@Sillysocks998 it’s pretty crazy isn’t it?! Like you said I’m terrified of what’s to come if this is me at 16 weeks. A small part of me is hoping that I will get used to it and get some magical energy in a few weeks and be fine (LOL!) but probably that’s wishful thinking.
Yes speaking of aircon I’ve just had someone come give me quote for having aircon fitted in our bedroom as it gets roasting in the summer in there.

Also if anyone has nice maternity pyjama recommendations that aren’t granny like please let me know.

Poppins2016 · 02/04/2021 22:13

@Mamabearwhere check out Gap for maternity pyjamas. I recently bought their sleep cami and sleep pants they are super soft and soooo comfortable!

...I tend to wait for Gap to advertise offers before I buy... there seems to be a regular cycle of '40% off' full price items!

I’m also feeling really big and uncomfortable already too, just can’t imagine what I’ll feel like by the end!

FTEngineerM · 03/04/2021 06:41

@AdventuresAwait how was the scan yesterday?

AdventuresAwait · 03/04/2021 07:51

Thank you @mumof23188 and @FTEngineerM!

Scan was amazing! Saw so much detail & the sonographer explained everything. Said baby looks perfect and 100% a....

Baby girl 💖

So delighted! We would have been thrilled with either but were hopeful for a girl. We felt it was a girl & nubtech said 95% girl. Though it is my first baby, my husband already has children and they wanted a girl plus we really wanted to use our girl name (and this is probably our only baby together). Very happy!

But the main thing was seeing her again & seeing so much detail. When she said all looked good, I cried.

We couldn't resist a heartbeat bear & I just love listening to her heartbeat. They also give a 3D preview which was so cute & I imagine we'll go back once more between the 20 week scan and birth for a 3D scan if husband agrees 🤣

Just loved seeing her & now can't wait to feel the movements xx

AdventuresAwait · 03/04/2021 08:02

@Poppins2016, I just ordered a sleep cami from Gap! Looks lovely. I've been looking for something soft and comfy to sleep in so thanks for the suggestion xx

FTEngineerM · 03/04/2021 08:03

Awwww thanks so exciting congratulations @AdventuresAwait !! They change so fast don’t they. You can listen whenever now, they’re such a good idea and those Doppler thingys.

I’m excited for ours today, can’t stop thinking about it. I’ve felt them wriggling when I got up so I’m not so anxious anymore.

AdventuresAwait · 03/04/2021 08:18

That's great @FTEngineerM! Can't wait to feel movement. They said I have an anterior placenta but it's not low or covering the cervix. So not a problem but may not feel anything just yet.

Tempted to get a doppler but trying to wait as, if I feel movement soon, I won't feel I need one. But it depends how long I can wait 🤣
But the scan really reassured me. Saw baby waving her arms & stretching her legs ☺

Exciting that you have your scan today! 🥳 Is it morning or afternoon? Xx

Bubbles1st · 03/04/2021 08:22

Aw congratulations @AdventuresAwait !!

I am feeling big, my tummy is quite uncomfortable and I can't really lean forward as it's as if I'm squashing everything. Rolling over in bed is already a challenge and this is when I have most of my ligament pain.

Sceptre86 · 03/04/2021 08:26

@AdventuresAwait so happy for you! I was waiting on your post! Its amazing seeing them isn't it? Have you told baby's older siblings yet?

@FTEngineerM hope your scan goes well today!

AdventuresAwait · 03/04/2021 08:37

Thank you @Bubbles1st!

Thank you @Sceptre86! Sorry for not posting yesterday, it was so busy. My husband's children came so it was their first time seeing the new house and settling in, which was lovely.
We are telling them today! We have a gender reveal cake so when we cut into it, it will be pink inside. We had it made and it looks great.
We are doing it with the children and on Zoom with our parents and siblings. So excited!!

Mamabearwhere · 03/04/2021 08:53

@AdventuresAwait aw that’s lovely congratulations!!

