@Mamabearwhere yep, I'm ok, I dont feel like I've got fatter other than my stomach obviously, but I'm 5kg heavier than my my weight and its slowly rising nearly daily. I don't eat much either, probably less now than before I was pregnant, I guess if the dr doesn't say anything I'm in the normal range?

Noodles4Me · 04/05/2021 16:04

@deedeebythesea I'd just got out of bath so he may have been hot and nearer the surface (no idea Grin) it was weird to see but OH saw it which was cool as he hasn't felt anything yet.

I'd say to everyone don't worry about weight gain unless it's extreme. Easier said than done I know!

I'm one of those rare beasts who think my body is awesome whatever its size (don't ask me how I got this mindset!!!)

GWhiteley · 04/05/2021 16:16

@crobo87 yes I've had awful cramp on & off for the past few weeks. One morning I just couldn't get rid of it & it kept coming back even though my leg was relaxed. It was really painful & hung around for about 2 days afterwards, especially in the morning stretching it straight to walk. I hope yours eases soon!

LouiseJayne23 · 04/05/2021 16:29

@Catkin7 I've got exactly the same concerns with my baby (also a girl)! I was told everything was looking great, but when I got home and looked at the printed results I saw baby's head was on 9th centile but everything else was significantly larger - I phoned Triage to double check this was normal, and they took a look with a Doctor (and looked at my previous sons measurements, who's head was on 98th centile) and they have booked me in for a growth scan later this month. I'm sure all is fine, but I was reassured they were going to do another scan to make sure.

GWhiteley · 04/05/2021 16:32

I really need to go pram shopping but have to admit I have no clue where to start! All these 3in1 prams really confuse me as why would you have one that's got a car seat & a carrycot that can both be used from birth on the pram? Surely you just need one or the other? Doesn't really make sense to me!

Mamabearwhere · 04/05/2021 16:44

@GWhiteley the advice is that car seats aren’t meant to be used for longer than 2 hours as baby needs to be laying flat (hence the carrycot). If you know you’re not going to be out for more than 2 hours (including driving time) then you can just use the car seat otherwise a carrycot is the safer solution.

bewitchingnight · 04/05/2021 16:47

@unicornpower a girl! congrats! glad it all went well!

@Mamabearwhere I've put on the same as you but I'm hungry all the time. On the nhs website there's a video where they talk about all the different things that contribute to the weight gain (blood, uterus, placenta etc) which made me feel a bit better. I think I'll try not to weigh myself tbh because it just makes me feel down

GWhiteley · 04/05/2021 16:52

Thanks @Mamabearwhere for explaining it. At least I know now why they include both.

The bit I don't get though is what if you needed to drive for longer than 2 hrs & baby has to come with you, what would you do then about the baby being in the car seat for longer than advised?

Mamabearwhere · 04/05/2021 16:59

@GWhiteley no worries. I also found it so confusing initially with my first.

Regarding long driving distance, the advice is that you stop for regular breaks and take them out of the car seat and they shouldn’t be in the seat for longer than 2 hours. There is a lot of useful info on the lullabytrust website which you might want to have a look at.

Having said all this, I hardly ever used my carrycot because my lifestyle just didn’t require it (short walks, stayed fairly local for drives for the first 6 months) and I used a baby carrier a lot more so found that much easier than a bulky pram.

GWhiteley · 04/05/2021 17:06

@Mamabearwhere thank you so much for explaining it - there are so many pitfalls for first time mums & so many things you don't get told. I know there's a lot out there nowadays for new mums, but if I'm honest I don't read it as I find it massively overwhelming. But then I do worry about things at the same time!

I like the idea of those baby carriers for if I go for a walk or even short trips out in the car, but will end up getting a pram as well as can't see my husband using one of those if he took the baby anywhere 😂

Poppins2016 · 04/05/2021 17:19

Hi all, I dropped off the face of the earth for a bit, life got hectic, so this is my first post this thread! I can't believe how fast time is flying... a friend is due to give birth this month and there are 16 weeks between our due dates... those weeks are going to fly!

@Bubbles1st please can you add me to your list? Team yellow, we didn't find out the sex at the 20 week scan, I like surprises!

AdventuresAwait · 04/05/2021 18:30

Yay @unicornpower, so glad all was good with your scan!

Bubbles1st · 04/05/2021 18:38

@Poppins2016 of course. When are you due?

Sorry, @Bubbles1st I should have remembered! 4th September. Thank you! 🙂

Hopefulmummie · 04/05/2021 19:22

It's been announced in Northern Ireland today that you can have something to all prenatal appointments and with you all the time for the birth.. Its def cheered me up. I hope this changes in all trusts if it hasn't already.

The thought of doing early labour alone was giving me anxiety

Kirky658 · 04/05/2021 20:23

@unicornpower fantastic news welcome to the girls club 😍
@hopefulmummie that's great news!

unicornpower · 05/05/2021 08:04

Thanks @AdventuresAwait @bewitchingnight and @Kirky658 I still don't believe it as I was convinced she was a boy! I feel like I want a second opinion Grin

ams92 · 05/05/2021 08:26

Hey all! 30th September due date - did a private scan and we're having a girl!

MrsTD88 · 05/05/2021 08:30

@Kirky658 I have been feeling absolutely knackered too. Currently on holiday with husband and daughter and I feel so drained! Trying to muster up the motivation to go swimming with them this morning. I also have a high anterior placenta, I have recently started to feel some definite movements, usually when I have a glass of ice water but nothing consistent yet. Currently 19+2.

@unicornpower glad your scan went well and congratulations on your girl 💝

@ams92 congratulations 💝

Kirky658 · 05/05/2021 08:46

@ams92 congrats!
@mrstd88 bless you, I sometimes find some exercise wakes me up when I can get myself out of bed!

Glad to see the exhaustion isn't just me, I was starting to worry I might be anaemic so that's positive 😊

Catkin7 · 05/05/2021 09:20

Congratulations on all the new girls. So exciting.

@LouiseJayne23 will you let me know how it goes? Looking at mine it said the 8th percentile while the femur was 83 so long legs and small head. I do have an anterior placenta as well and was hoping she measured wrong. I have messaged my midwife but had no response so far.
My first daughter was 7lb born..which I would say is normal. I didn’t realise they look at previous pregnancies so it’s written in my notes that even though I was overdue with her and she weighed 7lb she was born at 18th percentile. She’s very tall and very bright so I’m keeping that in mind. I want another scan, purely because they said I’m low risk and only get 2 😂

Also I don’t see myself as low risk, I have HG and still being sick now at almost 22 weeks 😭

AdventuresAwait · 05/05/2021 09:20

@ams92... congratulations! 🥳

AdventuresAwait · 05/05/2021 09:29

@Catkin7 and @LouiseJayne23, silly question but I can't see where it says the percentile on my NHS scan report... I have the measurements and a little bar where it is plotted against them but no record of what they actually are. Does yours say or have you worked it out? Thanks!

mumof23188 · 05/05/2021 09:38

@AdventuresAwait I also am confused as to what centile baby was measuring at the 20 week scan. I just have the graphs too!

Wow lots more girls 💗

I’ve been quiet as DS has been poorly and life’s been crazy with OH working away. Anyone else thinking of booking another scan? My next scan is a growth scan but not til I’m 32 weeks so feels like forever away.

Catkin7 · 05/05/2021 09:39

@AdventuresAwait
I think it’s these percentages.
I don’t understand what some of the initials mean even though I have Googled them. Wish they would write it so we could understand.
So the number is the percentile. That’s what I’ve take it as.
