Hey everyone, hope you're all well. 😊
@Bubbles1st thanks for updating the list!

Wow! How the pinks have caught up since I've last been on here!

We had a 20wk scan this week and it was so great to see the little bubba again 💕 Dh and I decided to start shopping only after this point but I kind of want to put it off due to lack of space for big baby items in the house. How many of you have started pram shopping? We've torn between ICandy, Egg2 and Cybex.

@Eppy123 so sorry to hear about your previous losses. We're due on the same day! Have you had your scan yet?

@Maybebaby29 @Bigdreamer9 also due date twins! 🤗

Kirky658 · 01/05/2021 13:38

@bubbles1st thanks for the updated list so cool to see it written down 😍

Squibble84 · 01/05/2021 14:07

Thanks @Bubbles1st!

Has anyone got their linea nigra yet? Can’t remember when mine appeared last time but I thought I’d got it by the 2nd trimester!

RadDarwazeh · 01/05/2021 14:36

@Taybz I have heard the egg is a bit of a heavy one. Try them in stores if you can. Other mums I've spoken to said then you get a true feel for it.

Not got my Linea yet!

Eppy123 · 01/05/2021 14:39

Thanks for the welcome everyone, I feel so much more relaxed after our scan yesterday. We went and chose our pram today and picked up a few bits in TK Maxx ☺️ Hope everyone is keeping well and having enjoyable pregnancies so far!

mumof23188 · 01/05/2021 15:33

Love the list @Bubbles1st looks more even now with the boys and girls ☺️

@Squibble84 not yet but I did have one with my last pregnancy and my belly button popped 🤣

I called the mau this morning as my cervix has been really painful and achy and feels like something is going to fall out! She said it’s perfectly normal and gets worse with each pregnancy 😱. This is baby number 3!!

Taybz · 01/05/2021 17:19

@Squibble84 yes I've got my tiger stripe now but it's still faint 😃

@RadDarwazeh thanks, that's good to know. We're definitely planning on testing it first but it's been quite hard to find a store with it. Have you got yours yet?

Mamabearwhere · 01/05/2021 18:07

@Bubbles1st the carry cot is for such a short time and unless you plan on doing 2+ hour walks with the buggy a car seat plus baby carrier will be enough to until they reach 6 months when they can go into the seat. With my previous two babies I found I hardly used the carrycot and it just took up boot space.

TooManyAnimals94 · 01/05/2021 18:11

@Bubbles1st please add me to the next list. Due on the 8th with a girl 🙂

SP2Bx · 01/05/2021 18:41

@Taybz we got our pram a couple of weeks ago, went for the Venicci Tinum. Tried lots but none of the ones you mentioned (although a couple of friends have iCandys and if shops hadn't have opened that's probably what I would've gone with). Try get somewhere to test out if you can! I can't imagine a newborn in the seat unit even if laid flat but probably only because I've never seen it! And I suppose if you can make do with the car seat/carrier combo then a carry cot is a bit redundant! I just like the idea of them having somewhere to sleep say if we go to visit friends/family for the day it makes a good travel Moses basket!

@Squibble84 I didn't realise everybody got a linea negra? Is it not a bit like the belly button popping thing, doesn't happen to everyone?

2021mumma · 01/05/2021 19:06

@Bubbles1st we had the bugaboo fox last time (still got it) the carry cot converts into the flat pushchair he didn’t really like the carry cot and to be honest for trips out/nipping round shops I would just use car seat on pram base which he preferred. I think I will probably turn it back into carry cot for the early days but they don’t stay in that stage for long at all x

Squibble84 · 01/05/2021 19:08

We’ve just bought the icandy orange to replace our old buggy - using it for 18 month old at the moment and it’s great - it’s got massive storage underneath and a built in buggy board and the canopy comes down to completely block the sun which was a big selling point for me as the icandy peach we had before didn’t do this. It came with a carry cot and adapters so we can convert it into a double in September.

@SP2Bx having just googled it, you’re right no they don’t! I just assumed everyone got one! My belly buttons popped already but it didn’t until the 3rd trimester last time, my stomach muscles aren’t what they used to be! 😅

KHR1 · 01/05/2021 21:12

@SP2Bx I didn't get a linea negra in my last pregnancy and my belly button never popped. Midwife seemed a bit surprised it never popped out

RadDarwazeh · 01/05/2021 21:13

@Taybz I haven't got mine yet but tried out the Strada at mamas papas. Booked in to take DH to try it too before we purchase!

I might pop to tkmaxx too after the 20 week get something cute to commemorate the occasion

Anyone felt movement yet?

SillyBry · 01/05/2021 22:21

@Bubbles1st my first hated being in a carrycot from about 3.5 months as she couldn’t see the world around her!
We also had an out n about sport, which has a lie flat seat and is world facing (to run with once baby was 6 months and for horse shows etc...) she went in it happily enough from a few weeks old. I would say they look titchy in there in the early days, but you can wrap them up with blankets etc to make it cosy still.
I had an ergo 360 for carrying, which is a real workhorse. Got amazing value of out of it as my 4 year old can still squeeze in it now on my back if she gets desperate for a ride on a long walk. It’s a hundred times easier to carry them in a carrier than in your arms. They get heavy remarkably quickly otherwise 🤣

Bubbles1st · 02/05/2021 06:29

@SillyBry thanks I really think no actual
Carry cot might become an option!