@Poppins2016 thank you! I just ordered some sleep shorts, bottoms and cami from gap! They look so comfortable!

SP2Bx · 03/04/2021 09:01

Aw @AdventuresAwait what an exciting day for you, and congratulations on a baby girl! We were well overdue one in this group lol 💖

I've also ordered some of those PJs @Poppins2016 🙈 Gap are going to wonder what's going on!

FTEngineerM · 03/04/2021 09:09

This morning @AdventuresAwait not long now. Love the idea of the gender reveal cake for the family, how cute you got a wave.

Thanks @Sceptre86

Saw this today on the app, I can’t remember who was starting to talk to their baby but 17 weeks they can hear you. Exciting.

mumof23188 · 03/04/2021 09:24

@AdventuresAwait wow congratulations 💗. That’s so lovely about the cake. They will love it. We did a cannon for my DD, she loved it. Confetti everywhere 🤣.

@FTEngineerM enjoy your scan ☺️

AdventuresAwait · 03/04/2021 09:42

Thank you@Mamabearwhere!
Thanks@SP2Bx! Yes, I think this the second
girl on here?
Thanks@FTEngineerM! I asked about talking to baby so thanks for the info! Need to start remembering to do it. I think I'll find it easier now I can call her by name.
Thank you @mumof23188! That sounds lovely x

Bubbles1st · 03/04/2021 09:50

Oh we have a gap outlet near us so will have a nosey when they reopen. As a bigger lady I've usually struggled with their sizing so best I go in for a look I think. Got a few oversized nighties/vests to keep me going.

deedeebythesea · 03/04/2021 10:06

@Taybz DH could not stop laughing as I was jumping up and down with my belly hanging out of pulled down mat jeans Grin

@CherylLW I do too! Started buying fruit of the week around week 4. Something fun to do and take my mind off all the worrying. This is how I rediscovered my love for pomegranates!

@SP2Bx Me neither - I was blown away by all those movements. Somehow I did not expect babies to move so much until you can actually feel the kicks. Silly I know!

@Poppins2016 DH is desperate to feel the kicks and keeps asking me if I have felt anything every day. Can't wait to be able to finally reassure him (and myself!) and all is well! 20w scan is on the 14th April and I am doing everything in my power to stay sane, not google anything, and keep dark thoughts at bay

deedeebythesea · 03/04/2021 10:23

Talking about uncomfortable... I reckon I have not had a full hour of sleep without waking up and having to change position since about 15w (19w tomorrow). My hips hurt SO MUCH. I try and sleep on my left side as is recommended but cannot stay on my left for long. Hip pain wakes me up and I have to turn to my right. 30-40 minutes later and it happens again. In the last couple of day sharp pain in the ribcage was added to the mix. Normally, I am very tolerant of pain and discomfort (in general, not just pregnancy related), but I am absolutely exhausted Sad

@AdventuresAwait huge congratulations!

Squibble84 · 03/04/2021 10:23

@AdventuresAwait congratulations on the baby girl! Must have been lovely seeing baby again!

I bought post surgery pyjamas from Asda George last time and they were super comfy, not specifically maternity pyjamas but they were great for post birth especially with the csection.

Squibble84 · 03/04/2021 10:25

@deedeebythesea Im still sleeping on my back as it’s the only position I can get comfy in, I just have extra pillows to elevate me, it’s fine as long as you’re not flat on your back.

AdventuresAwait · 03/04/2021 10:27

Thank you @deedeebythesea & @Squibble84! Xx

Jay3004 · 03/04/2021 10:31

Congratulations @AdventuresAwait, how lovely 💗

Taybz · 03/04/2021 10:38

Congratulations @AdventuresAwait! One of the only girls on this thread! How exciting 🥰 Did you go to Window to the Womb? If so, was the scan longer this time?

Taybz · 03/04/2021 10:40

@Squibble84 is it not ok to sleep flat on your back? This and side sleeping is the most comfortable for me at the moment. Sorry to sound daft but where do you put the extra pillows, just lower back or a pillow for your whole back?
