@TerryRose I once used it when I went in for exploratory surgery.

PinkPlantCase · 27/05/2021 16:27

@TerryRose I know that my mum took a stool softener after a c-section. I think just to avoid the need to strain to go. Guess it could be useful too if you need stitches down below.

Personally I’ve been eating a ton of fruit everyday anyway in an attempt to keep my bowels moving at all 😂 I’d rather do that than take medication.

teaformummy · 27/05/2021 16:41

@TerryRose the midwives gave me something after my c section to help 😣

BlondePotter · 27/05/2021 17:28

I had specks of red in my discharge this morning and have had a few occasions of leaking pink fluid so am waiting at day assessment for them to check if it's my waters or not. I'm not ready 🤣🤣

Also bought some massive Primark pants 🙌

** This didn't post earlier so the update is it was my waters and I'm booked for induction at 9am unless something happens overnight 🤞🤞 was still supposed to work my last day tomorrow 🙈 bit looks like it'll be a May baby now!

@BlondePotter oooh what a surprise! Lots of luck with the induction! 💕

AlRRRR · 27/05/2021 17:52

@BlondePotter Good luck! How many weeks are you? x

Humpty11 · 27/05/2021 18:35

@BlondePotter Oo how exciting!!!
I hope things happen by themselves 🤞🏼🤞🏼. Good luck, you’ll be snuggling that baby before you know it 😍.
@TerryRose I was given lactulose after I had my first (I think because they gave me a diclofenac suppository) and my god did it work. Without being too graphic I had to be very cautious about passing wind in case it was anything more 🤦🏼‍♀️.

Tatty1987 · 27/05/2021 20:57

@BlondePotter good luck, how exciting!

Jinglebells87 · 27/05/2021 21:09

Best of luck @BlondePotter!! The babies are starting to come more often now! Exciting times Smile

Sweetmad · 27/05/2021 21:11

@BlondePotter good luck! Hope all goes well x

Fishingforhappiness · 27/05/2021 21:31

Good luck @BlondePotter I'm having my sweep tomorrow and induction Saturday. But tonight little lady is going crazy. I'm hoping she is just deciding that she's going to come on her own.
Has anyone had a sweep? What's it like?

Suite88 · 27/05/2021 21:52

@BlondePotter Best of luck! I hope you are getting on ok.

@Fishingforhappiness I'm booked in for a sweep on Wednesday, I'd be interested to hear how you go on tomorrow if you don't mind.

AnxiousAnnie86 · 28/05/2021 03:27

@BlondePotter ooo! Congratulations!! Xxxx

Jinglebells87 · 28/05/2021 03:39

@Fishingforhappiness I had a sweep last time I was pregnant and would have one again this time. It was absolutely fine for me. I think it does vary from person to person but didn't bother me at all, and I went into labour less than 24 hours later! Good luck Smile

BlondePotter · 28/05/2021 05:21

@airrr I'm 38+4. Had contractions throughout the night but they slowed down from every 5/6 mins to every 8-10mins from 11pm so I got a couple hours sleep and then have been resting.
Guess I'll go back in for my 9am induction as they wanted to give me antibiotics
Thanks for all the luck ladies, catch up soon

@BlondePotter oooo exciting!!!! :) xxx

Fishingforhappiness · 28/05/2021 06:08

Good luck @BlondePotter ... one step closer to newborn cuddles! Have a good breakfast and take all the snacks is my best advise from our recent admissions Grin

Humpty11 · 28/05/2021 06:49

Good luck @BlondePotter. I hope baby doesn’t keep you waiting too long 😍

AnxiousAnnie86 · 28/05/2021 07:02

@BlondePotter I said congratulations I meant good luck! Silly me! That's what I get for messaging in the middle of the night when I can't sleep xxxxx

swiftt · 28/05/2021 07:46

I had some sort of ‘leak’ last night, it was enough to soak through my liner and pants but it seems to have been a one off... not sure whether to phone triage today just in case it was my waters, but if it was then it would still be leaking wouldn’t it? It didn’t smell like wee but maybe it was! Blush

Lovethatjourneyforme · 28/05/2021 07:52

@swiftt I'd give them a call. It might have stopped because of baby's position or it might have been hind waters? Best to get them to confirm either way I think.

Waitingforbabypage · 28/05/2021 08:01

Had my last midwife appt before due date and she refused a sweep saying they don't work. She's a grumpy cow anyway- I really don't like her.
So that's me just waiting it out until the 7th. Growth scan on the 7th, next midwife appt is at 40+3 weeks.....I don't want to get to that point. 😂

swiftt · 28/05/2021 08:26

@Lovethatjourneyforme okay, I’ll call this morning and see what they say. I’ll just be a bit embarrassed I think if it turns out I’ve weed myself a bit! I’m only 38+1.

PinkPlantCase · 28/05/2021 09:32

@BlondePotter how exciting!! Good luck!! Grin

AlRRRR · 28/05/2021 09:45

@swiftt don’t worry about it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 They’ll see all sorts and better to know if waters are going / have gone so they can take precautions x
