until after pregnancy to get vaccinated but now I’m thinking maybe I should go get my vaccine given the crazy rise again. I had Covid just before getting pregnant and when I did an antibody test last week still had very high antibodies so not sure if it would make much difference getting the vaccine either way.

GWhiteley · 27/06/2021 22:20

I have to say, I feel safer at the office than I do in the supermarket. We have a strict one-way system, only one in the toilet at a time & same for any kitchen. We all sit on a bank of six desks on our own & no one gets nearer than 2 meters to me.

I literally can't work at home as my dining room chairs are so uncomfy that I was getting sever back ache. Been so much better since being in the office. Plus it's only 6 weeks till I finish, that'll zoom by I'm sure!

My mind is still set on waiting until baby is born until having the jab, though I don't judge anyone that has decided to have it. I think it's such a personal decision, you have to do what's right for you right now

SillyBry · 28/06/2021 11:05

It's scary how quickly the cases seem to be whizzing round at the moment. My mum just keeps saying how she can't wait for me to have my 2nd jab as then we're all vaccinated!

I'm feeling awful today - 4 year old was awake coughing with hot sweats and shivers from 3.30am... so I'm now trying to work on a cotton wool/tired head, headache and look after her whilst she's off sick. I'm hoping we both manage a nap, but I'm not counting on it! ;-)
Ah mum life is so fun!

Kirky658 · 28/06/2021 11:29

@sillybry ahhh nooo! Hope little one feels better soon. I've still got the remainder of this bloody headache from yesterday it's driving me mad. Had a 30 min snooze pre work which took it off a bit but had a conf call just, really annoyed about stuff, so it's back with a vengeance now. 6 weeks to go...

Mamabearwhere · 28/06/2021 13:14

There must be some kind of headache trend at the start of 3rd trimester. I’ve also woken up with the worst headache this morning, feels really intense almost migraine like. I’ve had to take 2 paracetamols and it’s taken the edge off but still quite horrendous. Came out of no where and been drinking loads etc so not dehydrated.

SillyBry · 28/06/2021 13:29

I've also got the headache... I actually felt hungover on Sunday morning! But I can't be!!! ;-)
I put it down to poorly child and lack of sleep, but I'm happy to blame the pregnancy too! ;-)

bluemagicalsky · 28/06/2021 13:37

I'm also waking up with headaches recently. I think it might be because the weather is that bit warmer and the bedroom gets quite stuffy overnight. 28 weeks tomorrow!

Kirky658 · 28/06/2021 13:44

Glad it's not just me on the headache front ladies! I already can't wait to get this baby out 🤣 I'll be 29 weeks on Wednesday.

Kirky658 · 28/06/2021 19:16

Ladies, any suggestions for nighties?! Struggling to find any that are cheap.

GWhiteley · 28/06/2021 19:19

@Kirky658 have you had a look on the matalan website? Someone suggested there though haven't looked myself yet

crobo87 · 28/06/2021 19:26

@Kirky658 Asda & Matalan I've got some from x

Bubbles1st · 28/06/2021 19:37

@Kirky658 do you have a pep and co? I bought some cheap straps nighties in a couple sizes up, nice and roomy and will be good for night feeding too.

Mamabearwhere · 28/06/2021 19:40

Happy mama have some nice and affordable night dresses that are also breastfeeding friendly

bewitchingnight · 28/06/2021 19:44

I got a couple from M&S, just chemise style ones in a bigger size than normal, only £9.50

Noodles4Me · 28/06/2021 20:06

Evening all. Had my first trip to MAC due to reduced movements. Thankfully all is well. Baby is back to back, hence my hip pain. And I'm dehydrated so my own fault really Sad

So relieved.

As for nighties, I stuck to ASOS, but there seems to be a shortage of black maternity knickers anywhere. 32 weeks Thursday, hoping consultant will book the ELCS so I don't have any more anxiety.

God I need wine....if only!

Kirky658 · 28/06/2021 20:27

Thanks for the suggestions girls. DH just suggested getting some in a bigger size so will do that - we do have a big pep and Co nearby too!

@Noodles4Me glad all is OK. Rest up. X

GWhiteley · 28/06/2021 20:36

@Noodles4Me I went a couple of weeks ago for the same reason & it was one of the hot days we had.

She asked if I'd drink much & I admitted I hadn't as I'd had a midwife app & meetings & hadn't drink anywhere near enough. She made me drink a tonne of water & stay connected to the machine for an hr & low & behold movement increased loads within that time.

Doesn't change the fact you're worried about it, so I'm glad they were able to reassure you & baby is fine 😊

CherLW · 28/06/2021 20:55

@Kirky658 I’ve never really got much from boohoo so don’t know what it’s like but there is a sale and I just saw lots of button down maternity nighties in lots of patterns. They look good

MrsTD88 · 28/06/2021 21:28

@Noodles4Me glad all is ok with baby and you. Make sure you get plenty of rest.

crobo87 · 28/06/2021 23:34

My lower back is in absolute bits constantly. Any suggestions anyone?

I've had the birthing ball out which helps for short periods but otherwise I'm struggling. Probably not helped by the arthritis in my lower left back 🙈

GWhiteley · 29/06/2021 08:12

@crobo87 I went to see a physio about my back pain & she gave me some stretches to do which I actually found really helpful.

Have a look at this website, the cat cow & childs pose were the two suggested to me & the physio said they're fine for pregnant women. I've found them really helpful:
