Had a day off the forum yesterday for my Mum's 60th and so much to catch up on!

@Kirky658 I haven't had this breath test thing either yet, I'm glad you asked cause I was wondering this myself! It hasn't even been mentioned. Gorgeous nursery by the way!!!

@Taybz My EDD is 22nd Sept and I'm going to start maternity leave then, but plan to use holiday from 27th Aug (as they 'encourage' us to use it beforehand) so that I have 3 weeks to chill/nest ahead of baby's arrival! 25 weeks seems way WAY too early, unless like someone I saw on here where your employer wants you to finish then and will pay you until mat leave starts!!! (Which would be the DREAM!)

Congrats on all the gender scans!!! ❤️

Everything's a bit boring for me at the minute, don't think I'm feeling any movement and my 20 wk scan isn't for another 3.5 weeks 🙄😴 Pregnancy is LONG! 🙈

Mamabearwhere · 11/04/2021 20:46

Ladies at what point are you meant to be concerned around shortness of breath? I feel quite out of breath and even when just sitting/laying on side I feel like my chest is tight. I don’t remember having anything like this in previous pregnancies. My midwife on Friday didn’t seem concerned but she was quite dismissive with everything anyway

Kirky658 · 11/04/2021 20:47

@jay3004 congrats!
@sp2bx great minds think alike 😘

I know I'm resurrecting an old convo here but NCT antenatal classes. £205 for a course here. Can anyone recommend these or would you say the NHS ones are worthwhile? I am considering it mostly so DH and I can meet some other local parents tbh and can learn useful things at the same time x

FTEngineerM · 11/04/2021 20:50

@Noodles4Me that’s so exciting you’ll know the exact date and time, it must make it a little more relaxing.

@Jay3004 woohoo, congratulations on finding out 🥳🥳

@CherylLW I’m a 36GG and have a Freya nursing bra from next, it is underwired but it’s the lost comfortable bra I’ve ever owned. I even wear it now I’m not feeding anymore too.

@Mamabearwhere are you showing quite a bit now? I don’t get too out of breath at the minute, it’s definitely different but not like you describeSad.

CherylLW · 11/04/2021 20:53

@FTEngineerM thanks for that one, I’ll have a look, I’ve had Freya bras before and always comfy!

@RadDarwazeh I’ve not heard of Cake before... I’ll get on google now! 👍🏼

AdventuresAwait · 11/04/2021 20:58

@SP2Bx, I know what you mean. I don't think I'm feeling movements either (I keep wondering but really not sure) and have my scan in 3 weeks (I'll be 21 weeks). Feels like a long wait!

Mamabearwhere · 11/04/2021 20:59

@FTEngineerM not low but bump is absolutely huge for 17 weeks. I don’t know if maybe that’s why I feel quite uncomfortable. With my girls I had small bumps until around 7/ 8 months

Mamabearwhere · 11/04/2021 21:00

@FTEngineerM sorry I misread your question, though you asked if I was carrying low. Baby brain. But yes to answer your question I am showing!!

FTEngineerM · 11/04/2021 21:02

@Mamabearwhere Ah I wonder if because you’ve had two previous pregnancies it shifts up and out a bit earlier? Since your body knows what to do.

KHR1 · 11/04/2021 21:07

@Kirky658 I've not tried the NCT classes so can't comment on those, but I went the NHS ones and thought they were good - they covered quite a lot over 5-6 sessions. The best thing I got out of it was meeting other local parents, some of whom I'm still in touch with now which is lovely.
@Mamabearwhere I feel quite short of breath easily (stairs are terrible!) but not when I'm sat or laid down. Maybe you are getting to the point where things are getting a bit more squashed now

SP2Bx · 11/04/2021 21:14

@Mamabearwhere I got really out of breath today just telling a long story to my sister! 😂 It was very noticeable and I thought it was a bit strange so will keep an eye on it! I'm an FTM but my bump is really prominent now so maybe?

