@adventuresawait @mumof23188 I've also just got the graphs too. Mine are mid level ish so I've just glanced at them to be honest and that was that.

I find it odd you don't have any more scans and they rely solely on your bump to see if baby is growing?! Just me?

I am getting minor pulling cramps in my pelvis today, not painful but a bit niggly. Don't like having pain. Prefer to be blissfully unaware!

AdventuresAwait · 05/05/2021 10:00

@Catkin7, that makes sense. Mine doesn't have any percentages and I can't find anything online. Thanks for sharing.

AdventuresAwait · 05/05/2021 10:01

Yes @Kirky658, I find it odd too that they only go by bump now. I think there should be at least one more scan!

AdventuresAwait · 05/05/2021 10:28

@mumof23188, yes I would like to book another scan but not sure I'll convince my husband! 20 weeks to the birth just seems so long not to see her again. Maybe I'll change my mind when I feel baby move more.

I don't understand how they can just go by bump measurement... won't weight gain make a difference? Probably a silly question 😊

Sophieandtiger · 05/05/2021 11:47

Hi everyone, Nice to catch up on this thread after a few days.

Has anyone had their 20 week scan rebooked as they couldn't see everything they needed?

After such build up I was hoping for a bit of anxiety relief at my scan this morning but baby was breech so they couldn't see the face nor heart :(. I was planning to tell work this afternoon too so that will have to wait as I'm paranoid now.

The positive I guess is that I'll get to see baby one more time.

@unicornpower I seem to remember we are due dates twins, congrats on finding out you're having a girl!

Bubbles1st · 05/05/2021 13:16

@Sophieandtiger yes that's what happened to me and I was hoping to leave with a big weight lifted and all I did was feel weighed down more!

I have my scan again Friday, I'll be be 22 weeks and hope finally I will feel really relieved for the first time!

I find it so funny how they measure the bump from your belly button to your groin and then tell you how baby is tracking... and they wonder why they end up sending people for growth scans or tell people they'll be having a huge baby and it ends up being perfectly normal!
Honestly, I've heard so many people worried about how they measure and then a growth scan shows its all normal. The NHS just don't like to spend money for no medical gain, so we have to stick with pregnancy being a magical time of guess work!

@Catkin7 I wouldn't worry about the numbers too much - everything shows as normal/within normal range. The sonographer would've highlighted anything that concerned him/her.

@Bubbles1st hope the week goes quickly for you to have your second scan!

I'm 22 weeks now and seems SUCH a long wait until I'm seen by the midwife again at 28 weeks. Although I got my MatB1 form today, which is exciting. But a bit scary as I have to make decisions on when I'll take maternity leave etc.

mumof23188 · 05/05/2021 13:41

@Kirky658 @AdventuresAwait I also don’t have any percentages on mine. I will make sure I ask at my next midwife appointment.

Yes they feel your stomach to find your uterus. It’s crazy but if they have any concerns they will send you for a growth scan. I just had the two scans with my first and she was tiny! Classed as SGA. My second I had growth scans and again I’m having growth scans for this baby.

My OH has said I can have one more 🤣 going to book it for June I think 🤔

Sophieandtiger · 05/05/2021 13:41

All the best for Friday @Bubbles1st. How long was your total wait between the two scans in the end?

Was your baby very wriggly? Mine was all over the place and I have been feeling pretty constant movement since 16 weeks. I know i should be pleased but that in itself is also stressing me out as my first was soooo quiet in the womb so it feels abnormal. Ah well, the worry never ends!

Noodles4Me · 05/05/2021 14:15

I have a scan at 27 weeks with consultant but have also booked a 4D scan for a few days before so I can see baby's face and all the details.

£99 but I hope worth it.

Bubbles1st · 05/05/2021 14:15

@Sophieandtiger
I was 20 + 3 for first scan and will
Be 22 weeks on Friday, it took 3 days for the new appointment to Come through which was the worst wait.

He was wiggly but he was face down which is what caused the most problems. Hoping he has flipped and behaving Friday!

AdventuresAwait · 05/05/2021 14:22

That's what I what to do @Noodles4Me! Just can't decide as we could do with saving money as I'm leaving work but, at the same time, this will be my only pregnancy and I really want to.
I might just do it! So you'll be 27 weeks?

AdventuresAwait · 05/05/2021 14:23

Glad you've got a new date @Bubbles1st! Hope baby has turned and looking forward to hearing about it on Friday xx

SP2Bx · 05/05/2021 17:28

@SillyBry did your MatB1 just come in the post? My work need a copy as soon as I get it and I don't know when to expect it!

I've got my 20wk scan tomorrow and can't wait. I thought I'd have caved before now and had a private one between but haven't felt the need to. To think this is the last time I'll see them before meeting them does seem a bit crazy, but I think when I'm feeling movements and hearing the heartbeat at every midwife appointment it'll get me through :)

2021mumma · 05/05/2021 18:24

Finally got invited to my 20 week scan this Sunday - I will be 23 weeks!! Now I’m super anxious 😟

bewitchingnight · 05/05/2021 18:25

@SP2Bx I got mine at the 20 week scan appointment

@Bubbles1st glad you've got a new date, it's nearly Friday!

SillyBry · 05/05/2021 18:26

@SP2Bx my midwife told me to get in touch with her after my 20 week scan. I sent her a text snd she wrote it on Friday. Picked it up from the drs today!

Noodles4Me · 05/05/2021 18:30

Yeah @AdventuresAwait, two scans in three days but I don't mind!

I had to badger maternity services for my MatB, and looks like will be same for Whooping Cough job. It's like midwives have lost interest in me as I'm more consultant led and will be toward end.

SP2Bx · 05/05/2021 18:43

Thanks @SillyBry @bewitchingnight @Noodles4Me

I completely forgot I have my whooping cough jab tomorrow as well thanks for the reminder! Also reminded me to give them my referral slip for my Anti-D jab 🙈 It's going to be a long appointment by the sounds of it!

SillyBry · 05/05/2021 18:51

You’ve got loads of time to get your whooping cough jab, don’t worry! I think until about 30 weeks?
I feel a bit lost as I don’t see the midwife until 28 weeks now. Last saw her at 16 weeks... apparently we’re supposed to know what we’re doing when we’ve had a baby before...! 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣

GWhiteley · 05/05/2021 20:04

Has anyone else's bladder gone nuts since going past 20 weeks? Today I went 3 times in a row before leaving the house, drank nothing for the hr or so I was out & needed to go again when I got in!

Poppins2016 · 05/05/2021 21:21

@GWhiteley Yep, my bladder is definitely feeling it (23 weeks at the end of this week). Not looking forward to when it gets worse and I start waking up at night because I need the loo, I ended up going at least twice a night at the end of my first pregnancy!

Bubbles1st · 05/05/2021 21:26

@Poppins2016 lucky you! I d been going twice a night for a wee since about week 12 .... if love to sleep through!

OP posts:
GWhiteley · 05/05/2021 21:47

I'm also 23 weeks on Friday & have been getting up in the middle of the night for a wee for weeks as well @Bubbles1st! Sometimes twice if I'm really unlucky 😂

AdventuresAwait · 05/05/2021 21:48

I'm the same as you @Bubbles1st! I've been having to get up 2 to 3 times in the night for weeks. It's going to increase too, isn't it?!
