@CherLW sorry I didn't see that. Have you found anything that helps?

Hmmm I think I'll try out a support band and see if it does anything. I'm only 25weeks, I don't want another 15+ of it hurting to walk 😬

Kirky658 · 15/06/2021 14:58

@kat1112025 yep. If I do a lot of walking it just aches. Find if I sit down or have a bath, that helps.

AdventuresAwait · 15/06/2021 15:12

@CherLW, yes I'll get some advice thanks. Just had a call from the diabetic clinic about when I need to give birth etc and now in tears. Want to talk to the consultant soon.

@Kat1112025, yes my bump is achy and a different pain to the round ligament pain.

bewitchingnight · 15/06/2021 15:42

@CherLW glad you appointment went ok, it sounds like you got a lot of info! Fingers crossed for your first few days of monitoring

@GWhiteley how rubbish they didn't get in touch with you properly! It's overwhelming at first isn't it x

@AdventuresAwait oh no, are you ok?

CherLW · 15/06/2021 15:42

@AdventuresAwait oh nooo I’m so sorry, it’s emotional isn’t it having something like this to deal with. What did they say about you giving birth? Will they induce you a little earlier?

@Kat1112025 I didn’t end up doing anything as it’s on and off.. I was looking at those support bands you can buy but I don’t know if they are any good… I didn’t want to get a belt. I did some pregnancy yoga last night which stretched me out a tiny bit and I feel quite good today!

SillyBry · 15/06/2021 16:03

Hope everyone is feeling ok... I'm 28 weeks today and oddly, my PGP and SPD pains have felt better in the last week than they have in weeks! I did a 5km run and a 5km walk yesterday and am not crippled today! I feel a bit better than I have done in weeks.
I'm sure it'll be short lived, but I'll appreciate it whilst it lasts! ;-)

AdventuresAwait · 15/06/2021 16:13

Thanks @CherLW and @bewitchingnight.
They said induction at 38 weeks max, regardless of scans or blood results. They also increased my tablet dose even though my results are within range now.
Waiting for an appointment with the consultant at clinic so I can get more info. Felt like it was quite a different conversation to the ones I had last week.

leftitlate37 · 15/06/2021 16:33

hey all! Sorry for those of you with some additional worries at the mo with GD.
hows everyone finding this heat?
Congrats @SillyBry great to hear you r feeling physically good! fingers crossed it lasts! I havent run since i was last on here last week! but plenty of swimming which im loving! ill try running again when it cools down, its just TOO HOT!
had my 28w appt today, whooping cough jab was fine - im such a wuss though getting worked up about it! clearly gonna have 2 deal with much worse than that tho! Got referred for a growth scan tomorrow, am bit worried but not 2 worried as midwife said more a formality due to actual measurement and she said it all feels like it should to her . Trying to just be glad i get to see him again, and not work myself up over it all. HR etc was all fine today and hes been wiggling around so fingers crossed.
anyone else finding baby is super active in evening and all night and proper stopping a nice night sleep?! best not be a sign of his awake /sleep routines when he arrives!!!

CherLW · 15/06/2021 17:09

@AdventuresAwait that sounds odd if it’s different to what you’ve already been told… especially that your results are in range!
You would think if all was ok then they wouldn’t want to induce at 38wks. Hopefully a chat with the consultant will help and clear things up in your mind. I have to keep telling myself they are only doing these things because it’s best for baby and me.
It’s hard but try and keep your chin up xx

AdventuresAwait · 15/06/2021 17:14

Thank you @CherLW. I just hoped they'd wait to see how my bloods go, what medication I need and how the growth scans look.

Definitely want the best for baby and will do all I can x

CherLW · 15/06/2021 17:20

@AdventuresAwait They haven’t said anything to me about tablets yet but guess that will be after the initial 7-10 days of testing.

It will all be ok, just think as positive as you can xx

SillyBry · 15/06/2021 17:40

@leftitlate37 it’s flipping boiling isn’t it?! I’m not keen on this hot weather... I literally ran/walked loops of the woods to stay out of the sun! 🤣

I hope the growth scan goes well - I think the whole fundal measurement thing is so “estimated”, so I wouldn’t worry too much!
I’ve got my 28 week check on Friday - will be nice to see the midwife... I’ve not been since 16 weeks!
Don’t worry, when labour comes, your adrenaline will drive you through! It was a bit like a marathon... eat and hydrate well and you’ll keep plodding to the finish line! 😉🤣

crobo87 · 15/06/2021 18:01

@leftitlate37 I'm struggling in the heat. I've not managed to be able to stay outside for more than half hour at a time. The fan is my best friend lol.

Hope growth scan goes well tomorrow xx

Jay3004 · 15/06/2021 18:24

It seems there’s finally a benefit to a Scottish Summer… no heat at all here Grin

Hopefulmummie · 15/06/2021 20:53

I had my 25 week antenatal appointment today (even though I'm 27 weeks) everything all good with baby got to listen to heartbeat and midwife said she's lying across atm.
She's referred me for my growth scans due to my 2 vessel cord and should be getting them every 3 weeks from next week

SillyBry · 15/06/2021 20:59

@Jay3004 you lucky thing!! We’re due a sweltering day tomorrow and then storms. I may spend tomorrow sat in the paddling pool 🤣🤣

RadDarwazeh · 15/06/2021 21:47

This heat is something else girls. It's so hard.

