@KHR1 thanks for the heads up about the Asda bras... I’ve got a few sort of crop top style ones but I definitely need the support, I’m dreading how big my boobs will get 🤦🏻‍♀️

Kirky658 · 14/04/2021 09:36

@raerae84 awww thanks lovely! Today was a decent day, I'm averaging under an 11 min mile so happy with that. I was about 8:30 min mile before pregnancy so I wonder if that's helped maybe 🤔🤣 I still feel unfit as hell but glad I can keep at it, I'd love to keep going till parkrun starts again in June. Enjoy your day off ❤️

SP2Bx · 14/04/2021 10:24

All of you runners are an inspiration! I haven't set foot in our garage gym since finding out 🙈 but I would like to start back up again next week.

@CherylLW @KHR1 Not sure which ASDA bras you went for but I actually don't find the ones I have too bad and I'm a 34F usually. Plus it's all about comfort for me at the minute anyway, you should see the clip of me today 😅

I'm having a really rough couple of days. First time I'd say I've felt "down" the whole pregnancy so far. Yesterday I was absolutely exhausted, emotional, my nipples were crazy sensitive and I was having cramps. Thankfully the physical things seem to have eased a little today but I still feel very "meh". Have no desire or drive to do anything, feel very hard done by that the OH now has the pub, and golf, and football training to go to, while I'm just stuck in the house on my own all day every day! Not his fault of course, just feeling sorry for myself clearly. Keep telling myself it's just hormones and hoping this passes soon! 🤞🏼

Kirky658 · 14/04/2021 10:38

@sp2bx definitely been there, done that, and got a membership. I felt awful and so down last week. Feeling more positive now the sun is shining. DH and I walked the dog last night and our local pub was quiet so I had a non alcoholic beer and loved it! I think it is just so overwhelming sometimes isn't it knowing we can't really go out etc due to not being able to have the vaccine. We live close to the peak district so DH wants to take me out for the day on Saturday, change of scenery. I really want to go but don't know if I can be bothered! We've also planned an at home date night which I am actually excited for on Saturday, cooking 3 courses x

SP2Bx · 14/04/2021 11:18

Thanks @Kirky658 ❤️ I know it will pass. Sounds like you have some lovely things to look forward to, think I'll look to get a couple of days out planned too. We're also quite close to the peaks and have said we'll go exploring once the weather warms up a bit! ☀️

KHR1 · 14/04/2021 11:50

@SP2Bx I went for these. Tbh I'm happy with them for days at home because they are so comfy but there's a bit too much movement in them for work Blush I'm a 40G so struggled to find any that weren't really expensive, asda have a few but they were all out of stock
It's hard been stuck within the same 4 walls, especially when other people are out and about. I don't feel comfortable going out at the moment but then don't like being stuck in either.

@SP2Bx I know what you mean about feeling hard done by, my husband has started playing golf again and having beers in the sun and has a golf weekend planned in July too which is great but like you, i have zero motivation to do anything at ALL. My friend is coming over to sit in the garden on Saturday which will be lovely and I've got my nails and hair appointments over the coming weeks so hopefully that will help. We have a little babymoon booked for June too so looking forward to that. Sometimes its hard to get out of the funk, Don't beat yourself up for feeling low love xx

RadDarwazeh · 14/04/2021 14:51

@unicornpower tell us more about the babymoon, what have you planned 🙂

SP2Bx · 14/04/2021 15:13

Thanks @unicornpower ! Babymoon sounds delightful, I'm trying to sort something for us too but dear we've left finding somewhere too late!!!
I've arranged to go for pizza and drinks with the girls in a couple of weeks at this pub with a lovely little outdoor log cabin and honestly just making the plan has made me feel 10x better already, so thanks for the inspiration everyone :)

@KHR1 ah yes those are the ones! Tbf I don't leave the house much, that's probably why I find them ok! 😂

Kirky658 · 14/04/2021 15:48

@unicornpower we've kinda booked a little babymoon too! We have booked 2 nights beginning of June at the venue where we got married in their top suite, parents having the dog for us for the 2 nights and we've got dinner included so I'm so excited for a chance to dress up and relax! So many lovely walks round the hotel to do too as it's on the edge of the peak district ❤️

unicornpower · 14/04/2021 15:54

@RadDarwazeh ooo we have booked a little lodge on the Norfolk coast, its right by the sea and we are taking the doggies too so it should be lovely! I wanted to do it before I got too big to enjoy the walks etc- have you got anything planned?

