@Sitchervice don't worry I don't think I'll be trying to keep track much longer 🤣 certainly wasn't this many on the previous thread!
Still missing @AIRRRR too 👋

That's 8 ladies due on the 8th haha, wonder if any of them actually will be

Can't believe some nurseries are full for June next year!! I can't imagine viewing nurseries before the baby is here but I'm probably too superstitious for things like that. My husband can take 9 months off paid paternity so he's splitting it, 4.5 months off at the start, and then 4.5 off when I go back June 2022 so will.go to nursery around Oct next year

@BlondePotter your husband has an amazing paternity package!!! I thought mine was lucky to have 18 weeks!!

Report
BlondePotter · 19/04/2021 23:11

@Nesski I know, haven't heard of anything longer than 6 weeks before.
I can take a year but only 20 weeks is full pay, then 19 weeks SMP so he has a much better deal than me 😆 we've saved to cover my 3 months unpaid though

Lots of baby’s for early June 🥰💙

Can I ask if anyone has been struggling with any right sided pain, around the rib area front and back?

Report
BlondePotter · 20/04/2021 09:04

@Fightingtobepositive I get it occasionally but seems to depend on baby position.
If it's bad, and regular then do keep an eye on pre-eclampsia symptoms. My cousin had a lot of pain in right side of ribs and kept mentioning to midwife, turns out it was her liver (that's where it's sat when it's squished up by baby) and she had HELLP syndrome and an emergency C-section under GA at 34 weeks.
That's a very rare version of pre-eclampsia but just one to be aware of signs x

@Fightingtobepositive I get quite a bad like stitch feeling there, it's quite uncomfortable and lasts all day sometimes, it tends to of been if I've overdone it or been on a walk up too many hills etc, but it lasts all day, x

@BlondePotter. I didn’t know that. I have been having rib pain on the right since about week 22 and assume it’s the baby as it’s not constant and moves if baby is active. I’ll keep an eye on it.

Report
MimiDaisy11 · 20/04/2021 09:37

@Fightingtobepositive Yes I get right-sided rib pain but it's just mainly on the front and it just seems to come randomly. I assume due to the positioning of the baby.

Fightingtobepositive · 20/04/2021 10:05

@BlondePotter yes I’ve had some bloods taken that’s what’s been on my mind 😖 I hope it’s just normal but a little worried. Did you cousin have any other symptoms?

@AnxiousAnnie86 yes it does get worse after exercise for me to.

Thanks ladies. I’m hoping it’s nothing but feeling a little anxious. I’m such a worrier x

BlondePotter · 20/04/2021 10:14

@Fightingtobepositive she had headaches and high blood pressure but never any protein in her urine so they didn't have down for pre-eclampsia

@Fightingtobepositive @BlondePotter I got tested for ore eclampsia too as having really bad headaches, but BP was fine and no protein. They said the pain is normal, x

Report
Fightingtobepositive · 20/04/2021 10:26

@AnxiousAnnie86l how did you get tested. Was it through bloods? I’m not having headaches or have high BP just the pain really. I’m such a worrier I’ve started myself off now 😖

Fightingtobepositive · 20/04/2021 10:29

Thanks @BlondePotter I don’t have high blood pressure but do have lucozytes in my urine. It’s just the pain at the minute. But I’m so paranoid over it as it doesn’t seem to be as others say when it’s baby poking. It’s got a little worse offer a week but eases after a bath and is fine through night and when I first get up, it gets worse as day goes on x

Report
AnxiousAnnie86 · 20/04/2021 10:45

@Fightingtobepositive honestly I'm so so paranoid about everything!! Hence the name! I just booked an app with the doctor and they did loads of different tests, honestly though, that pain I get every time I walk up a hill or do a full day cleaning my house etc. Apparently it's an oxygen thing! If your blood pressure is fine and no headaches I'm sure it's not pre eclampsia but just get in touch with midwife she might see you and put your mind at ease xx

Fightingtobepositive · 20/04/2021 10:53

@AnxiousAnnie86 I’m with you on the anxious front. I’m such an over thinker. Yes I’ll ring later. I inly had bloods yesterday but maybe they’ll be back 🤔

I get paranoid because my urine always shows some sort of lucozytes (I know I’m spelling it wrong) but wehem it’s sent off they always say no need to worry. But then why does it show it in the first place xx

AnxiousAnnie86 · 20/04/2021 11:00

@Fightingtobepositive it's never ending isn't it! I've got to do daily injections to prevent blood clots, have an anterior placenta preveria, rhesus negative blood, the worries are never ending 😂

WaitingForNormality · 20/04/2021 11:27

@Fightingtobepositive I also get right side, middle rib pain. It's like a stitch and also can sometimes feel like a burning pain. It was particularly bad around 30weeks but has eased up a little bit in the last week. I also had it during my first pregnancy, much worse than this, and all was fine - just to put your mind at rest a bit! Mine is often triggered by how I've been sat during the day (desk job so I'm sat for a long time each day) and hugely impacted by how baby is lying. If baby is higher up it can be painful and I find it hard to find any position to sit or lie comfortably.

My recent 28wk bloods (done at 29+4) were fine, no high BP and nothing in urine so my midwife said that, like last time, it's just one of those annoying pregnancy ailments. I'm quite short too so baby is quite high up as there's just not enough room in my short body for him to stretch!

First time mums, can I ask what your appointment schedule is in your area? The NHS website says we have an appointment at 31, 34 and 36 weeks. I’m 33 weeks on Thursday, just had my ‘31 week’ appointment today and my MW said she’ll see me again at 36 weeks. Not sure what’s happened to the 34 week one!

I am having an dilemma. Work is causing me a lot of stress, I feel attacked by a colleague and even though I know he's not attacking me I feel like he is.

I feel ready to leave work for Maternity but I can't afford it. The perinatal team suggested I could go off sick but again I don't think I can afford it. I just don't know what to do I feel like crying. Sorry I know this isn't a forum to do this but I've got no idea what to do.

@swiftt I've been told it's every three weeks from 3rd trimester? X

Report
northerngal20 · 20/04/2021 13:12

@swiftt mine are at 31, 34, 37 and 40 weeks (all +5 days) - they were all booked in at my last (28 week) appointment. Maybe yours got a bit out of sync at some point? i'm not sure what they're all for other than to check urine/blood/blood pressure/anti-D and then at the 34 or 37 week one to talk through the birth plan, so i'm sure as long as you're being seen regularly and it sounds like you are it shouldn't be a problem, but you can always ask the midwife if you think something's been missed!

Report
Lovethatjourneyforme · 20/04/2021 13:31

@sitchervice why do you feel like he's attacking you? If you can't afford to take maternity early or sick, I would say you need to find a way to make work. Can you speak to your manager about your work load/the colleague/anything else that may alleviate the stress somewhat?
