@Surfermummytobe I’ve heard that castor oil is a really bad idea, it basically just gives you the shits which can cause contractions but not necessarily get labour going properly.

If it does get labour going then the diarrhoea and potentially vomiting/dehydration doesn’t set you up well for a nice water birth.
It doesn't sound pleasant at all, I've been having pretty bad constipation recently and already on stool softeners from the chemist so I don't want to add to it 🤣🤣 the poor bath would need chucked in the bin!

MelissaAnn92 · 28/05/2021 21:27

Does anyone still have a relatively small bump? Midwife never appears concerned but im sick of peoples comments when I say how far on I am , I'm due 24th June and to be fair compared to my first boy I'm definitely more compact ! Xx

MelissaAnn92 · 28/05/2021 21:28

@Sitchervice

Oh god. Somethings really upset me regarding work and I feel its so stupid. I got removed from a work WhatsApp group, so now I don't get any important updates and I can't shair the news of my sons birth. (if he ever comes out)

Another person who went on maternity before me was never removed, shared her babies birth and everyone congratulated her. I just feel so segregated even though they were so nasty to me leading up to my maternity leave 😭

Aw no that's not nice of them. Why were they nasty on the lead up? Maybe once your back fresh beginnings could be on the horizon and look for a nice new team? Xx

@Surfermummytobe Oh, can you book sweeps in there? I didn’t know haha. I can’t remember if I had it in my 1st pregnancy, I did birth on my due date though!

AlRRRR · 28/05/2021 21:31

@MelissaAnn92 I’m due 24th June, and this is my bump, I also get those comments 🙄🙄 I was same with 1st too, practically identical bumps

AlRRRR · 28/05/2021 21:32

@MelissaAnn92 She’s measuring on the 35th percentile *

Mackie2020 · 28/05/2021 21:44

@AlRRRR my bump looks similar at 39+3. Baby measuring on the 37th centile and estimated 7.2lbs. My midwife says I just have a very compact bump. It feels fit to burst though!

Mackie2020 · 28/05/2021 21:45

Sorry, also to @MelissaAnn92

Sitchervice · 28/05/2021 21:45

@MelissaAnn92 my thoughts is that because we are so understaffed they are resentful. I did say to them I'd go on mat leave for only 3 months but they encouraged me to take longer. Besides its not my fault that we are understaffed. Though I feel like it is.

My midwive has booked me in, I'm not sure if you can ask for it but she did it for me! Wow that's great timing:) this is my first baby, if he's anything like he's mum he will deffo be a late one 🤣

swiftt · 28/05/2021 22:59

@MelissaAnn92 yup, I’ve had the ‘oh you’re so small’ comments for my whole pregnancy. I’ve always been measuring bang on for my fundal measurements though, and a very average size baby according to scans. Keep getting told how ‘neat’ I am. Don’t bloody feel it!

Nesski · 28/05/2021 23:08

@swiftt @MelissaAnn92 I got the opposite 'you're so big compared to x' comment from a male colleague (we have someone else at work that is due the day after me). All the girls turned round at him and gave him the death stare, one said 'if you said that to me, I would have decked you'. He tried to save it and said the bump was big, then I just said 'i mean, she's (other colleague) 5 inches taller than me so I suppose there is more room...' Grin

BlondePotter · 29/05/2021 03:45

Introducing Luna! Born at 38+4 weighing 7lb7 after induction as it was confirmed my waters had gone. I had an epidural as they said I would need to have the drip and although I wanted to avoid all this, it ended up being a great decision and I ended up not needing the drip or any intervention. Would definitely have an epidural again!
Good luck to all those imminently close too xx
