@BlondePotter nope !! I'm hoping I'll go over 🙈🤣 I'm ok pain wise at the moment so that helps , I just have so much to do still in our house and it's not me being fussy , it's still a building site , we are renovating an old farm cottage and also just need to prepare mentally also 🤣

Nesski · 25/05/2021 14:50

@BlondePotter definitely cannot relate to the baby being late 😂 I am so bloody fed up, I caught myself in the mirror today and my belly is freakin HUGE!!! and the sleep thing, don't get my started, the insomnia has been real since week 32... Luckily I haven't had any major water retention issues and therefore swelling, otherwise I would be the most miserable person ever.

Sitchervice · 25/05/2021 16:04

Had a cervical messuring scan (Private) and it looks like he wouldn't have been late if the obstertrition wasn't going to induce me. Not much lowering or softening at all!!

Humpty11 · 25/05/2021 17:45

@BlondePotter I 100% feel the opposite to you 😂. I’m 38 weeks tomorrow and feel like my skin on my stomach is about to rip in two and I’m so congested I need some relief! She’ll probably be 2 weeks late 😂😫. I have still got an assignment to finish that’s due end of June though so maybe I don’t want her here just yet!!

AnxiousAnnie86 · 25/05/2021 17:53

@BlondePotter I've had enough! I feel awful 😂😂

Has anyone else got awful rib pain?? I can't sleep due to it, it's so so painful x

TerryRose · 25/05/2021 18:31

@AnxiousAnnie86 yeah I had it really for a few weeks but it seems to have eased off , I found sleeping on the opposite side to the pain helped and raising my hand over my head , I read rib pain can also be connected to heartburn so
I started drinking a little bit of gaviscon when my ribs were sore even if it didn't feel like the usual heartburn / reflux thing and it helped . Hope it eases off for you as it's so so hard to sleep with it .

Jinglebells87 · 25/05/2021 19:03

I'm 39 weeks tomorrow and I switch day to day on whether I want to be in labour or not Grin. I am really uncomfortable, I'm sick of the crap sleep and all the strangers asking how long left. But on the other hand I feel like I'm too tired to give birth now and I want it to happen at a time when it is easy to sort out my other children etc (which is never!).
I had a small burst of energy earlier and did some nesting, then got sad because my belly is too big to move around and do a good job!
I went to hospital yesterday for reduced movement and the midwife mentioned how high baby was still so guessing it's not happening any time soon!

Waitingforbabypage · 26/05/2021 03:46

I have heartburn/reflux for the first time ever- bloody hell how some of you put up with this for the duration I do not know. Hats off to you cos the few hours I've had it have been miserable!

Hope you're all doing ok....we're on the home straight now!

Sitchervice · 26/05/2021 09:43

I had the health visitor come visit and found it a little strange. She didn't like anything I did to protect my baby from my cats.

AlRRRR · 26/05/2021 10:00

@Waitingforbabypage well..... I had escaped this too until last week, 36 weeks, and all of a sudden I got sickness, feeling sick, being sick at 1 / 2 am, and awful feeling of doom etc, Somebody suggested taking Rennie's, which I hadn't heard of before, so I took 6 first day, 1 hour after every meal and before bed and now, 4 days on, I just take 2 or 4 depending and it's all but vanished!

I have also stopped drinking any liquids with meals, so 15 mins before or 1 hour after and that has helped loads! I don't eat the following but, No sugar or fizzy things either because they apparently make it worse!

Hope you can sort it out !

AlRRRR · 26/05/2021 10:02

@Sitchervice I feel like they just read from a script and follow whatever guidelines they've been told - like advice service.

There was a threat to their service few years ago, and government were about to cut them but I found them invaluable after birth but I know some people find HV really intrusive! Maybe she isn't a car person and was freaked out by the though of newborn and cat living side by side hahahahah

Mackie2020 · 26/05/2021 10:05

@Sitchervice what didn't she like?

