@Noodles4Me I was told I'm a carrier of Strep B, didn't give me antibiotics though as I was told that was only if it was in your urine. They're putting me on IV antibiotics during labour. Hope yours gets better though!

@sophieandtiger yeah it's as others have said, for me both parents are type 2 diabetic so I might be more at risk. With the amount of crap I've been eating I wouldn't be surprised!

SP2Bx · 08/06/2021 18:58

I was wondering about the glucose test too as hadn't heard anything about it, but got offered it today because my BMI is close to the limit so she said I may as well have it just in case!

Fingers crossed it all comes back ok, my sister had GD in her pregnancy but all was fine. It's not until next week.

AdventuresAwait · 08/06/2021 19:07

All the best for tomorrow @Allicit x

@Bubbles1st, I've really tried to change my diet too and hoping it's actually going to really help me with my choices, including after pregnancy. Doing it for baby is such an incentive as I've tried to eat better previously but never had the will power. I have done well today and I know it's thinking about her that is my motivation. Trying to think positively!

Bubbles1st · 08/06/2021 19:10

@AdventuresAwait yes me too! I'm a big girl and if I knew we would fall pregnant I would have definitely been healthier but we didn't think it was on the cards for us :)

I was already pleased I'd only put 5kg on so far as I was worried I'd ballon but I haven't, so this is actually a great opportunity to get healthy for baby and beyond. Good luck.

@Scotti84
I'll have a look for that programme. I saw milk formula kendamil. It's pricey. But free from fish oil and palm. Organic and vegetarian. Produced in UK. It also uses full cream of milk. So I'm hoping it'll help baby gain some weight. Check it out if anyone is interested.
I'll ask about glucose test. No one has mentioned it to me. Goodluck
With this. I hope you can do this with good choices in diet alone.
It's getting hotter later this week😬

AdventuresAwait · 08/06/2021 19:31

Good luck to you too @Bubbles1st! Nice that we can all encourage each other 😊

Noodles4Me · 08/06/2021 20:15

@Kirky658 yeah, don't know if I'm a carrier or if I'm getting it from DH. It's in my urine for the second time so likely to keep happening. No one is interested in testing and treating DH though so bound to come back.

Pregnancy massage was lovely. I do recommend Smile

Kirky658 · 08/06/2021 20:22

@Noodles4Me gah what a nightmare! You'd think if it kept coming back they'd investigate it further but what do we know...glad the massage was good 😁

FTEngineerM · 08/06/2021 21:51

Don’t worry about weight gain, they’ll all do the same thing in that respect, nutritional values are almost identical on every one, they have to be. Doesn’t matter the brand/particular milk.

That’s Kendamil compared with cow and gate as an example.

FTEngineerM · 08/06/2021 21:51

Oops that was for @Sillysocks998

Sillysocks998 · 08/06/2021 23:27

Thanks @FTEngineerM
They probably vary a lot in price too. The kendamil one is still in the running as its produced here in UK, free from palm and fish oil. I hope my child will be a vegetarian too.
Thank you for sharing.
Can I ask if its not too rude, how much weight has everyone gained since start of pregnancy? I've gone from 51.5kg to 57.6kg so far

CherLW · 09/06/2021 06:19

@Sillysocks998 I got weighed at 11+6 and when I was in hospital with reduced movements at 27+3 and I’ve put on 4kg… which shocked me as I thought it would be much more!

Bubbles1st · 09/06/2021 07:41

@Sillysocks998 I have gained 4.5kg since my booking appointment (I hadn't noticed any gain prior to this) I am also pleasantly surprised. I am hoping I will not gain much more with the GD diagnosis.

We will see.

Sillysocks998 · 09/06/2021 08:08

Morning Ladies. Oh so not too much which is good. I don't know where all my weight is 👀😬. Its all gone to my face knowing my luck lol. With me still having 3 months ill probably be 63kg plus something!

MrsTD88 · 09/06/2021 08:16

@Sillysocks998 at my last appointment I had lost in total 5kg since my booking appointment! Not worried because that happened last time too and I gained all my weight in third trimester. I have been making conscious changes since the beginning as I am worried about GD. Got my test in a few weeks (05 July) when I'll be 28 weeks. I think the lack of wine at the weekend is definitely contributing too 🤣🙈

bewitchingnight · 09/06/2021 08:26

Between 5 and 6kg for me although I wish I hadn't weighed myself because it's made me feel a bit stressed so I think I'll put the scales away now!

Sillysocks998 · 09/06/2021 09:01

Oh no don't worry about weight gain right now. Embrace the body and enjoy it. It's not all your own weight anyway. I'm not too worried just yet.

Kirky658 · 09/06/2021 09:03

I think I've put roughly 8kg on which tbh is a bit scary!!!! But trying not to think about it lol. They do say recommended weight gain is 4lbs in first trimester, then a 1lb a week thereafter so I should have put on about 16lb so I'm not too worried.

Bubbles1st · 09/06/2021 09:12

Remember blood and fluid usually adds more weight than the baby! Don't worry right now at all.

OP posts:
RaeRae84 · 09/06/2021 09:13

I can't believe anyone is weighing themselves. I would cry if I did 😆🙈 I haven't seen my weight since 12 weeks and I don't plan on getting on the scales until January as I know I get obsessed!

SP2Bx · 09/06/2021 09:19

I've gained 3kg since booking appointment (now 25 weeks), but not worried at all - we've got a lot going on in there!!!

Taybz · 09/06/2021 10:17

I've put on about 6 kilos 😫 People have finally piped down with their annoying comments related to my weight which is a relief for now at least! I was even called overweight at size 10!! I'm just focusing on staying healthy now for my baby and not worrying as much about the weight. Hopefully it'll drop off soon after birth. Seeing unrealistic celeb photos don't help though do they?

www.independent.co.uk/life-style/piers-morgan-emily-ratajkowski-baby-b1861561.html

Bloody hell!

Bubbles1st · 09/06/2021 10:22

@Taybz well I've never looked like that in my life so I certainly don't expect to after a baby so I'm not too worried 🤣

If anything on Instagram I've noticed a Trent of lots of celebs doing post partum shots of the real life baby belly. They don't make me feel
Much better as they are still so bloated and I'm dreading how I will actually look and feel afterwards.

However one of my best friends says the relief of no longer being heavily pregnant is immediate (if a healthy birth without complications) so I am focusing on how I will feel rather than look all the way through until spring time!

GWhiteley · 09/06/2021 10:50

Has anyone else's ankles & feet suddenly swollen?

Sillysocks998 · 09/06/2021 11:06

@GWhiteley no but I've been checking daily.
Raise your legs on a recliner chair?
And tell MW?
