Hope your appointment went OK @RustyCat.
I have my 28wk scan and appointment tomorrow. Had GTT last week, no result as yet! Assuming they might have rung if anything was wrong but I guess I’ll find out tomorrow

RustyCat · 24/02/2021 09:00

@mouldygrapes good luck with your results on the gtt test and for your appointments!

Eh could have gone better, consultant wants to get me scanned in 2 weeks and go back to her, she's not happy with little ladies growth so wants to monitor her over 2 weeks instead of 4 xx

mouldygrapes · 24/02/2021 20:57

Thanks, GTT was thankfully normal and not much to report from cons appt. Baby seems to be growing well and along the 50th centile.

Sorry you have to go back sooner but I guess better to be safe! Little lady might have a sudden growth spurt 🤞🏼

RustyCat · 25/02/2021 10:04

@mouldygrapes oh that's great news! So glad to hear that.

I have my midwife appointment today and I'm going to find out if I've failed the gtt test or not too 🤣. Hopefully I haven't!

Yeah its sucky having to go back but hopefully it's just caution and she has more of a growth spurt. She has been measuring smaller than him since 20 weeks but no one seemed concerned at the 20wk or 24wk scan just my 28wk one they had a wobble.

Serz88 · 01/03/2021 20:13

@CLeighannHxo your story is so similar to mine! I'm 26 and due on the 17th May. We were supposed to get married on the 8th August but had to postpone until the 28th August this year so tight turn around for the dress too 🙈 starting to look hopeful that weddings will go ahead by then but not getting my hopes up just yet.
Where abouts are you from?

CLeighannHxo · 02/03/2021 10:44

@Serz88 aww its horrible int it, we had arranged it to be for the 28th of August 2021 but then when we finally got hold of our venue (due to being closed because of covid) they were booked up for that day so had to rearrange it all again for the 21st 🙈 if all goes to BoJos plan it is very promising but I really can't see it going so smoothly like that, I'm really in limbo about what to think/do as this time last year I was making all the invitations then was planning on making the favours... with all the uncertainty I haven't wanted to start them all again yet 🙈 I'm from Lincolnshire, what about you?

hereforallthehelp · 19/03/2021 19:41

Just thought I’d let you all know the positive birth company have a sale on their hypnobirthing pack until midnight - it’s £12 normally £39! I’ve been recommended it by quite a few people and for that price deffo worth buying! Xx

lucymagoo · 22/03/2021 13:01

@hereforallthehelp I bought it full price a few months ago but have definitely found it helpful if anyone wanted to buy it!

How is everyone feeling? It's been quiet in here. I'm starting to get the 3rd trimester tiredness/struggling to get comfy at night

OP posts:
mouldygrapes · 22/03/2021 22:36

Definitely getting more tired in 3rd trimester! Also low tolerance for work and putting up with people’s crap! Still 6 weeks before maternity leave.
I got the hypnobirthing thing too but haven’t started it, glad you’ve found it helpful

hereforallthehelp · 23/03/2021 21:12

Really struggling with acid reflux - making me so sick - anyone else? I’m going to the doctors tomorrow to see if anything can be done about it.

With you on the tiredness and uncomfortableness - also getting itchy! I’m a real joy to be around at the moment 😂

Also finding it weird that I’m feeling arms / legs poking out now - that didn’t happen 2 weeks ago! 😳🥴

mouldygrapes · 23/03/2021 21:31

@hereforallthehelp have you mentioned itchiness to you midwife? It might just be pregnancy/stretching skin but I had a lot of itching last week. I had to have blood tests to exclude obstetric cholestasis, itching can be a sign of this, as can anaemia.
My bloods were fine for cholestasis but did show anaemia

lucymagoo · 23/03/2021 23:36

I second getting the itching checked out, heard it can be a sign of something more. I haven't had any personally. @hereforallthehelp

I get acid reflux anyway so have been on a prescription for omeprazole for a few years, been taking it every day religiously for my whole pregnancy and haven't had a single issue with reflux so far. I think it's working wonders!

switchandswatch · 23/03/2021 23:56

Hello! Latecomer to the board. I’m due 12 May, this is my second baby. Have found this pregnancy much tougher than the first, not sure if that’s just being pregnant with a toddler / lockdown pregnancy / body given up or all of the above!

Can highly recommend positive birthing company pack - I used it with my first and had a wonderful labour - really!

Also @hereforallthehelp I second recommendation for omeprazole, you can get it over the counter if you can’t get to gp.

It’s been really nice to read all of you ftm’s excitement about getting ready for baby, as a jaded stm I’m lacking in excitement and more concerned about impending sleep deprivation 😂, but am happy to give any advice if it helps, I’m no expert, but I know it can feel overwhelming, and even harder when normal support structures not in place.

