@GWhiteley so glad everything is OK X

Bubbles1st · 02/06/2021 08:32

Well I'm hoping after reading these
Comments there is hope that they go back to normal.

I might get used to them but it's the biggest change and shock so far (apart from bump) and I'm not the biggest fan..... DP on the other hand his eyes get as big as them every time he sees them 🤣🤣

unicornpower · 02/06/2021 08:47

@MrsTD88 I've also started leaking over the past week! i mentioned it to my midwife and she said they don't recommend doing anything until 36 weeks as apparently harvesting colostrum can bring on labour, if its leaking you can collect it but don't force any out if that makes sense lol

Hopefulmummie · 02/06/2021 09:08

Hi has anyone experienced reduced movements yet? I'm 25 weeks and baby has been very active up to now but past day or 2 I've noticed she hasn't been as active. I'm away for a break and have been doing more walking so wondering is this why.. Not sure whether I should contact a midife yet

GWhiteley · 02/06/2021 09:14

Thanks @CherLW I am glad I went in & the midwife couldn't have been more reassuring that I wasn't wasting their time in the slightest.
You & I are due on the same day!

@Hopefulmummie yes I had this yesterday & ended up calling & going in for a quick check as baby hadn't been moving or kicking as much as she had been. If you're feeling anxious or unsure then I would definitely call, just to set your mind at rest x

KHR1 · 02/06/2021 10:11

@MrsTD88 @unicornpower I've started leaking a bit too in the last week or so, didn't get anything until about 2 days after birth last time! It hasn't been very much but took me by surprise as I didn't know it happened so early.

CherLW · 02/06/2021 10:41

@GWhiteley I would call if I was worried. I called a 4th time and she gave me tips like down some orange juice, lay on my left etc but told me to call straight back if it still didn’t work.... luckily it did! Due date twins! ❤️

@Hopefulmummie I would just call them and double check, it will put your mind at ease and they could get you to pop in or give you some suggestions to get baby moving. ❤️

Allicit · 02/06/2021 11:20

I know it’s already come up but does anyone have advice on antenatal classes? We did an nct online taster and absolutely hated it (just hated doing online and I think had a poor instructor) and it felt awkward and horrible. But now I’m nearly 27 weeks and in full blown panic mode I don’t have anything booked. I tried to look at some others but there’re all such a similar price I’m wondering if I made a mistake? But I did really hate it. Argh. Our local nct courses seem to be pretty much full but I suspect I could get put a waiting list in case someone cancels. I’m also worried because I have a sighting more complicated pregnancy (gdm) that I’ll feel stressed and worried by being pushed for a natural birth that may not end up being possible for me? Sorry in complete freak out mode!

Squibble84 · 02/06/2021 12:02

@Allicit if you’re feeling worried, maybe a hypnobirthing class could suit? I’m very anxious about birth this time so have booked onto a hypnobirthing class. I did the Nct last time and really everything they told me, I could have read in a baby book, I just went to make friends! X

Allicit · 02/06/2021 12:17

@Squibble84 Ahh thank you! I think I actually bought a pack from positive birth company on offer yonks ago and completely forgot that’s a really good idea thank you. Do you have any baby book recommendations? x

Noodles4Me · 02/06/2021 12:18

@Allicit, Baby Academy on FB are doing some good online classes. I've signed up for 2.

I've requested a ELCS which you are entitled to do so that might be an option for you if you don't want to risk a VB. Still won't get mine officially agreed until 32 weeks but not had any issues when discussing it so far.

I've had my 28 week scan and full check. Got UTI again, probably bloody StrepB back so suspect I will be on antibiotics shortly.

Baby is good, slightly bigger than average, long legs but everything good. Phew.

GWhiteley · 02/06/2021 12:20

@Allicit someone on here mentioned courses on mybabyacademy.co.uk & I managed to book a free workshop this Saturday. It covers the first few days after baby is born, which is one of the things I am worried about, so thought I'd give it a go. But there are more extensive workshops you can pay for if you'd rather. My next one after that is breastfeeding. My midwife said there should be some free online classes, I just haven't looked yet

Kirky658 · 02/06/2021 13:16

@hopefulmummie I have noticed whenever I'm a lot more active I don't feel her till I sit down and relax. I find it I have a cold drink, lie on my left side and concentrate i will feel her. I'm 25 weeks today, but would deffo call if you are concerned x

SillyBry · 02/06/2021 14:14

My nipples are the size of dinner plates now! They have taken over my boobs, which have also grown stupidly... They are ridiculous!!

They do go back to normal-ish... but it doesn't help my feeling of being a bit blimp like at the moment!!! ;-)

SP2Bx · 02/06/2021 15:01

@GWhiteley babyacademy who did the free baby safety course thing are also now offering free breastfeeding ones too, I've seen them advertise one this weekend which I can't make unfortunately so hope they do another!

@Allicit I'm all for the hypnobirthing. I bought the PBC online pack on offer a while back too and started it and decided it was 100% for me so found a local therapist and am now having private tailored sessions with my DP - although we're just covering a lot of the stuff I paid £12 for online to be honest 😂 I'd say 100% give the videos a watch and see how you feel after that 🙂

GWhiteley · 02/06/2021 15:22

@SP2Bx Thanks for the heads up. just had a look & they've got spaces on the 12th, which I can't do so hopefully they'll do more!

CherLW · 02/06/2021 16:09

I’ve signed up to a few baby classes on Baby Academy UK- some are free and some I’ve done the free one and then paid for a full I depth class.
Another one is The Honest Midwife on Instagram, she does some courses too and I believe one of those was free! I’ve also paid to do a hypno birthing workshop... the more I can get in the better!

Bubbles1st · 02/06/2021 16:32

Is it obvious if you are leaking fluid over urine?

I don't feel any leak, I am not missing urges to pee, I don't pee when I could or sneeze. Yet my knickers are getting damp and I'm not sure from the smell what it is....

Fun right? Any pointers those in the tho?

Kirky658 · 02/06/2021 16:41

@bubbles1st this is what I went to MAU for as I was concerned at 22 weeks. Turned out I was a sweaty mare after a run and it was sweat soaking my knickers! They said that fluid tends to have a sweet smell like digestive biscuits. If you are worried or concerned like I was MAU will be able to advise. Make sure you put a Pantyliner on so they can test it if you go down that route. Xx

bluemagicalsky · 02/06/2021 16:58

🙋🏼‍♀️ Also hating my new boobs over here! Want my fried eggs back! 🙈

CherLW · 02/06/2021 17:01

I know there was only discussions about this yesterday but still don’t know what to do about the Covid jab! I could have both jabs done by the birth so it would be out the way.... I either have it now or when (hopefully) breastfeeding.

Bubbles1st · 02/06/2021 17:03

@Kirky658 I did think of you, however I'm quite certain it's not sweat, I'm definitely not working one up and exercising! In fact we have got the air con out this weekend...

I will need to start wearing a liner otherwise I'll need clean knickers twice a day at this rate!

I have midwife tomorrow so I will mention it, but thanks

CherLW · 02/06/2021 17:27

@Bubbles1st I’ve been wearing a liner for a good few weeks now as it just gets ‘wetter’ down there throughout the day... think it’s just one of those normal oh so lovely symptoms!

Kirky658 · 02/06/2021 17:46

@bubbles1st likewise I'm changing my liner at least twice a day now it's grim 🤣 x

Bubbles1st · 02/06/2021 18:15

Well at least I'm in good company - just late to the party.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was like discharge but it's just clearish, think but wet! Sorry for tmi 🙈
