@CherylLW @leftitlate37 exciting! Enjoy your scans ladies ☺️. Do you have any feelings towards wether baby is a boy or a girl?

CherylLW · 27/03/2021 09:36

Thanks everyone, I’m nervous but don’t know why 🙈 I wish I had booked it earlier in the day! I’ll let you know how it goes after ❤️

I feel things that feel like something is turning in my tummy and then when I wake or am awake in the night I feel little things... I like to think it’s the baby and not just gas!

@mumof23188 I don’t have any feelings really... last year I was pregnant but unfortunately had a MC at just under 12 weeks and I just knew it was a boy from the beginning.

Hope it goes well @leftitlate37 will be thinking of you, xx

KHR1 · 27/03/2021 09:36

@Squibble84 @SP2Bx glad I'm not alone! I know so many people had a surprise but then so many people knowing on here makes me tempted to find out! I'm hoping I can wait it out.
@FTEngineerM last time I was so so desperate to find out but then I kept worrying it was wrong which is what's motivating me to not know this time. I might cave though...

Rach921 · 27/03/2021 10:05

Good luck today @CherylLW and @leftitlate37 xx

leftitlate37 · 27/03/2021 11:15

Thanks all!! Not long now! @mumof23188 no idea....given the boys on here I'm thinking surely a girl?! My mum reckons girl cos I told her I felt my thighs were getting fat but I think its wishful thinking on her part as she's got grandsons so far ;)
@FTEngineerM u r totally right , if ppl have several kids surely its doable .....hope I'm made of strong stuff.

So much to catch up on and so interesting to hear everyone’s birth stories. Each birth is really so different. Here’s my stories. My first I had an epidural after 2 hours of contractions and then 10 hour wait before I could push. I literally felt nothing throughout labour end delivery and even helped pull baby out. It was so surreal and strangely peaceful. I remember being on FaceTime to my sister while on epidural and putting a bit of make up on even during the day while waiting to reach 10cm. Birth 2 however couldn’t have been different. I got to hospital and they examined me and said I’m only 2cm and should go home. My instinct told me to refuse to go home and I insisted they keep me in and they agreed to let me stay in their examination room as apparently they had no free birthing rooms. I asked for some gas and air while waiting as contracting suddenly got really bad. 35 minutes later I was pushing and screaming and telling them the baby’s head is out. No one believed me until they pulled my leggings off and realised shoot yes baby is coming. I literally went for 2cm to 10cm in less than an hour of arriving in the hospital. Had to be wheelchaired up to (a suddenly free) birthing room but I couldn’t sit because her head was literally out so I was holding myself up on the wheelchair. I remember it being extremely dramatic while having contractions and then apologising to the midwives for screaming in between each contraction.

Someone once said as traumatic as a long long labour can be, a very short one is equally crazy and I couldn’t agree more. I gave birth at 7am and was back home on my sofa with my baby by 7pm. Everything seemed to have been speeded up!

It couldn’t haven been more different from my first birth and I’m slightly terrified of how different this birth will be.

mumof23188 · 27/03/2021 11:31

@CherylLW sorry to hear about your mc ❤️. I get nervous too before every scan! Looking forward to hear what baby is ☺️

@leftitlate37 what time is it? 😁. Ahhh you never know, it’s 50-50. I thought girl initially for me as I was so sick like I was when I was pregnant with my DD. Had no sickness with my DS. Enjoy your scan 💕

Scotti84 · 27/03/2021 12:05

@Mamabearwhere 😳 wow... that sounds like an experience, thank god you didn't go home!

I guess there is no planning then? Whatever will happen will happen and when baby is ready it will make its way out regardless of how it 'should' be. I guess it makes me a bit calmer that it is so unpredictable, because then there's not much I can worry about until the time. I hate my preference atm is normal birth, then c section and lastly induced.

Squibble84 · 27/03/2021 12:06

@Mamabearwhere wow two very different experiences of labour there! It’s crazy how spot on mama instincts can be! That’s a lucky thing you refused to go home!

In my last baby train on mumsnet, a few of the ladies had accidental home births due to the baby arriving so quickly!

If anyone missed out on the Facebook group and still wants to join, PM me and I’ll add you!

bewitchingnight · 27/03/2021 12:51

Wow thanks everyone for sharing your birth stories! So interesting to read and they are all so different.

@CherylLW and @leftitlate37 how exciting about your scans today, enjoy!

mumof23188 · 27/03/2021 12:53

I’ll add my labours in ..... 1st baby 24 hours of slow labour, had a couple of visits to the ward as contractions were so painful. Waters popped as i was leaving the second time but I didn’t tell anyone! Went back in a few hours later and I had finally reached 4cm and then things progressed quickly. Tried the birthing pool which helped aswell as having gas and air but when it came to pushing I was far to hot so got out and delivered my DD on the bed. Things went a bit wrong from then on and my placenta was stuck. It’s called a retained placenta! Was rushed to theatre and they managed to give me an epidural and I had a manual removal! The recovery was super painful but it was all worth it! Second labour was unbelievable, 4 hours from start to finish!! Waters popped at 10.30pm, contractions started 15 mins later, DS born at 2.30am! Don’t get me wrong labour is super hard and super painful but at the same time it’s amazing ❤️

Bubbles1st · 27/03/2021 13:08

Thanks for all experiences ladies.

Anyone who signed up to the hypno birthing course last weekend, have you joined the Facebook group? So many different experiences to read.

I guess it's all just a surprise until show time!

leftitlate37 · 27/03/2021 13:16

@RaeRae84 every single labour is different, nobody know what yours will be like, kinda exciting. Yours could be super smooth like the hypno birthing videos show!

Wow @Mamabearwhere it’s amazing that you just knew, you body just have taken over and was like ‘nope, we’re about to have a baby whether you like it or not’ 😂

Mamabearwhere · 27/03/2021 14:36