Sorry to change subject but I need to rant/tell someone?

I had my first midwife appt. Went well. My job is part retail part seeing patients in clinic - about 18 a day. Within 1 metre. The midwife asked what my plans were at 28 weeks. She advised to stop working due to the nature of my job and because of my job I can't work from home or be relocated to something else in store so govt guidelines says I should be suspended on full pay. Hurray!

But. I feel like I'm going to have to fight my corner at work maybe? Who knows. I sent them a letter today outlining the advice including links and they are going to sit down with me this week so I'll keep you updated.

I'm just nervous. They said they'll follow guidelines. But I'm STILL nervous!

GWhiteley · 15/06/2021 22:24

Today was slightly cooler here so more manageable, but go's knows what it's going to be like for the next 2 months when summer really ramps up! Would it be unfair to wish for a slightly cooler summer this year? 😂

For those with gd, I added a link to a website that I found...but since then been on the official diabetes uk website & there seems to be some conflicts on information. Not helpful! I'm hoping the dietician will be able to clear some things up on Thursday. Missing my mini choc bar each day already!

SP2Bx · 16/06/2021 08:23

Looks like some cooler temps are on the way anyway ladies, hang in there! Even if it's just a little break from the heat... I love the sun 🙈

@RadDarwazeh You never know, they might be fantastic about it! If they've said they will follow the guidance then you have to take them at face value for now and try not to worry as hopefully (and sounds like) they're up for playing ball, but naturally they're gonna need to talk to you about it!!! Lucky you, I'm counting down the days to finish 🙈 Let us know how the meeting goes when it happens!

Scotti84 · 16/06/2021 09:17

Hi ladies, just managed to catch up, my life is work and sleep atm.

On GD, i spoke to my doc who said its not yet officially confirmed, the results were higher than they should be from the first test so I have an appt with a diabetic clinic to do the 2nd test and I'll get the results straight away. I feel a bit better knowing I cant change if i have it or not but that I can control it, so will try stay calm for that one.

Heat - its 30 degrees here and I cant cope! Plus i I hay-fever which is just delightful. Im just happy i have no work uniform, I'm living in floaty dresses, not the smartest look for work but that's the least of my problems.

Wedding dresses - does anyone know where the hell to find one? Preferably a line knee length, nice but not traditional. I finally got my paperwork from England, Germany have accepted it, it just needs to be approved by the High Court and then we can get married and my partner will have full parental rights to our child. Its probably going to be about 6 weeks before my due date, we're just doing it in the registry office with no guests, my dad and sister aren't allowed over atm so we'll do a proper wedding next year or something, but I'd like a nice white dress, just not having much luck, they're either full on bridal and cost a few hundred or they're too casual. Any tips would be massively appreciated!

Noodles4Me · 16/06/2021 09:21

@Scotti84 I got married a few weeks back, 27 week bump. Try Tiffany Rose. Gorgeous maternity dresses and not extortionate...ship world wide Smile

Scotti84 · 16/06/2021 09:24

@Noodles4Me oh congratulations! Thank you, I'll have a look! X

Sillysocks998 · 16/06/2021 10:16

Morning Ladies. Yes the heat is a killer right now. I'm going to struggle. We've got 26 degrees here! I was just going to ask, about discharge! 😒. Does anyone's have a slightly browny tint. A slight tinge? A smell but not horrendous. I can't work out if it's blood. It's much less than end of start of a period. I have mw app today so I'll ask her too. Any ideas? X

GummyBear91 · 16/06/2021 13:23

Hi all!!

I've been out of the loop for a few weeks as works been manic and we have been decorating the house frantically before baby arrives Grin

I'm 25w4d and generally doing ok. I had a condition called costochondritis which affects the ligaments that hold my ribs together years ago and that's flaired up again but only when I stand up for a period of time i.e. cooking dinner. Otherwise touch wood no issues showing up yet.

I'm slightly anxious about the third trimester. I keep getting told how tired I'm going to be by people but wondered how everyone who is slightly ahead of me or had previous babies are finding it? My first trimester was AWFUL and I am anxious about going so far backwards after having a relatively painless second trimester.

Am I alone in this?

@Sillysocks998 I haven't had any experience but I think I'd be checking in with my midwife just incase. Hope all is well Smile

CherLW · 16/06/2021 14:00

Any GD ladies there who are experiencing similar?? I have no done my blood sugar tests 7 times since yesterday morning… eating what I would normally eat I would say (minus any chocolate) and all my results are below 6.0… I thought they would be higher as I have been diagnosed with it?

I also had a midwife appointment today and they measured the bump and it’s showing at 28 weeks and im 28+5… so baby size isn’t bigger (yet) in anyway.
All just so confusing!!
