@Nesski Yes, definatley ask for a face to face app, You can always ring the birth centre or ask your midwife to ring with their criteria, I have no idea what that is but when I went today she said ‘okay you meet all the criteria’ 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️😂😂😂😂😂

I am just really anti hospital, they maks my BP go up, HR increase and if I had to be amongst labouring women making terrifying noises, I’d end up running away 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I can't make up my mind, I have 4 choices - home, MLU at tiny local hospital 15 mins away, larger hospital labour ward also 15 mins away (in opposite directions so about 30 mins between them) or larger hospital fancy labour ward about 45-60mins away.

Have pretty much discounted home birth as I think I'd be too anxious here and worried about intrusions - our in laws live 2 houses from us and aren't great at the concept of boundaries!

The furthest away hospital is the most technically advanced and fancy but has a bit of a bad rep for stuff going wrong, plus its quite far to go when in labour.

So it's between the mlu and the other hospital but I can't decide. Midwife is pushing MLU as a straightforward birth is more likely there but I don't know whether I'd be anxious about if things went wrong and having to spend 30 mins transferring to the other hospital.

Going to discuss it again with her next week at 34 weeks and try and make some kind of decision.

Although saying all that, baby is still breech so if he won't turn it'll be a hospital anyway! 🤦‍♀️

I’ve been planning a home birth since the booking appointment and have had all of my midwife visits at home too Smile

Hoping baby stays head down!

I really quite fancy a water birth, but I don't think with my history of an emergency forceps with my first and needing a drip with my second as his waters went but contractions didn't start,I don't think they'll let me. I'm consultant lead at the moment but I'm keeping my fingers firmly crossed.

In other news, we've been looking for a new house, the one we currently rent is far too small, been on the lookout for over a year now but decent sized 3 beds are few and far between in my village- but ones recently become available and we have first dibs. Obviously this is a cracking plan with only 6/7 weeks to go! 😂😂😂

Ah @Waitingforbabypage I hope you get it!! You'll have a baby by the time it completes so everyone else will have to do the hard moving for you haha

@Waitingforbabypage if you've managed so far in your place you'll be ok for some time after this one arrives, so don't stress about getting it done within a timeframe in the not-too-distant future. Fingers crossed on the waterbirth, as if they can accommodate using the pool until you're ready to push, my obstetrician said that may be an option for me!

Just had a oh god no moment!

So I'm sat at home in a meeting no cameras or anything and my boobs started leaking!

Way to pick your moment boobs!

Waitingforbabypage · 23/04/2021 11:18

@BlondePotter I really hope we get it, so much more room than we have here.

@Nesski it's quite tight at the moment, there's only just room for a small crib in our room and we've had to get rid of an arm chair to make room for baby stuff downstairs so we'll be ok for a few weeks at least but we really do need the space.
Will absolutely ask about labouring in water, it's the only thing that helps with my various pains at the moment so I just think it will be rather nice.

@Sitchervice Oh my goodness! Way to go boobs!!
Mine leak mainly on a night, I must be squishing them- I got a few pairs of reusable pads, I just chuck them in with any old wash. Quite handy really.

@Waitingforbabypage I vote for moving house before baby is born as I did it 2 weeks after 1st baby and let’s just say, it was the wrong way round 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Waitingforbabypage · 23/04/2021 11:33

@AlRRRR I moved 3 weeks before my second turned up- it was crazy but good. It was nice being settled before he came.
I'm sure we'll be ok regardless of when it happens, it just needs to happen!

(Even daft things keep nipping in my brain like we can't use a baby gate on our stairs currently as its stainless steel and glass balustrade, mental I know, we don't need those for a fair while yet!)

@Waitingforbabypage

Mines mainly at night too but today they were like YES NOWS THE TIME!!!

I was like "Err... Yeah so..." Whilst trying to pull my top away from me 🤣

@MelissaAnn92 I did put the link on the old thread to this one ☺️ but glad you found us!

34 weeks tomorrow and thinking I should start buying some bits for hospital bag now? And maybe something for baby to sleep on, in case it comes early 🙈 I hate getting organised, I'm more of a last minute person

I had my growth scan Wednesday at 32+6
All fine but baby was in the Breech position.
She was head down at my 30+6 one

My fluids normal around the baby so I'm hoping she turns but at 33+2 today and I still feel like her head is high up :/
Starting to feel very worried about the birth/possiblity of a c section

My first was born at 35+3 vaginally and was head down. I had a induction for pre eclampsia last time

@jupitermars1345 fingers crossed for a turn!
I have to have a section this time around too due to a horrendous year with my first little boy.
I've came around to the idea of it now, and for some like myself a section is 100% more controlled than what was allowed to happen to me first time round!

Xxxx

@BlondePotter we’re going on holiday (in the U.K.) soon when I’ll be 35 weeks. I’m going to take a ‘lite’ version of a hospital bag just Incase!!

We’ve just put a few baby clothes, nappies, maternity pads and some blankets in a small bag. Then I’ll just make sure I pack my dressing gown and a few extra pairs of pants with my normal going away stuff.

We might leave the car seat in the boot of the car aswell. Otherwise DH would have a 7 hour round trip to pick it up 😂

TerryRose · 24/04/2021 14:18

@jupitermars1345 have you tried sitting on a pregnancy/yoga ball? Apparently can help get baby in right position, my midwife recommends 3 hours split over a day from 36 weeks on I think she said and still time for baby to turn naturally

@SantoPalo so exciting, I'm due 14th with my first also, how are you feeling ???

Report
Nesski · 24/04/2021 15:02

@BlondePotter I went through the clothes I bought for the sprog and realised how much I've actually picked up, told my husband to stop me from now on Grin, I'll probably pack once I've washed it all when I go off on leave at 36 weeks (less than 4 weeks of work left, yippee!). Still no pram, no car seat, no next to me, we went into M&Ps and JL and were completely overwhelmed with the amount of choice... Why do they do this!!! All the brand's offer broadly the same thing at the same price, so having to test them all out is so exhausting!!

Report
Jinglebells87 · 24/04/2021 16:34

It stresses me out to not be organised. I've had my hospital bag packed since about 26 weeks Grin and I bought my pram/carseat etc back in November 🙈.
My friend had her first child a few weeks early and she spent her first night at home asleep in a baby bath!
You should see my bag of stuff to take for the baby. I have complete outfits in labelled IKEA sandwich bags. Including one that says "just born" on it to my OH knows what to put him in. It's got a nappy, vest, sleepsuit and hat in it. I am either really prepared or just crazy Hmm!

@Jinglebells87 just really prepared, I'm just trying to get through work right now and praying he doesn't come before 37 weeks!

On another note, I got seriously burnt today sitting in the sun for an hour and half (9.30-11am), seriously I am someone who does not burn, ever, so caught me off guard!

Report
Suite88 · 24/04/2021 20:59

@Jinglebells87 I've used sandwich bags and labels for baby clothes in my hospital bag too.

My husband is terrible at finding anything so I'm hoping it help him to fish the right things out of the bag when they are needed Grin

Report
Sitchervice · 24/04/2021 21:02

A friend of mine who recently had a baby said to me, just take ALL the clothes. She had this haunted look on her face... So I might just take everything to the hospital. Plus he's long so we have no idea what he'll fit
