@SP2Bx I've not lost any but haven't gained any either. I have a higher BMI so it's not a bad thing lol.
I've found for the last few months I get full much quicker than before so I'm rarely snacking which I think has helped x

CherylLW · 27/04/2021 08:41

Good Morning Everyone 😊
I know there is a lot of talk about our babies movements. I’m really struggling at the moment, I feel like I’m in a kind on limbo of feeling movements quite a bit and then nothing! Like one morning/evening it can be quite regular and then the next nothing!

I’m 21+4 now and I have an anterior high placenta so I know it can take a little longer for any sort of pattern.

Just not enjoying this stage of not knowing! Anyone else feeling the same or similar?

Kirky658 · 27/04/2021 08:49

@rach921 think that's what's bugging me more is I've done something to my ankle, think it's tendonitis, so having to take a few days off running which I'm not loving!
@adventuresawait is your scan tomorrow as well or am I dreaming??

I had nightmares about mine last night, don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight. Just want a happy healthy baby, not bothered about the gender!

CherLW · 27/04/2021 09:03

@Kirky658 I had awful dreams before my 20 week scan... then even tho they are only dreams they play on your mind all the next day!! Hope your scan goes well, it’s such a detailed one! X

RaeRae84 · 27/04/2021 09:14

@CherylLW I am the same. We are only a couple of days difference. I said to my friend yesterday I feel frustrated as nothing is really happening. I have felt movements for weeks but it's so sporadic.
I keep telling myself it's my first baby and with this placenta issue it's still going to take a few more weeks.
I would be happier to feel more so I feel like being a boated, tired mess is great when you can feel him wriggling! I will probably regret saying this in a months time 🙈

CherLW · 27/04/2021 09:22

@RaeRae84 mine are also very sporadic.. I actually felt quite relaxed in between my 12 week scan and then feeling movements at about 18 weeks... now I’m just worrying that they aren’t often enough!
It’s my first baby too so that with the placenta issue does calm me a bit too.

Haha i feel the same don’t worry! At the moment I just feel bloated and for the past week or so I’ve felt more tired than I have all pregnancy so far!

leftitlate37 · 27/04/2021 09:43

congrats @CobleCloud on scan and another for team blue!
Ah i havent dared weigh myself, seeing the changes are one thing but really don't want to quantify the added kgs as used to be obsessed with what the scales actually say so am staying firmly off them. Suffice to say im definitely growing!
haha @Noodles4Me i thought this, why the heck are my pants feeling tight!!!? there is no baby down there! grrrr, felt like arse and thighs expanded pre belly to be honest.
oh well all in a good cause right. Just trying to eat well and exercise plenty whilst i can, cutting some running down and doing swimming as well so hope i can keep my body in 1 piece! Feel so full with dinner though, think am going to have to cut my meal in half - stilll get hungry but definitely fill up so quick it then gets so uncomfortable!
@CherylLW definitely the same as u, am 21 weeks and movements are sporadic, think i prob do feel them every day but really varies and i think at weekend when was really busy out n about i was worried hadnt felt him but was probably cos didnt really sit down, when sat on my bum all day for work I notice those little movements. So weird seeing your belly like pulse when they kick etc!
Did realise where my constant need to wee when am running was coming from, apparently his head is resting right on my bladder!
cant believe where the time is going, it'll be like 5 months in a few days, eeeeek!

CherLW · 27/04/2021 09:57

@leftitlate37 same here... when I’m busy or when I’m at work I hardly feel anything but when I’m in bed or sat watching tv... that’s when I feel him moving about. The past week there has been some definite kicks or punches at my bladder which is a weird sensation!

RaeRae84 · 27/04/2021 09:58

I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling tired!! I thought 2nd trimester was meant to be a breeze in comparison to the 1st and 3rd but I just feel wiped out.
With regards to the weight issue, I'm with @leftitlate37 and staying off the scales! Having had body issues for over 20 years, I'm not going upset myself by seeing the weight gain on them! Definitely getting bigger everywhere. I'm mainly devastated about not fitting in my running leggings, I have a beautiful collection but can now only fit into about 5 of them. Using them as my goal next year to fit back in!

AdventuresAwait · 27/04/2021 10:10

@CherylLW, I'm 20+5 with a high anterior placenta and have only just started feeling what I think are little movements but very sporadic. Really want to feel them more regularly for some reassurance.

@Kirky658, my scan is Friday! Starting to get a bit nervous though I had one at 17 weeks & all looked good. All the best for yours tomorrow!

With all the weight gain, I'm now worrying how much I've put on! I don't have scales. I had a higher BMI before pregnancy anyway. I'm guessing they'll weigh me at the 20 week scan on Friday? Hoping it's not loads...

leftitlate37 · 27/04/2021 10:18

yes @RaeRae84! thats a good goal :) i just want to throw out all my skinny jeans that dont fit as hate it, but not going too as determined that come 2022 i can wear them again! good u still have some running leggings that you can wear :) i have endless supply of tops but not many bottoms and this could get interesting v soon when bump proper pops as not sure what gonna wear!
@AdventuresAwait i literally just had a scan at my 20w appt, was waiting to see a midwife as directed then got told actually i wouldnt see anyone til 25/16 wk appt and that i could go!
anyone who hasnt managed to have partners at scans, check if guidance has changed! we'd been really lucky that DH could attend for last 5 mins, and come to other antenatal appts, but when came last week they'd changed rules and were surprised he could come in for whole scan! would have hated to find someone had stayed at home and then found rules had changed!