Yes I did mean carry in a carrier and not arms, maybe I should have been clearer, although the options are just as over whelming!

Hi again everyone, hope you're all doing well

Q for those who've had 20wk scans - did you need to have a full bladder?

I'm finally starting to relax with this pregnancy, experiencing the first gentle kicks this week and it is the most amazing feeling. Is anyone already / planning to play music to bump? I have been looking at the machines with pads you can stick on - is this worth it / even necessary?

AdventuresAwait · 02/05/2021 08:46

@showmorekindness, I had my 20 week scan on Friday and didn't need a full bladder (but also didn't for the 12 week scan either).
When is yours? Exciting, isn't it?

I want to play music to baby, yes. I didn't know about the pads, so just looked them up. I'm also interested to know if it's worth it... definitely want to play music to baby so would get them if it is 😊

RaeRae84 · 02/05/2021 09:39

@showmorekindness I had a full bladder because I didn't know if I should or not. I still don't know what the actual answer is but she told me I got bladder of the day 😂 (I tend to overfill in paranoia!)
Interested about the music thing. I just assumed I could hold my phone to my belly!
@SillyBry did you get that carrier from mamas and papas? I've just had a quick look online as I'm going there today so thought I would ask for a look at them

CobleCloud · 02/05/2021 09:42

@showmorekindness for both my scans 12 and 20 weeks the appointment letter advised me to have a full bladder and to do so drink 1 pint of water an hour before my appointment time which I did. At my 20 week scan on Monday she said my bladder was nice and full and that's all I had done as my letter said. Not sure if it's 100% necessary though I just followed the advice just in case 😊

AdventuresAwait · 02/05/2021 09:54

@RaeRae84 and @showmorekindness, I did the same with overfilling for my 12 week scan! Too much so because I was desperate for the toilet and worried about holding it in. Laid down and the sonographer started, said immediately that she could see baby very clearly and so I could go and empty my bladder as I didn't need it. Private scan at 17 weeks said the same so maybe it is positioning too that makes a difference, I don't know. So then I didn't for my 20 week scan (just normal fluid intake) and it was fine. But this is just my experience... I always follow the guidance otherwise.

leftitlate37 · 02/05/2021 11:00

Ah @SillyBry the run broke me last week haha.this week is diff story!! Lovely u have a 4y old already, and that u ran with her! Thanks for tip for fb group! What buggy did u have to run with?
Wow 7th sept gonna be a busy one eh! Have u got family around to help?! Exciting times tho. Sounds like a good rhythm of sharing stuff so can fit exercise in. I work 25 miles away so trying to figure if get a nursery there and limit extra time would need childcare either end of working day, or whether to use my mid commute to stop for a 30min run and get stuff out the way during the work day?!
We've been sussing out cribs etc ...was looking at the next to me ones, and even second hand by time u buy sep mattress and bedding its the same price as new.
@Kirky658 exciting with pram shopping we did that yesterday!!! Eyes were on stalks at the prices ha but was so so useful to try them out round the shop and see if we could get them up and down!
Congrats @Eppy123! Sorry 2 hear about your last baby :( same situation as u and its taken a long time for this to feel really exciting rather than nerve wracking.
@Taybz we looked at the egg yesterday, did find it a bit heavier altho really liked style and easy to put up and down, also didn't find it as easy to maneuvere as others.
@showmorekindness didn't need full blabber for 20w! Letter didn't say i did then receptionist was likenyes u do! So fanatically necked 500ml and was bursting! Sonographer was like no no u don't need to be full! Then had scan absolutely bursting haha.

Kirky658 · 02/05/2021 12:25

@showmorekindess I had a full bladder for mine last week, drank what they said to but my bladder was so full they had a right giggle about it and made me pee so they could get their measurements 🤣

SillyBry · 02/05/2021 14:46

@Bubbles1st it’s a total minefield! Lots of people recommended going to my local sling library to try various carriers! I knew I wanted a more structured one as didn’t trust myself to tie one! But there are so many!

@RaeRae84 the carrier we had was the ergo baby 360: ergobaby.co.uk/baby-carrier/four-position-360/360-all-positions-baby-carrier-cool-air-mesh-sea-mist
They may well sell them in mamas and papas. I got mine in John Lewis I think. They have a better hip position than the baby bjorn 👍🏻 There is a bit of a knack to getting baby on your back and strapped in with they are older, but there is a while to worry about that!
@leftitlate37 I did a 10km run this morning and oh my god, I felt it. I’m walking around the house stiff as anything!! It’s just my groin/pelvic girdle muscles that are so achey - think it’s fine for a support belt for running! 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣 I went off road and the first half was downhill, which I thought would be lovely... but it was really hard work! Second half was uphill, so at least I was allowed to walk more!!
I run with an out n about sport. It’s a proper beast! The Thule glide is lighter and more of a Ferrari to push, but it’s so much more expensive, we couldn’t justify it! My four year old still likes to hop in for the odd buggy run, which is so nice! Although I last took her at 16 weeks and decided pregnant buggy running was too much hard work for me 🤣
