I'm so embarrassed.... I woke up myself husband at 2AM... told him I was in labour having really regular pains and uncomfortable. He's flapping and getting bits together ASAP. I'm on the bring of calling the hospital... turns out its was a combination of me constipation and the Indian I had for dinner thing its toll Blush. Turns out I have so much squished in and weird pains down there, I don't know what's what anymore! He wasn't impressed. Part of me is a bit sad we don't meet our baby today now though!

Nesski · 02/05/2021 08:11

@Fishingforhappiness lololol just take it as a fire drill situation!

Sitchervice · 02/05/2021 08:57

@Waitingforbabypage haha it was the only thing I could think of that was similar. Blame collage and other teans talking about their nipple peircings going wrong. - Shudder-

I might try the pad first and work my way up. I can and will do this! 💪

BlondePotter · 02/05/2021 09:44

@Fishingforhappiness 🤣🤣🤣 good to have a practice at least!

Thanks @blondepotter and @nesski. I was clearly to tired to type properly this morning. Definitely won't be doing the curry to bring on labour scenario. I'll be constantly up there thinking this is it Blush my husband says he won't believe me if I do go into labour anytime soon now... well at least we are packed now!

Sitchervice · 02/05/2021 13:21

@Fishingforhappiness alot of people do have fulse alarms. Your husband is just going to have to understand that.

Waitingforbabypage · 02/05/2021 15:51

@Sitchervice ohh no, I don't blame you!! Just thinking about it makes mine hurt 😂😂😂
Just don't stress yourself out about it though 👍🏻 x

Has anybody gotten more hungry at night, especially before bed? The last few days I've been starving but resisted eating anything as I don't want to gain any more weight! I honestly don't think I've been eating any more than I had done pre-pregnancy but still have managed to put on 11kg so far Sad

pookypup · 04/05/2021 07:10

@Nesski 11kg sounds fine to me, And within where is expected? I was worried and my midwife said most women gain between 10 and 12kg by 32 weeks. I’ve gained about 13 so far. Try not to worry, especially if you are eating well.

Most of it will be baby, water, bigger boobs and a bit of fat stored ready to feed.

It’s hard to feel that you can’t control your weight though, I get that.

BabyBumpIncoming · 04/05/2021 10:13

@Nesski I feel hungry all the time, although it's more just like a need to snack rather than have a meal. I think the baby had inherited my husbands sweet tooth!!!

I'm debating a tens machine, has anyone used one in labour before? Have you found them beneficial? X

Nesski · 04/05/2021 11:05

@pookypup yes to your last sentence, it's really hard mentally dealing with the numbers on the scale!

@BabyBumpIncoming I second the TENS question, does anyone have experience in them and was it useful??

TerryRose · 04/05/2021 12:52

@BabyBumpIncoming definitely get a TENS machine everyone I know and every midwife I have spoken said to get one ! They can also be used for back pain and stuff after baby so a good investment

MimiDaisy11 · 04/05/2021 13:37

Is there a recommended TENS machine? I seem to remember reading a thread where you could get different types.

Edelweiss2020 · 04/05/2021 14:34

I think it just needs to be a pregnancy specific one as they have a boost button whereas sports ones don't tend to. I've borrowed one off a friend and just bought new pads for it. The one I've got is a Mamatens one. I think Elle Tens is a good brand too. You can hire them online and through pharmacies if you don't want to buy one :)

Emmie12 · 04/05/2021 15:52

Question (sorry if I have missed), is anyone drinking raspberry leaf tea? Have read to start drinking from 32 weeks? Anyone ever done this before?

TerryRose · 04/05/2021 16:28

@Emmie12 I haven't bought it yet but my midwife told me to get it and I know lots of pregnant people who drink it 😊

MimiDaisy11 · 04/05/2021 17:46

@Emmie12 I started to a few days ago. I quite like it. I've just been having one cup a day. I should really look into the recommended amount as I seem to remember reading you should increase the amount as the weeks go on.

Edelweiss2020 · 04/05/2021 17:49

I got raspberry leaf tablets (don't like hot drinks) and have been taking them for a few days, I'm 35 weeks today but baby was breech until last week so held off til he turned just as a precaution!

Emmie12 · 04/05/2021 17:59

@Edelweiss2020 @MimiDaisy11 @TerryRose Ah thank you, something else I will add to the list along with pelvic floor exercises, breathing exercises, general exercise! So much to keep track of

Suite88 · 04/05/2021 19:18

@Emmie12 Raspberry leaf tea was recommended in my NCT class so I've ordered some. I'm going to have my first cup tonight and see how it goes.

I've also ordered some medjool dates as they are recommended from 37 weeks to soften the cervix.

Sitchervice · 04/05/2021 19:41

I'm going to get some raspberry leaf tea. Though my NCT class said it's best not to start drinking it until at least 36 weeks.

AlRRRR · 04/05/2021 19:58

@Suite88 Do mejool dates really do that 🤣🤣🤣 I’ve been eating 2 a day all through as it’s in my normal diet haha oh gosh,

The raspberry leaf tea @Emmie12 I started at 38 weeks 1st preg as it gave me cramps earlier and was sick of feeling contractions, I started properly at 38/39, and she came on due date :)

Nesski · 04/05/2021 20:57

@airrrr yes the dates soften the cervix, I was told by my antenatal class to start eating them at 36/37 weeks!

Waitingforbabypage · 04/05/2021 20:57

Just ordered some raspberry leaf tea and some clary sage oil for my baths.

Is anyone else's OH completely overwhelmed with everything?
Mines just come home in tears because everything is just too much.
Baby coming in the next few weeks, house move even sooner, he's just gone for a promotion at work but is now doubting himself. I've been a bit grouchy because I'm in constant pain with pgp but I've made sure he's not baring the brunt of it.
I don't know what to do. I've never seen him like this 🥺😢

AnxiousAnnie86 · 04/05/2021 21:27

Quick one ladies, just thinking about packing hospital bag, baby coming around 18th June, will she need a hat? It's not something I've bought? X
