I had the most vivid dream last night that the sonographer told us we were having a girl at our 20wk scan, even though we don't want to find out!

Anyone else had any premonitions before finding out the gender? Did they turn out to be true?

Bubbles1st · 23/04/2021 09:47

I just wanted to say I'm 20 weeks today and so happy and almost in disbelief I am half way!

Squibble84 · 23/04/2021 09:57

Yay I love the half way point! Feels like such a milestone! My baby is now the size of a cantaloupe melon according to my pregnancy app!

leftitlate37 · 23/04/2021 10:06

Yikes @Squibble84! The web said a banana for me haha.
Congrats @Bubbles1st defo agree! Weve got our scan later though and feeling nervous :s
Anyone else got awful hay-fever? Can't stop sneezing, feels like with every sneeze am gonna force out the poor baba haha. Jeez if only it was that easy at 9months eh!

Mamabearwhere · 23/04/2021 10:11

@SP2Bx I been having crazy vivid dreams the whole pregnancy (I mentioned this few threads back) and couple months ago I had a dream that I had a baby boy and it turned out to be true, we’re team blue.

On another note, anyone struggling with “bonding” with the baby/pregnancy? I’m 19 weeks today and still feel very blah. I’m happy and grateful foe the pregnancy which was very wanted but I find myself just riding through the weeks with not much emotion. I don’t remember feeling like this with my other two and remember having so much emotions during the pregnancy towards baby. I don’t know if it’s because I genuinely feel quite afraid to be having a third and all the stress, chaos and sleepless nights that are to come or if it’s because I’m just so busy with my other two and work at the moment. Just interested to hear how others are feeling.

mumof23188 · 23/04/2021 10:28

@Rach921 @D0nut yeah I’m finding the body changes hard. I love my belly but hate my legs and bum. I was ok until I showered in the en suite and saw myself in the big mirror 😭. Some people are so bloody rude with their comments!

@leftitlate37 what time is your scan? Hope all goes well 🥰

SP2Bx · 23/04/2021 11:28

Funnily enough @Mamabearwhere I was just thinking the other day, it's awful to say, but I thought I'd "love" the baby more than I sort of feel like I do at the minute. I'm so grateful and so excited for it and I know it will come I just definitely don't have that bond yet but I'm hoping it's just because I can't feel anything so it's a bit like it doesn't seem real yet? When bump is bigger and I can feel them wriggling around more I'm sure the connection will come... right?

Kirky658 · 23/04/2021 11:38

@mamabearwhere I feel you. I don't think till I feel it kick and see bub on the scan again next week it will feel more attached to me if that makes sense. Atm I just feel like I'm fat 😂 ps bump pic attached! 19+2.

I had the scariest dream last night that Baby was born at 20 weeks, but survived and had all the antenatal care weeks in hospital then we realised how underprepared we were as we had bought nothing! Perhaps a sign I need to go shopping hey 😅

xsjrx · 23/04/2021 11:44

Ooh could I be added please, I'm due 19th Sept and it's a girl but will get confirmed again at anatomy on 4th

Bubbles1st · 23/04/2021 11:47

@Mamabearwhere I felt like this until 17 weeks when we went for a private scan to find the sex. I also think because I wasn't buying things it didn't feel real. My 20 week scan is next week and the bigger purchases will begin, but since find out out he is a boy and discussing names I feel much more in love and bonded.

Are you buying much or do you have everything you need already? Could that be the difference of the 3rd pregnancy and stress - just not as much excitement and newness?

I'm jealous of your bump @Kirky658 mine at 21 weeks still looks like flap rolls 🙈 until the end of the day then it just looks like I'm bloated. Feel like I have no shape.
I understand about the vivid dreams. Mine have been bad since the day I did the test. I get a couple of days with nothing but it's most nights. Most of them are not the nicest either so I wish they would stop.
I try and talk to him and when I feel the little movements I touch my belly but half the time he stops then 😂 I've been trying to get DH to feel but he stops every time. I feel a bit sorry for him as I feel like he's not part of it. I think when I'm bigger and there is more movement, we can both bond a lot more.
@leftitlate37 hope your scan goes well!
@Bubbles1st getting to 20 weeks definitely feels good doesn't it! Although now it feels ages until the next appointment. I feel like something more should be happening 🙈

SP2Bx · 23/04/2021 12:22

That's a definite bump @Kirky658 😍

Rach921 · 23/04/2021 12:27

@Kirky658 that bump 😍🥰

bewitchingnight · 23/04/2021 14:03

Had my 20 week scan today, all healthy and baby was so wriggly. It was a really nice experience, the sonographer was very good at explaining what we were looking at! Much longer and more detailed than the 12 week one and we could see so much more. It was great!

She's a girl! 💖

AdventuresAwait · 23/04/2021 14:14

That's so lovely @bewitchingnight. Glad the scan went well and congratulations on finding out you have a girl! Xx

SillyBry · 23/04/2021 14:41

Hi! I'm due on the 7th :-)

I had my whooping cough vaccine last Friday... it's not that nice! I was exhausted and my arm was incredibly sore for 48 hours. I couldn't lie on that side in bed for 2 nights, which didn't help pregnancy sleep!!!
I think it's because its part of a 5-in-1 booster, which goes into the muscle, so it's a bit mean. But no lasting effects here :-)
(I don't remember it hurting with my 1st I have to say!)

MrsBrett20 · 23/04/2021 14:54

@Bubbles1st Can I be added as well please? I'm due 27th September. We've decided not to find out what we're having (although I'm sorely tempted!)

I'm not finding out either... although I joked that I might struggle to say no if the sonographer asked me!! ;-)
Thankfully she didn't mention gender, so I just left it be... and am happy to have a surprise :-)

Noodles4Me · 23/04/2021 15:12

I've told main bosses at work today. Getting my MATB1 on Monday so all official. Think they were shocked with me being old, probably thought they were safe!! Grin Oh well.

mumof23188 · 23/04/2021 17:42

Had my scan and everything is great 😌. He’s definitely a boy 💙. Was amazing to see him and I’m so glad he’s growing perfectly 🥰

AdventuresAwait · 23/04/2021 18:42

That's lovely to hear @mumof23188! So glad your scan went well and your little boy is great ❤

KHR1 · 23/04/2021 19:23

Congrats everyone who has had scans this week!
@leftitlate37 my hayfever is awful at the moment too! My eyes are so itchy and sorry for TMI but I feel like everytime I sneeze I have to clench hard so I don't pee Blush

leftitlate37 · 23/04/2021 19:54

Hey @bewitchingnight and @mumof23188! Congrats on scans today :) had ours too and all looked ok! Didn't even get option of finding out sex ...wasnt mentioned at all so we r assuming defo is a boy like told at private scan!
Feel like we might finally start some buying and some proper planning!
Ah @KHR1 sorry your hay-fever bad too, haha maybe I better try clenching and work the pelvic floor else I'm worried what might shoot out! Got some nasal spray on prescription yest as the pharmacist wouldn't give me anything, so hope it'll work soon!

bewitchingnight · 23/04/2021 20:02

@leftitlate37 @mumof23188 glad your scans both went well too!

KHR1 · 23/04/2021 20:04

@leftitlate37 glad your scan went well!
Yes, think I need to practise pelvic floor exercises better than I did last time! Hope the nasal spray helps, it's hard finding something you are allowed to take while pregnant.