CherLW · 27/04/2021 10:20

@AdventuresAwait mine are definitely movements, they have become stronger (only slightly) since my 20 week scan.

I hate the weight gain but I know it’s a necessity. When I went to my 20 week they didn’t weigh me!! I’m expecting it maybe at my 25 week midwife appointment which will be at 26 weeks.

Hoping all the up and coming scans go well! ❤️

RaeRae84 · 27/04/2021 10:44

@leftitlate37 totally get that!!
This weekend I'm taking everything out of my wardrobe that doesn't fit (and won't for a long time!) Packing them into vacuum bags so I don't get stressed every time I open my wardrobe!

unicornpower · 27/04/2021 11:11

Sorry girls i missed a few days! In terms of weight gain @SP2Bx I'm in a similar boat to you. i lost almost a stone with the initial sickness and am only starting to gain it back, so i'm kind of on the back foot with it all. Now i can eat i am slowly gaining but i think iv put back on about 4lb so far(?!) i told the midwife i was worried about the growth of baby as i was so malnourished for about 15 weeks, but she said it was okay to not gain loads at this point but equally fine if you have so its just different for each of us. I know how you all feel about not being overly comfortable in your bodies, I'm not used to having a round belly so it's very strange.

good luck for everyones scans! Im living through you all at the moment as mine isnt until next week!

mumof23188 · 27/04/2021 12:23

Hi all. Hope everyone is well. Good luck to everyone who has their scans. The baby girls are definitely catching up with the boys now 💗💙. Started to feel more movement over the last couple of days and definitely felt a few kicks. I also am not weighing myself at all. I don’t want to know what the damage is 🤣.

Bubbles1st · 27/04/2021 16:21

Had my 20 week scan today. What they could see was perfect but little man was face down and she struggled with some measurements. The machine and my high BMI also meant the images were not as clear as they could have been so I have to go to a bigger hospital for my rescan.

I know chances are everything else ok too but having been waiting so long for today and to feel a full sense of relief and really disappointed I couldn't come away with that feeling.

I can't feel him move yet and it's amazing how much he was moving around in there so I'm hoping that I can feel that before next scan to help settle the nerves .

CobleCloud · 27/04/2021 17:22

Aw @Bubbles1st do not worry.. I had a similar experience with my BMI and the position of baby at my second 12 week scan (had 2 due to not been able to get the fluid measurement the first time) and came away then feeling a bit disappointed and down, I even actually cried in the car on the way home. I really do think some days our body and baby just don't want to be disturbed. The next one could be a totally different experience. I've had 3 scans in total all were different and after my bad 12 week one I was so anxious and worried about my 20 week one yesterday but actually turned out ok! 😊

In terms of movement I haven't really been able to feel my little man yet either.. I was amazed yesterday seeing him wriggling around of screen yet I could not feel a thing. Xx

bewitchingnight · 27/04/2021 17:37

@Bubbles1st @CobleCloud yes, couldn't believe how much they were moving and I couldn't feel anything, so strange.

@Bubbles1st what a shame, it's a big anticlimax. When I had my 12 week scan (also have a high bmi) the lady doing it said when it came to the 20 week one not to worry if they can't get all the measurements done in one go. At mine they did, but I did have to wiggle about and lie on my side at one point, I think it's just luck of the draw whether they are in an easy to view position or not. Do you have to wait long for the next one?

bluemagicalsky · 27/04/2021 18:44

Thanks for the link to the Pilates workout @Mamabearwhere Couldn't get to the gym today so thought I'd give it a go. Challenging and feels so good to have done it

Mamabearwhere · 27/04/2021 18:53

@bluemagicalsky ah glad you enjoyed it too, feels so good once you’re done doesn’t it?

bluemagicalsky · 27/04/2021 19:12

@Mamabearwhere It does! I thought 23 minutes would be a breeze, oh I wrong I was! 😂

Bubbles1st · 27/04/2021 19:38

Thanks ladies. The sonographer did say it was actually quite common to rescan and usually nothing to be concerned about but definitely an anti climax!

OP posts:
SillyBry · 27/04/2021 20:04

I had to have a rescan for my first pregnancy as they couldn't see the face clearly to rule out cleft lip. I was actually secretly pleased as I got to see baby again 2 weeks later! This time, baby was very compliant and so I don't get the extra sneak peak! ;-)

Kirky658 · 27/04/2021 20:19

@bubbles1st that sucks but try and see it as you get a bonus peek at your little one ❤️

My turn tomorrow 😬 driving myself mental trying to decide whether or not to book the NCT classes as they've been moved to zoom, nice I'm taking my mind of it haha

AdventuresAwait · 27/04/2021 20:36

@Bubbles1st, sorry to hear that couldn't do it all today but good that what they saw was all good. And like others said, you get to see him again! Do you know when your rescan will be?