My one piece of advice to dive in with is anyone who’s planning on trying breastfeeding, try and do some research ahead of birth. Kellymom website is good, and there are some good online courses. I was woefully underprepared. For something that is meant to be natural, it can be bloody hard!
Also, spritz for bits. Buy it!

Catherinettc · 24/03/2021 02:15

Hey ladies I was on the thread at the beginning but somehow lost u all 🤦‍♀️

Currently 32 weeks and due 19th May with a little boy 💙

So sore and uncomfortable and not sleeping at all. Think I have pregnancy insomnia 🤦‍♀️

How is everyone coping? Xx

PFin · 24/03/2021 04:24

Another latecomer to the board! I have kept an eye out for May thread, cant believe I never came across this one.

Due my 2nd, May 15th with a little girl.

@Catherinettc I can join the insomnia club half 4 and im browsing netmums lol!

This is my 2nd, excited but also dreading the sleep deprivation and all the not so fun stuff that i know comes along with a newborn.

lucymagoo · 24/03/2021 09:29

@switchandswatch good advice, I'm starting to realise breastfeeding isn't as simple as I always assumed! I have a book called The Positive Breastfeeding Book I'm working through but I think PBC have something similar also. I may buy their post-partum pack. 🙂

Hoping to EBF if possible, I also like the idea of pumping so my husband can feed the baby and I can get some rest but I realise that's not always possible!

hereforallthehelp · 24/03/2021 16:48

thanks all! Spoke to midwife today - Iron levels are up and not concerned about the itching as was just once (at the moment!)

Also spoke to Dr’s and for some Omeprazole so hoping things get better now!

Course wise we’re doing The Baby Academy one - couldn’t justify the cost of NCT with it being online and a lot of people said the information was basic but the relationships you make are deffo worth it! Xx

Catisa · 26/03/2021 03:45

Also in the club of pregnancy insomnia sufferers Confused in between the baby kicking like crazy, husband snoring and just generally uncomfortable who can sleep??? Luckily I am on holidays at the moment, so I can catch up later.
I feel like the 2nd trimester went so quickly!! Now suddenly on the third and having to really prepare for what's coming. I've got myself busy making list of what is left to buy, starting to look at the hospital bag logistics XD has anyone started? I've never thought I would need to take so many things...

Thamigumathacharaid · 26/03/2021 13:12

Hi everyone, I'm due on the 15th of May with a little boy. I'm finding things really tough at the moment but I don't really like talking about it as I know how fortunate I am to be so far along. The heartburn is dreadful and I'm taking Gaviscon and Omeprazole. I'm really tired all the time and feeling fed up. We haven't even started buying things for the baby yet and as this is my first baby, I feel overwhelmed.

lucymagoo · 26/03/2021 14:16

Yup been awake since 5am because of hip pain @Catisa 😂 such fun, at least it's training for when the baby is here.

@Thamigumathacharaid sorry to hear you're feeling overwhelmed! I'm due 17th of May with a boy, my first also so very much in the same boat. You're welcome to moan on here to us, pregnancy is hard!!

We don't have a pram or car seat yet but I do have a few outfits and have ordered a crib for him to sleep in, I've been advised to just get the very basics and if you find you need anything else to use amazon prime to get it next day Smile

Thamigumathacharaid · 26/03/2021 18:14

Thank you @lucymagoo

lucymagoo · 24/04/2021 13:22

How is everyone doing? Just want to check in as we are getting close now!

All on track here, he's in position, 2/5 engaged as of my 36 week appointment so hoping for a timely delivery Smile

Sipping raspberry leaf tea and bouncing on my ball as much as possible to keep things moving!

OP posts:
hereforallthehelp · 26/04/2021 15:46

Just checking in to see how you all are as we’re getting very close now!

How are you getting on? Xx

hereforallthehelp · 26/04/2021 15:48

Just saw your post @lucymagoo! How you doing lovely? Can’t believe it’s nearly here if I’m honest! I’m packing the hospital bag tonight and doing my birth preferences tomorrow before my appointment Wednesday!

Yet to get a ball and some raspberry leaf tea - do you recommend? Kindve scared to start anything if I’m honest 😂

lucymagoo · 26/04/2021 16:05

@hereforallthehelp I don't know if I recommend them yet, hopefully! 😂 the ball is comfy I suppose and he is pretty well engaged so maybe it's doing something

People say they hate the taste of raspberry leaf tea but it just tastes like any other green/herbal tea to me, perfectly boring but drinkable Smile

Our pram arrived today and it's got me very excited! Can't believe he will be here soon 😩
