@Nesski you are a lot more sensitive when pregnant 😆 I had factor 50 on today, sat in the sun for half hour at 4pm and still have a red chest 🤣

@Suite88 just get your husband to pack the bag so he knows where everything is!

@Nesski sounds like you have sensitive skin. My legs came out in a rash the other day because the dog kept splashing salt water on them when we were at the beach! I also can't use certain body lotions anymore because they burn! I hope your sunburn isn't too uncomfortable!

@Suite88 I'm glad someone is a crazy/organised as me. I like to have control over most things and having my partner fumble around trying to dress our baby whilst I'm busy delivering placenta etc always gets my goat! 😆. My patience is always on the low side at that point as well so I'm likely to have a go when he asks stupid questions!

@Jinglebells87 I’ve had to change the deodorant that I’ve used for years because it started irritating my skin, I thought they’d changed the formula but maybe it’s a pregnancy thing!

@Jinglebells87 @PinkPlantCase I used my chemical face cleaner a couple of months back, what a mistake that was, burnt off my face and neck... I'd been using it for 3 years prior so yes, definitely much more sensitive! I'm still having to moisturise like mad even now

Very superficial but anyone else notice their eyebrows thinning out ?? I used to have lovely full eyebrows and now they are all patchy just curious if it's pregnancy or what 🤣

Guys any ideas on how to get rid of GIANT BAGS under ones eyes. I look constantly sleep deprived!

Report
AnxiousAnnie86 · 25/04/2021 16:16

@Sitchervice I've wondered the same! Since being pregnant I have what looks like yep black eyes!!!

Report
Jinglebells87 · 25/04/2021 17:25

@Sitchervice enjoy the giant bags now because they will get worse in a few weeks Grin.
I moisturise my face every day and also use an eye gel that I got for Xmas from Clinique. Maybe try something cold on them in the mornings.
Lots of companies do products specific for under eyes. I used to work for Body Shop and we had a special Drops of Youth eye concentrate roller.
I hope you find something to help and you don't look like a panda!

@Jinglebells87 I had a little accident as well, which has left a small cut under my eye. It looks like I've been beaten 🤣.

I'll try that body shop stuff. My sister looked amazing in her pregnancy and still looks good now. No bags what so ever 😑

Does anyone have experience of Braxton Hicks? If so can you please let me know of how they feel, it's intensity, duration and frequency?

@Nesski

Does anyone have experience of Braxton Hicks? If so can you please let me know of how they feel, it's intensity, duration and frequency?

Yes! My bump gets all tight and hard and can take my breath away a little. Usually if I'm on a long walk or done a bit too much they kick in. They don't get closer together, or turn into a pattern, they can be uncomfortable but not painful in my experience. If you're worried you are in labour or in pain, please call MAU! They ate always happy to help ☺

@Nesski I had a lot of BH with my 1st and have had them for most of my pregancy this time around. For me, it feels like a sudden pressure across my bump (probs due to it all getting tight) and mainly feel the pressure in the lower half. It doesn't feel painful but can be uncomfortable and if I'm walking about I'll find it hard to keep up a normal pace or anything and my movements will need to be slower until it passes. How often it happens really depends, and in my case there is no routine or predictability. I'll have a few noticeable ones a day though and have done for weeks. Worse if I'm out walking and it'll happen stronger and more frequently.

Labour contractions felt completely different - even those early contractions where I wasn't sure if it was the start of labour or just a niggly pain. Early contractions in labour for me felt more similar to period pain and had could be timed (mine were 2 mins apart from the off!)

@Fishingforhappiness @WaitingForNormality yes it's the same as me then, just sudden tightness / pressure so everything gets sucked in and becomes rock hard, very weird to see as my bump is lopsided! Mine has been maybe 3/4 in a row, v uncomfortable and might get this 3/4 a day, it travels downwards and is almost like a period pain (but not as low down now obviously and not as painful). I notice mine when I'm sitting and not doing anything, it's very strange!

Hello ladies, I'm 31+3 and for the last couple of days I've been feeling a lower back period type pain. It's not too intense or anything, it's just constantly there in the background, like I'm about to get my period soon. I'm due to see the midwife tomorrow morning so obviously I'll ask her, but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and has more information.

Report
Nesski · 26/04/2021 15:20

@PurpleishDahlia yes I've had that all yday, it was literally like a period pain and it was all down there!

Report
WaitingForNormality · 26/04/2021 15:26

@PurpleishDahlia I get this sometimes too. I always just assume its everything stretching in there as baby is getting much bigger now and probably putting pressure on my back or something.

I'm really suffering with burning rib pain today :-( I had it a few weeks ago and then had a blissful week where it wasn't too bad but now its back. I feel like I want to keep stretching myself really tall to make space for my ribs - people on my work Zoom calls must see me and think I'm making the most bizzare movements!

I had a blood test for GD today, after having traces of glucose in my urine at my last 3 midwife appointments. My hospital have stopped doing the sugar tolerance test though! So just one blood test that they did as part of the normal appointment and I’ll know.

Hello everyone - just wondering if anyone else has needed to take blood thinning injections during pregnancy and if your midwife has spoken about potential impact on birth preferences? I was intending to give birth in a birth centre but I had a blood clot discovered today so now need twice daily injections. Emailed me midwife to ask about impact but wondering if anyone had any experience?? Thanks

AnxiousAnnie86 · 26/04/2021 20:11

@Firsttimeconcerns hey, I've been on tinzaparin for blood clots my whole pregnancy, as I had a blood clot in my first pregnancy. I inject once daily, I am also booked in for a planned c section, they've just said to me to stop taking it 24 hours before, as that's all it takes to come out of system x

Good evening everyone!
I hope you’re all feeling well and getting excited for the last weeks of pregnancy!
I’m 33+5 and about 5 people that I’ve seen (neighbours, family and random shop assistants) have said how low my bump is and I feel like it’s definitely dropped over the last few days. Does this mean anything? Baby number two and I didn’t drop until labour with my first and I’m terrified I’ll be having this one early! I’ve got a midwife appointment tomorrow so will ask her but in the meantime google says it means nothing but it also says it is noticeable in the lead up to labour.
Has anyone else’s bumps dropped yet?

@Humpty11 I thought my bump was a little lower. Had my 34 week appointment today and for the first time babies head is starting to engage! Only by 1/5 but I still got quite excited when I ready my notes.

Your midwife will feel for babies head tomorrow and will note down if it’s started to engage in the pelvis.

I don’t think it means anything will happen particularly early but it’s nice to know things are heading in the right direction

@PinkPlantCase ah thank you, I’ve completely forgotten what the 34 week appointment involves even though I’ve been there before! Definitely good to hear everything’s going in the right direction. I’m starting to get scared about everything now, I think it’s because I’m not naive to it this time!
