@KHR1 ah I didn't even think about all the blood tests, my veins are terrible too! They usually end up getting from my hand or a weird spot on my forearm. Not great when we're already going to be light headed from fasting 🙈

Taybz · 29/05/2021 01:13

Had the GTT recently and I'm bruised black and blue even through I've got very good veins. Totally agree, not a very pleasant experience. If you're going for yours, make sure you take a book or something to read though/entertain you as the 2 hour wait between the bloods feel like an eternity!

Oh and thanks ladies who advised me about the MATB1 cert. finally managed to get one and I can now get the ball rolling with HR. 😊

Sillysocks998 · 29/05/2021 12:05

Hey ladies. Long time no speak. Hope you're all OK. I just wanted to ask, I'm 23 weeks and I'm so extremely tired. To the point where I can't even get up to find food even though I need it. I feel lifeless. I can't move off the sofa. Body feels so heavy. Head feel so heavy. Is this normal? Xx

marshmallowmode · 29/05/2021 12:10

@Sillysocks998 Not sure if it's normal but I've had a few days of absolute exhaustion this week too. I've been feeling a lot less tired in the second trimester but I literally couldn't keep my eyes open at about 7pm the last few nights. I'm 22 weeks but just assuming baby's having a growth spurt or something 😂. Been tucked into bed fast asleep by 9pm.

Sillysocks998 · 29/05/2021 12:18

@marshmallowmode
Yes it could be. My belly has got bigger since 20 weeks. I just hope that by 3rd trimester were OK, because that's meant to be harder. I've just asked hubby if we can go to the chippy I am in desperate need of curry sauce! Sorry if I have made you want curry sauce lol I'm craving the saltyness. I could go back to sleep too but I hate the stiffness and feeling like I've achieved nothing. Fingers crossed we get some energy quickly x

FTEngineerM · 29/05/2021 12:36

I’ve just clambered back in bed @Sillysocks998 maybe a little tearful too because I feel so guilty about not being up and about for DS1😢. It’s like someone’s ran over me with a train. My usual go to would be a double espresso but….. that obviously off the table.

After my positivity yesterday about not being worried about movement until 28 weeks I panicked when I realised baby missed both last nights bedtime and this mornings wake up kicks!

Labour ward told me to go right in and they were lovely.

Took quite a while to find his heartbeat and felt the longest time ever, she thinks he has just sunk back a bit. Hoping I pick up movement again soon even if it is more subtle.

Naughty little chap scaring me like that, surreal to be in a delivery suite and get a sneak peak, our hospital is very dated and the room I was in didn't even have its own bathroom....
hoping even more so for midwife led unit instead!

@Bubbles1st good to hear all is ok, its so hard isn't it! They've still got a bit of room in there to move about so i guess its perfectly normal that sometimes theyll just be away from the sides where we can feel them but its such a worry! I think i need to have a 2nd baby, then ill be a bit more prepared. Must have been interesting seeing the ward though, we had a video look around last week, seems quite modeen here, and every room has a tub for a water birth if needed.

Im with you all on sleepiness and exhaustion too, thought it was just cos of the two days at work but i had yesterday and today off and i still found it hard to get up this am, i have zero motivation. Im also really crabby too, everything annoys me and i feel bad for snapping at OH but i cant help it and then i start feeling paranoid like hes gonna get sick of it n leave me for someone else which is completely irrational but I cant control these thoughts and then that makes me more annoyed. This has not been a good week for me! Hoping it passes soon!

GWhiteley · 29/05/2021 16:32

With everyone on the tired front. Was awake at 6.30am today & couldn't get back to sleep. My back & hip were aching so I got up at quarter to 8 & dusted all the downstairs but then felt knackered again. Went to have nap at 1.30pm after lunch & didn't get up again until 3.30pm! Am about to go & dust the upstairs but have zero motivation 😴

Kirky658 · 29/05/2021 17:57

Also another knackered mum to be here. We drove 2.5 hrs to my in laws this morning, I did half and DH did half. Been for a walk with them and had lunch and now it's nap time. Was awake at 3am and couldn't get back to sleep for ages.