@Kirky658 that sounds amazing! You can have a full relax and be spoiled for a couple of days 😍 we are going to book a spa weekend too I think at some point but currently shopping around for deals- it's nice to plan things isnt it, makes you feel like life is going back to normal!

@SP2Bx agh noooo! We only booked ours last week, going south was no good as it was all so expensive or we couldn't take the boys which I wanted to do as they love the sea, so we looked pretty much anywhere on air bnb and found a few nice places! Hopefully you find something soon! Oh your dinner with your friends sounds amazing, hopefully it's just what you need! I do think lockdown has got us all out of the habit of socialising so maybe once we kick-start it it'll be okay xx

RadDarwazeh · 14/04/2021 16:07

These babymoons sound just wonderful! I'm hoping to book a spa stay, just need to check if the places do things like pregnancy massage for a real pamper. I'm aware the hot tubs/steam room/saunas are off limits but if it has a nice pool I can feel weightless in that's a winner for me! Would love to go abroad but I just don't want to risk it. Will plan a holiday with the new bubba next year I think 🙂

Having things like meals out really help motivate, right? So I'm going to try to book some places when dining in is allowed again

crobo87 · 14/04/2021 17:21

I've had my gender scan today.

Another boy to add to the September babies 💙

Mamabearwhere · 14/04/2021 17:28

Does anyone know if we can colour/highlight hair while pregnant ? I didn’t use to colour my hair with previous pregnancies so not sure what’s the deal but have got a lot of greys the last year and want to colour it now salons are open. So many mixed results from google.

Mamabearwhere · 14/04/2021 17:29

@crobo87 congratulations!! 💙

AdventuresAwait · 14/04/2021 17:39

Congratulations on finding out about your boy @crobo87! Xx

AdventuresAwait · 14/04/2021 17:42

@Mamabearwhere, I have (after 12 weeks). NHS guidance said it was OK. Things I read recommended without ammonia which mine is. This is the info I found when looking into it xx

www.nhs.uk/common-health-questions/pregnancy/is-it-safe-to-use-hair-dye-when-i-am-pregnant-or-breastfeeding/

SproutingSprout2021 · 14/04/2021 17:44

@Mamabearwhere everything I have read seems to say colouring is ok. I contacted my salon too who assured me it would be safe - I’ve been going there quite a while and I feel they are trustworthy. I kept changing my mind about getting mine done but think I’m going to go for it to feel a bit more normal! X

KHR1 · 14/04/2021 18:29

Congrats @crobo87

@Mamabearwhere think the NHS website says it is okay, I've done mine before in pregnancy but open a window for ventilation

bewitchingnight · 14/04/2021 18:41

Congrats @crobo87 💙

We've got a week booked off work in June - common babymoon theme, but haven't actually booked anything yet. I'd love a change of scenery for a couple of days!

It's a bit strange at the moment, it feels like everyone is getting their life back and I feel a bit at odds with it all.

SP2Bx · 14/04/2021 18:41

@mamabearwhere I've been advised as long as it doesn't touch your scalp you're ok, so no home dyes etc. That's because our skin can react differently and then we can take anything for it so patch tests are important too even if you've always been fine before! I'm usually a full head of highlights kind of girl but embracing the balayage this time in preparation for mum life 😂

CherylLW · 14/04/2021 19:06

Congratulations @crobo87 💙

I’m 20 weeks Friday and have my scan! Nervous!!!
I’ve started buying a few things... mainly just clothes and am going to wait a little longer for the bigger bits.
For someone who is a first time mum and has zero baby clothes how many sleep suits would you recommend for 0-1 month? Do people both with many first size sleep suits? It’s confusing with 0-1 and 0-3 🤯

CherylLW · 14/04/2021 19:07

I also dyed my hair at home with a box dye as it’s all I’ve ever done and all was fine. Just waiting until after 12 weeks as I was recommended 😊

Poppysmile · 14/04/2021 21:07

Hey guys I’m a hairdresser and you can colour your hair you just need a patch test because your hormones can make your skin abit more sensitive, I doubled checked this with midwife also! I was worried about fake tan to but it’s the same with that just do a little patch test xxx

Poppins2016 · 14/04/2021 21:24

@Kirky658 if you're partial to an alcohol free beer, I can recommend Infinite Session alcohol free IPA. I find lots of alcohol free stuff too hoppy (e.g. Brewdog Nanny State) but Infinite Session is very balanced and moreish.

On a non-beer theme, Nosecco is rather nice (not really comparable to prosecco... I'd say it's a richer, dryer and more drinkable version of Schloer).