Suite88 · 26/05/2021 10:32

Our cat was a real pest when the health visitor came to see us and spent the whole time sitting right next to her. The health visitor was the first indoor visitor we'd had for a long time!

@Sitchervice the only cat based question we were asked was whether we could be keeping the cat out of our bedroom.

Sitchervice · 26/05/2021 10:43

Well, I said I wouldn't leave the baby alone with the cat. Just the same as you would with a dog. We have a cot that has a protective cover and highly rated with cat owners as well to stop them climbing in, just in case I turn my back for like a second. She was like no no no. No cats in same room as baby. I live in flat so I can't lock my cat in one room! She did give the impression she didn't like cats. Was a but nose uppy at them

AnxiousAnnie86 · 26/05/2021 10:48

@Sitchervice ThAts ridiculous! Sometimes I feel health visitors are there to make you feel bad! We have a cat and a dog! They are going to hate me!! I'm not locking my animals in other rooms! X

Sitchervice · 26/05/2021 11:00

@AnxiousAnnie86 maybe I got a snooty one. My aunty was a HV and she seemed to think they were being silly and a bit OTT

Tatty1987 · 26/05/2021 11:02

Did anyone else have a low lying placenta at the 20 week scan? I have my follow up transvaginal 🙈 scan today to check the placenta location. Just wondered if any of you ladies have had the same and whether you got your results at the scan or after as they’ve already booked me in for a follow up telephone appt with a consultant on Friday? Smile

AnxiousAnnie86 · 26/05/2021 11:06

@Sitchervice mine has only been on ohone so far, and grilled me about the dog! X

AnxiousAnnie86 · 26/05/2021 11:06

@Tatty1987 I had low lying at 20 weeks they rescanned me at 26 weeks and it was 6cm clear xxx

Tatty1987 · 26/05/2021 11:18

@AnxiousAnnie86 ahh great, thank you! fingers crossed mine will be too, I’m 35+2

AnxiousAnnie86 · 26/05/2021 11:22

@Tatty1987 the consultant app will be a precaution in case it hasn't moved they will want to get you booked in for A section, but I'm betting it's totally clear!! Oh they gave me results at scan, but still passed onto consultant to check. But they will tell you if it's clear of OS

Nesski · 26/05/2021 11:26

I had my growth scan today and the baby is on his side, head down. Fingers crossed he will turn 🙄

Suite88 · 26/05/2021 12:39

@Sitchervice that sounds a bit harsh. We live in apartment too but were only asked the one question and then the Health Visitor moved on.

Has anyone been booked in for a sweep? I've just seen my midwife and baby is now fully engaged. She has booked me in for a sweep at the end of my next appointment which will be on my due date.

Sweetmad · 26/05/2021 12:45

Had my last growth scan today and bub is following a textbook growth pattern so fingers crossed all stays well! Midwife checked to see how engaged he was and could no longer feel his head only tops of his shoulders if she pushed down far enough so hopefully not too much longer now. 36 weeks +3 time is flying! Hope all of you are well! Anyone else feeling extremely uncomfortable? Even the ball isn’t helping anymore 😫

Normando91 · 26/05/2021 12:56

Was up at PAU last night as little one hadn’t moved all day. Did everything suggested online to get him moving, even went a drive as he seems to go crazy in the car. Nothing. Got to the unit, hooked up to monitor and given Lucozade. He went mental, massive movements and constant. I’d been drinking fizzy juice all day 🙈 I felt ridiculous but the midwife couldn’t have been more amazing.

In regards to HV and cats, mine seemed very pissy about them. I have two and they are really well behaved cats. We’re lucky to have a big house and they’ll be kept strictly out of bedrooms. But she just kept banging on that you can’t always know where the cats are and I must purchase a net for pram, cot, Moses basket. I also got a lecture for mentioning that I used to be put on the “naughty step” as a child... apparently we aren’t allowed to refer to it as that anymore and it’s a time out but we should try not to use it...