@bubbles1st bless you hun sounds resly stressful but glad bub is OK. How many weeks are you now? I'm sure my little bugger is resting on my bladder as I need to pee constantly x

CobleCloud · 29/05/2021 18:17

Another tired pregnant lady here too 😴 left it too late for a nap today but was awake at 3am - 5am, woke up for wee, then couldn't get back to sleep was all warm and just couldn't switch my mind of anything.. work, babies etc. I'm very tired today! Still exhausted most days have in bed by 9pm!

KHR1 · 29/05/2021 20:03

@MrsTD88 having it taken from your hand and forearm doesn't sound nice at all.. Does it hurt more from there? I've been lucky that they usually manage to get one vein at the side of my elbow to trickle on the second/third attempt so they haven't had to explore too far

Also with everyone who's exhausted! By about 8pm I'm fed up and ready to go curl up in bed. Finding sleeping really uncomfortable at the moment, my pelvis gets really sore after lying down and it takes ages to get out of bed for a wee

Noodles4Me · 29/05/2021 22:36

I went for 4D scan this afternoon. It was so lovely to see the baby. He looks like me!! Also, all seems good wellbeing wise.

I'm researching nurseries for deffo now, 5 babies will be born on our street this same time, so same school year. Mine youngest. Need the spot!!

AdventuresAwait · 30/05/2021 04:08

How lovely @Noodles4Me! I'm going to book a 4D scan but am not sure when is best for good images/views. How many weeks are you? Did you get video clips?

GWhiteley · 30/05/2021 05:46

Is anyone else suddenly having awful heartburn/acid reflux all the time? I've had it throughout on a semi regular basis but the last few days have been awful. I woke up at 4.30am with bile in my mouth & had lots of acidy burps since. Not pleasant!

Noodles4Me · 30/05/2021 07:26

@AdventuresAwait I'm 27 weeks now. It's between 27 and 32 weeks that's recommended. You do get video clips via an app where they store them too.

Kirky658 · 30/05/2021 07:57

@gwhiteley yep heartburn here a lot too it's awful x

FTEngineerM · 30/05/2021 08:14

@Noodles4Me how cute, what was it like? Did you get to see much? I’ve got a code for one but I don’t know when the best time to book is, I’m 25 weeks today.

FTEngineerM · 30/05/2021 08:15

Omg sorry @AdventuresAwait literally what you just asked, I was too excited to read anymore😂

KHR1 · 30/05/2021 09:05

@GWhiteley got a lot of acid reflux here too!

A 4d scan sounds so tempting! We had one at 24 weeks with my DD but if we have one this time I'd like to wait until about 30 weeks

AdventuresAwait · 30/05/2021 09:06

Thanks @Noodles4Me! Might book one soon then. I'm 25+3 so think I'll book one for around 28 weeks. Glad you had a lovely scan and wellbeing was all good.

@FTEngineerM 🤣😊 I'm excited about a 4D scan too! Like you, I'm wondering what you get to see. I really want to see baby but read that there are better times to go as if later (which I thought would better), there's less room so pictures aren't always as good. From what I've heard/read, 27 to 29 seems best but I don't know? I'm thinking of going around 28/29 weeks. I might book for 28+4. I also saw some images online from a 25 week 4D scan and they were great so wanted to go straight away (excited!) but also want to wait a little bit so it's not so long afterwards until we meet baby (as it would be last scan unless I get sent for growth checks). What are your thoughts?

crobo87 · 30/05/2021 09:47

@GWhiteley I had a really bad night with acid reflux. Been up and down since 3pm.

I already take omeprazole because I have a hiatus hernia which causes reflux and heartburn so I'm not sure how I'm going to manage 🙈

Hopefulmummie · 30/05/2021 10:26

For anyone with pelvic girdle pain or any pelvis or back pain I would definitely invest in a support band. Mine came yesterday and my pelvis feels alot better already by wearing it for a few hours

AdventuresAwait · 30/05/2021 11:44

Thanks for the recommendation @Hopefulmummie. I might get one and see if it helps my back pain x

@crobo87, I just remembered that I have omeprazole prescribed. Is it ok during pregnancy? x
