I slipped over today 😭 feeling very sorry for myself.

Our shower is over the bath and I had one foot in the bath and it slipped. I still had a foot on the ground outside the bath and just bashed my thigh against the bath and hurt my wrist a bit catching myself. Lucky I’m tall!

Baby is still very wiggly and bump didn’t get hit at all so I’m sure baby is fine. I’m just a bit shaken up. Resisting the urge to hide under the duvet for the rest of the day.

Nesski · 26/05/2021 13:27

Oh no @PinkPlantCase! Another sign of baby coming very soon, the clumsiness that is! Just hide under that duvet (if you've nothing pressing to do), and take it easy!

northerngal20 · 26/05/2021 16:02

@AlRRRR yep it's my first! eek that sounds exciting, and like things might start moving soon! i've been in and out of triage all week with spotting/all the testing they're doing on me, feeling really exhausted tbh! can't wait until baby is here and i can hopefully relax and not go into hospital for a bit!

@Penny2020 ahhh congratulations! lovely news!!

@PinkPlantCase oh no - hope you're ok!! definitely take it easy and if you do need to rest up then do so!

AlRRRR · 26/05/2021 16:12

@northerngal20 shouldn’t too long for you! Maybe next week or so for you? ❤️❤️❤️❤️

TerryRose · 26/05/2021 16:15

@PinkPlantCase oh no it's so scary when you fall isn't it. I fell flat on my face around 26 weeks I think , all was fine but felt so guilty and still get shivers thinking about it but it's so easily happens and main thing is you are fine and so is your baba ❤️

northerngal20 · 26/05/2021 16:16

@AlRRRR yep, i've been told i'll be induced if it doesn't happen spontaneously before 38 weeks - crazy!! getting really excited now!

AlRRRR · 26/05/2021 16:16

HV came to mine today in person, to talk about the usual topics, safe sleeping, feeding, problems etc, really lovely woman! She talked about how keeping baby close all the time does not spoil babies and actually helps keep crying to a minimum, talked about infant and mother maternal health and just been as natural as possible.

Lovely to see NHS has changed guidance as none of that was said when my 1st was born in 2017 when all I got was ‘put baby down, schedule feeding, you’ll spoil her blablabla’ so nice hear it from a HV that, that isn’t necessarily the only method of parenting ❤️❤️.

She also said any advice given is just, advice and parents will find their own pattern and there is no right or wrong, so really positive visit

Jinglebells87 · 26/05/2021 16:35

Just lost a little bit of my mucus plug (sorry if tmi!) and got waaay too excited! Grin.
It's just nice to see my body is doing something to evict this baby!
Anyone else getting any signs??

swiftt · 26/05/2021 16:45

@Jinglebells87 oh I’m so jealous hahaha! I’ve been inspecting the tissue every time I go the loo. Nothing for me yet! 😂

Jinglebells87 · 26/05/2021 16:57

@swiftt - glad I'm not the only one! It's crazy really because it doesn't mean a lot. It was just exciting to have an early labour symptom to spot! Grin

BlondePotter · 26/05/2021 16:58

@Jinglebells87 I haven't had anything else since I lost mine sat-mon! Although off to review an air BnB tonight so would rather my waters didn't break over their bed 🤣

@Suite88 not yet, next appt is my 38 week one which takes place 3 days before my due date 🙄 I will be declining any sweeps though

sundowners · 26/05/2021 16:59

Nothing for me- 38 weeks +2 here, being induced on Friday so hoping it doesn't actually get started before then as I want tomorrow as my final day at home/to get organised!! I refused a sweep this week for that reason.

Jinglebells87 · 26/05/2021 17:14

@BlondePotter oh yes that wouldn't be ideal your waters going tonight then! I'm worried about mine going on the school run and having to walk home! Lol.

@sundowners - wow induction on Friday!!? Oh my goodness that is soon! I'm already jealous of the newborn cuddles coming your way! Realistically I could still have another 3 weeks to wait which I know isn't that long but it really feels it!
Best of luck with the induction and enjoy getting organised tomorrow! Smile

sundowners · 26/05/2021 17:20

Thanks Jinglebells87!! Although yours could be sooner than you think- when I lost my mucus plug with DS, contractions started the same day!

Jinglebells87 · 26/05/2021 17:47

@sundowners - my last two kids were late so expecting this one to be the same. Wouldn't mind if he arrived next week as it's half term and less to organise in terms of kids uniforms/lunches/music lessons etc!!

Sitchervice · 26/05/2021 18:44

@AlRRRR I'm jealous! I want your HV, mine just moaned at me 😩 I feel like I failed before I even started.

AlRRRR · 26/05/2021 18:55

@Sitchervice Aw really??? not fair on you, is it ...

Sitchervice · 26/05/2021 18:58

@AlRRRR when I spoke to my mother she said I could change HVs if I wanted to. I'm not sure if this is true.

My aunty who was a HV said sometimes you can get some who can be a bit overzealous and not quite down to earth.

AlRRRR · 26/05/2021 19:01

@Sitchervice Yes, I bet you can! I was actually super impressed at the natural parenting angle and the fact that she acknowledged babies simply don’t get ‘spoilt’ by holding them, I’ve always followed a natural parenting technique and it’s worked so well for me, but last time, I felt like I was doing it ‘wrong’ hearing the words ‘feed baby whenever and for as long as baby needs’ was so refreshing as oppose to feed the baby at 7/11/3/7, that drove me f++king insane last time!!

teaformummy · 27/05/2021 07:08

Just wanted to come on to moan about feeling so crampy and painful the past few days. Went for a big walk yesterday, no signs of anything happening just yet though but still early.

All you ladies seem to be organised and have exciting things happening 😊

Humpty11 · 27/05/2021 07:32

@teaformummy hopefully the cramps are the start of something for you! 🤞🏼

I just feel generally grim but zero cramping or anything that might indicate she’s on her way, I’m only 38 weeks though so already need to stop being so impatient 🤣.

Sitchervice · 27/05/2021 09:15

I got some real sexy maternity pants yesterday, kind that go up and over the belly. Some reason my husband didn't find them as sexy 🤔😂

AnxiousAnnie86 · 27/05/2021 09:23

@Sitchervice hahaha same!!! Massive ones from Primark! I don't know if they are going to be any good they feel baggy

TerryRose · 27/05/2021 15:51

Just saw someone's labour bag list and they included a stool softener (didn't know such a thing existed ) do you think this is necessary?
Has anyone used it before or plan on bringing it to the hospital ? Thanks 😊

AlRRRR · 27/05/2021 16:15

@TerryRose oooo not heard of that, I didn’t need it last time though, but it is a tense moment I remember waiting for it haha