Kirky658 · 11/04/2021 21:18

@mamabearwhere I've noticed my heart rate rising and I get out of breath a lot more now. I ran 5 miles this morning and felt normal, we walked the dog an easy walk this afternoon and my heart rate increased to 140bpm and I was gasping up a hill which is not normal for me!

unicornpower · 12/04/2021 07:59

@Mamabearwhere I am getting the same, sometimes it's just walking upstairs or a slow stroll with the dog! I have to walk like I'm 90, otherwise I get so breathless. I'll mention it to my midwife tomorrow and see if she's helpful (I've not met her yet but she seems helpful)

I dont really feel pregnant either, im getting rounder but worried I'm not growing 😕 I'm hoping I get to hear the heartbeat tomorrow to relax me a bit! Hope everyone is okay- I'm juat counting down to my 20 week scan which feels ages away

Bubbles1st · 12/04/2021 08:21

I finally have my 16 week appointment today at 18+3, I would love to hear the heart beat too but pleased me expectations have been managed by those of you not experiencing it at yours.I feel rubbish again this morning, like my actual stomach is concrete again. I felt fine at bed time, only had soup and sandwich for tea. Not constipated no heart burn.

I'm hoping midwife will have a feel, as it's the second time now I wonder if it's a growth spurt and everything moving upwards.

Very uncomfortable though and a dull ache.

SP2Bx · 12/04/2021 08:30

Every smell is knocking me sick this morning! I wouldn't really say I've had a heightened sense of smell so far since being pregnant, but this morning at 16+5 I've woken up and gagged at 3 different smells already which I've dealt with everyday for the past 16 weeks with nothing! Madness 🤢

Hopefulmummie · 12/04/2021 08:47

We're having a little girl 💕 still can't believe it I was convinced it was a boy x

Kirky658 · 12/04/2021 08:51

@bubbles1st I've been feeling like that too, sooooo hungry constantly but I hardly eat anything and then I can barely move my stomach feels so heavy!
@hopefulmummie awwww congrats ❤️

Back to work for me today after 10days off, whyyyyyy yay

CobleCloud · 12/04/2021 09:00

@Hopefulmummie congratulations- I love the reveal picture. 💕

I've hit 18 weeks today.. 2 weeks exactly until my 20 week scan and we have decided we are going to find out if we are having a boy or girl! 😬 been quiet in here but watching away as I'm been struggling with sleep and really vivid dreams again the last few weeks. Starting with anxiety for my scan too.. between 12 weeks and now has felt the longest wait ever and we decided not to have a private scan in between.. wishing we had now!! Hope everyone is well! X

AdventuresAwait · 12/04/2021 09:09

@Hopefulmummie.. yay! I don't know why but my guess for you was a girl! What a great photo of your reveal xx

Mamabearwhere · 12/04/2021 09:33

@Hopefulmummie aw congratulations 💖 such a cute reveal photo too!

@CobleCloud I’m with you on the vivid dreams, I still get them EVERY night and they can be so disturbing/sad. I usually (pre pregnancy) would read dream interpretations online when I had an odd dream but I’ve since stopped because nothing makes sense and sometimes google doesn’t even have interpretations for my weird and crazy dreams.

FTEngineerM · 12/04/2021 09:34

Congratulations @Hopefulmummie Easter Grin

Kirky658 · 12/04/2021 09:55

@coblecloud same here with the weird dreams, really disrupting my sleep now and driving me crazy!

SP2Bx · 12/04/2021 10:02

Yay @Hopefulmummie !!! That's such a lovely photo! 💕

Here come the girls now!!!

Bubbles1st · 12/04/2021 10:06

Congratulations @Hopefulmummie lovey news!

@Kirky658 are you short in the body by any chance? I've just had my midwife appointment and she said what I'm feeling is exactly what is happening, the uterus pushing everything up. She said I'm short in the body so will feel it sooner and more.

She also let me listen to the heart beat ❤️ so happy about that.

She also said that the twitches I have felt is most likely baby boy moving.

So it might have been 2 weeks over due but I felt like it was a lovely appointment and now only two weeks until 20 week scan!

Scotti84 · 12/04/2021 10:19

Congrats @Hopefulmummie that's that's lovely reveal photo too!

Anyone else finding it strange not knowing if what you're feeling in the stomach is baby or wind or something else? I read that they move mostly at night but I'm never sure the next day if something actually moved or if I dreamt it. I think I felt three kicks last night, not enough to feel it from outside but there was something on the inside if that makes sense.

I finally found a midwife too, she will be giving me a call today so all my worries about breastfeeding and support after the birth are finally alleviated. (I have to find one myself here, I see a Dr at every appointment, he does the scans etc but midwifes are left for us individually to arrange)
