Glad the scan went well @la1921 and congratulations on finding out you're having a girl! Xx

AdventuresAwait · 22/04/2021 05:00

@CherylLW, that's how I felt too. I wanted a good carseat and really liked the fact that the Joie i-level also has a more of a laying down position for baby, especially for longer journeys or when using the carseat on the pram frame. Hadn't seen one that tilts them back before! You can have it seated or tilted.

And with the pram, my only criteria was ease of pushing and folding plus wanting baby to be able to face both ways (when too big for the carrycot and using the chair).

There's so many to choose from! It's nice to read all the different thoughts and see other prams too.

Morning all. A friend just shared this talk about the vaccine for pregnant and breastfeeding women. I thought it might be of interest m.facebook.com/stellacreasy/videos/2006145259541323/?refsrc=https%3A%2F%2Fm.facebook.com%2Fwatch%2F&_rdr

Hi Ladies
Congrats and welcome to those that have found out the gender and anyone new ☺️

On the travel system note, Smyths Toys have travel systems that are much cheaper than many I have seen. Does anyone know the difference? Is it purely just branding?

congrats those of u with scans this week, and more girls to balance out the boy list so far :)
SOmeone has their scan today am sure and cant remember who?! good luck for it! Ours is tomorrow, getting bit nervous, but more excited than was for the 12 week one thats for sure!
We've booked a trip to john lewis next week to check out prams etc - whoever said its a minefield, definitely!
starting to feel proper heavy altho tummy is defo expanding its more just outwards all over than any proper bump :S my hips have defo disappeared.
@Kirky658 and co, how r u all finding the running at the mo?
I managed 5 miles this morn but feel proper plodder but v grateful for just being able to still get out and relatively ok.

SP2Bx · 22/04/2021 10:23

Welcome @Holly91 ! It's an amazing feeling to gain a few more weeks, makes the wait shorter haha! We are due date twins :)

I got my travel system last week. We went for the Venicci Tinum. It's great, so easy to push and fold and change attachments (was really put off the Oyster 3 by how hard it was to get the car seat off!). We tried so many and I'd ignored the Venicci's at first as they seemed a bit "trendy" which I assumed meant not as practical but I couldn't have been more wrong! It's very lightweight, and can be folded down with the seat unit still attached which will be SO handy when baba is old enough to be out of the carrycot!!!

RaeRae84 · 22/04/2021 11:14

@leftitlate37 still running but have just stuck to run 5mins walk 2 because I find it much easier to carry on! I did the C25K and then thought after that I want to enjoy it not feel like it's killing me! So stuck to that since. Much nicer! Only at 4 miles but think I can go for longer now. Going to get back on my bike this weekend (on the turbo) need to make the most of this time rather than just being annoyed I'm feeling so unfit.

@SP2Bx glad you mentioned the oyster as it was something I saw mentioned that was good for a small boot but can't cope with it if it's going to be difficult! Got mamas and papas booked for next Sunday so will see what they say (then buy something cheaper elsewhere 🙈)

Kirky658 · 22/04/2021 12:00

@la1921 awww congrats on your little girl!
@leftitlate37 I've actually slowed right down to about an 11 minute mile now for a 5 mile run. I found my heart rate was getting really high at the end before, now I'm enjoying it a lot more than I was too and its easier!

Anyone else got a muscular bump?! I'm loving it haha

Hopefulmummie · 22/04/2021 12:51

20 week scan done and baby all good :)
I have a cord abnormality which means there's only 2 vessels instead of 3. She said they would just do extra growth scans from 28 weeks to monitor her.

Has anyone ever had this or heard about it?

leftitlate37 · 22/04/2021 13:05

Yay well done @Hopefulmummie glad she's all good!!
@raerae84 @kirky658 glad u r both managing to still run thats ace :) its good to find something that works for u meaning can still get out and enjoy it! I find off road running better as less ppl,can have excuses to stop and take pics etc but feeling more like need to start being careful as dont want to trip and fall.
Muscular bump ? No way haha...my abs disappeared with my hips and the ribs are gonna follow.shortly probs!

Kirky658 · 22/04/2021 13:30

@hopefulmummie glad all is well hunni! Sounds like just some more monitoring required for growth scans 😊
@leftitlate37 yeah I like off road as well but gotta be careful now, my centre of gravity has definitely changed! Haha its such a weird bump its very muscular is the best way to describe it and I've got like lines under my ribs 🤣 it's like my abs have stretched into a rounded shape hahaha

Noodles4Me · 22/04/2021 15:59

When do you all find time to run before work?

That said, I'm assuming you all work same hours as me!! I managed to walk twice a day, lunch and evening but that's it for now!

AdventuresAwait · 22/04/2021 16:12

@Hopefulmummie, glad you've had your scan and baby is good 🥳
I've not heard of the cord thing, sorry. Did they give you much information? Xx

leftitlate37 · 22/04/2021 16:25

@Noodles4Me - only since covid hit and WFH! otherwise NEVER b4 work! 2 walks a day is good :) esp when the weather is this nice! I also find running in morning easier at the mo, as go pre breakfast /drink - by the end of the day i just feel like ive got a days worth of food and drink sat in my belly making everything 100x more uncomfortable!
@Kirky658 have u found your abs feel really painful?! i feel like mine are so sore as if they are trying to hold everything in and im waiting for the day they just give up and out it all pops!!
random question, anyone found any nice summery type clothes for the lower half? when i do go to office ive got leggings or some Next under bump skinny jean type things but its SO HOT. would love some nicer trousers/cropped trousers - trawled online the other day but couldnt find anything really!

Hopefulmummie · 22/04/2021 17:14

@AdventuresAwait not really wasn't really that impressed with sonographer she didn't say much. Just said your meant to have 3 vessels running through cord and I only have 2. Didn't seem that concerned about it and just said I would have growth scans from 28 weeks to monitor her x

Scotti84 · 22/04/2021 17:24

@Hopefulmummie I found my sonographer a bit off at the 20 week scan too. She talked through everything but explained nothing. Wasn't the most friendly or assuring experience. At least you'll get more scans for monitoring, i don't think that's ever a bad thing x

Kirky658 · 22/04/2021 17:28

@leftitlate37 can't say they hurt to be honest atm they did a few weeks back but are deffo popped now. I get stretchy pains though which I think are the ligaments.
@Noodles4Me I alternate between a run before work from 7am (work from home) and runs after work 5:30pm depending on how I feel. Some days I just take the dog on 2 x 45 min walks, those are my rest days which I adore 😂❤️

Hopefulmummie · 22/04/2021 17:42

@scotti84 yeah mine was the same. Kept saying things to herself then not explaining. It's annoying cause it's a big scan for us and you'd like to have a good experience.

I know better them keeping an eye on things if needed. Only thing is I will have to go alone as they still aren't letting partners to appointments except 12 and 20 week scans x

mumof23188 · 22/04/2021 17:56

@Hopefulmummie glad scan went well 😊. Also no experience on the cord but it’s reassuring that they aren’t concerned.

Anyone else struggling with clothes? I can’t seem to find anything! I ordered some lift and shape over the bump jeggings from new look in my usual size 8 and they are huge!!!! So back to leggings 😩. I can’t even seem to find decent leggings! Any ideas? I’m looking forward to it being hot so I can just Chuck on a maxi dress!

Also anybody struggling with body changes? I have zero self confidence as it is and I absolutely hate the way I look in general prior to pregnancy but now I just feel worse 😩

Rach921 · 22/04/2021 18:29

@mumof23188 I feel the same re body changes! I posted on the Facebook group this morning having a whinge as I hate how I look and feel so miserable with it!

D0nut · 22/04/2021 18:53

@mumof23188 @Rach921 I’m not feeling great about my body either. I would say I’ve only just really started showing but I feel like I lost my waist a few weeks back and clothes haven’t been comfortable for a while. I also told someone I’ve not seen for a few weeks that I’m pregnant via text yesterday and he responded ‘yes I’d noticed’ which didn’t help.

leftitlate37 · 22/04/2021 19:21

Ah I hear ya on the body changing front. Trying to roll with it....but having a roll over the top of my trousers is not something I'm loving. Totally get your body changes and for a good reason but this extra fat on my hips and round my middle is not something I'm embracing ! Am not gonna look at scales if get weighed at midwife and might banish my long mirror. Used accessible toilet at work yesterday which has a massive full length mirror and just stood and looked at myself and was like hmmmm pull those trousers back up and yank that top down!
@D0nut that is an inconsiderate comment....but prob not meant at all like it came out. Let's face it...its good that our bodies r changing right shows its doing its thing...

AdventuresAwait · 22/04/2021 20:40

@Hopefulmummie, well it is good they weren't concerned but sorry you didn't have a great experience xx

Bluespace · 22/04/2021 21:33

Hi all, I am due on the 18th September with a little boy. I have a 3 year old daughter who is very excited about her baby brother!

Would it be possible to be added to the fb group? I find it easier to keep up on there! Smile

Squibble84 · 23/04/2021 07:47
