@Finallybfp second pregnancy, I had a MMC in April last year and it took a few months to conceive again.

I am starting my maternity leave at 29 weeks, so a bit earlier than alot of people but I'm starting to struggle with work.

Finallybfp · 15/02/2021 08:56

Ah I’m sorry to hear you had a MMC . My midwife has advised me to not work from 28 weeks as I work face to face with others in a nursery . I wasn’t sure if most people’s midwifes were giving the same advise. I don’t want to start my maternity leave at 28 weeks so I’m waiting to see if my work can furlough me up until 36 weeks then I’ll start maternity then. Smile

RustyCat · 15/02/2021 09:52

Aww thank you, it happens, it was very dramatic/traumatic so I'll not go into it a sits a bit gross for other people but I have my rainbow babies coming, which is nice!

Ah my midwife hasn't recommended I take mine early but due to how i feel DH and I decided I'd start it as soon as I can 😊 plus the twins are very likely to come early so I'd rather have more time to relax and get things prepped than to risk gambling it and they come early when I'm not ready 🤣.

MooreLew · 15/02/2021 12:53

Can I join? Second baby, due the 12th May. Anyone else have an anterior placenta and not get loads of movements? I had one with my first, but this baby seems really lazy. Can have days with lots of movements, then some days barely any. It's driving me mad! Also have a really small bump this time.

CLeighannHxo · 15/02/2021 14:41

Hey Ladies! I hope you are all doing well? Can I join in on the thread, I am 25w2d... FTM.
I am currently on furlough from my job as a senior in a care home, I have been on furlough since Christmas and I'm getting very bored now... need some people to chat to even if it is over the Internet 😀 x

Analysethat · 15/02/2021 15:47

I finish up 5 weeks on Thursday and cannot wait - so glad I decided to use all my annual leave first.

lucymagoo · 15/02/2021 16:27

I got let go from my job last week, I had a 6 month probation and they cited "poor performance" due to being so unwell with the pregnancy Envy
I was actually doing very well there so go figure
Anyway, on mat leave at 27 weeks, can't complain with that 😂

OP posts:
CLeighannHxo · 15/02/2021 17:56

@lucymagoo where was this job? Had you planned to start your MAT leave at 27 weeks?

Is everyone else FTMs? What are your due dates? And what are your ages? If you don't mind me asking?

Finallybfp · 15/02/2021 18:44

I live in Northumberland and my midwife has advised me if I can’t work from home or in a room not face to face with others I should leave work . But I’m currently waiting to see how my work could support me as I’m a nursery nurse and can’t work from home .
It’s nice having new ladies joining the group . I find it reassuring talking to other pregnant women who are in the same boat as me due around about the same time . Smile

Finallybfp · 15/02/2021 19:46

@MooreLew - they thought I had a anterior placenta as I’m 25 +4 days now and still not having any movement. I’m having extra scans every two weeks just to check baby and keep me reassured but on all the scans I’ve had tap far the baby has been so active so they said babies feet are hiding behind my placenta on the left so it’s stopping me feeling stronger movements but as baby gets bigger the feeling should be stronger x

Analysethat · 15/02/2021 19:57

@CLeighannHxo

I’m FTM, due 4th May and I just turned 35 yesterday 😢 lol.

CLeighannHxo · 15/02/2021 20:10

@Analysethat aww happy birthday for yesterday! 😀
I'm due on the 29th of May and I'm 26.
I was supposed to have been getting married on the 29th of August last year but because of covid we had to postpone 😔 we have postponed it till August this year, and I still don't know what the rules will be by then! I figured we conceived around the date of when our wedding should have been! So I won't have long after baby is born to fit into my wedding dress 😂😂

MooreLew · 15/02/2021 20:19

@Finallybfp I didn't get any until after 24 weeks, it is so stressful isn't it. I'm glad you're being looked after with the extra scans etc. My midwife is useless really, I don't feel reassured in the slightest.

Finallybfp · 15/02/2021 20:37

@MooreLew I have two friends who are pregnant also one due in April and her midwife has been shocking tbh she caught Covid and her midwife didnt really want to know her appointments have all been late past when they should of been and she didn’t get offered flu jab or whooping cough injection or anything she had to ask for them after hearing I had had them. I do think it really makes a difference who your midwife is . I’m hoping I start to feel my baby soon , it’s frustrated as the scans I’ve been having it looks like the baby is moving all over the place so I feel I should be able to feel it . Smile I’m due 27th may . Turned 30 in November last year pregnant & in lockdown on my 30th lol so I will be celebrating my 30th once baby is here and Covid buggers off haha 😂 x

MooreLew · 15/02/2021 21:01

@Finallybfp that is shocking Shock. I agree, my first midwife was amazing and I didn't have to worry once. This pregnancy, all I've done is worry myself sick. I'm sure baby will change position and you will be able to feel something. Is this your first pregnancy? Oh no :( I hope you can enjoy it when you get the chance!

Finallybfp · 15/02/2021 21:28

@MooreLew - yeah this is my first preganncy. Midwifes don’t seem concerned that I’m not feeling the baby mind but I am 26 weeks on Thursday so baby could just be being lazy aswell I’ve spoke to a few people and people they know etc havent felt there baby till sometimes after 28 weeks so I’m still thinking this is normal .
I don’t know whether it’s pandemic making pregnancy women worry more aswell . I just hope we come out of tier 4 soon 🤦🏻‍♀️.

lucymagoo · 15/02/2021 21:56

@CLeighannHxo a retail head office. I had planned to go on my due date but my probation meeting was obviously before. I don't think they wanted the hassle of maternity cover and dealing with a pregnant woman and saw the chance to get rid of me to be honest. More time for me and looking after the bump now though Smile

OP posts:
Finallybfp · 15/02/2021 22:41

@lucymagoo - can they do that ? Is that not discrimination because your pregnant.

lucymagoo · 16/02/2021 09:58

@Finallybfp they have enough money to do whatever they want I think. My lawyer says it's definitely discrimination so waiting to see if they're willing to pay me off currently 😂 Will be a tribunal otherwise which I really don't want to deal with

hereforallthehelp · 22/02/2021 08:43

Can’t believe I’m in my third trimester already! Should probably make a start on all those baby books I’ve bought and hypnobirthing courses! 😂

RustyCat · 22/02/2021 20:56

Same! Third trimester today! Scary to think how fast it's gone considering the 1st trimester dragged soooo badly 🤣

Twobecomingthreeplusthedog · 22/02/2021 22:44

Hi all,

I’m due 22nd May FTM and I’m 29.

Had my 4d scan on Saturday and can’t stop looking at the pictures of my little boy’s smile!

I work from home so not taking mat leave until a week beforehand.

I’m too scared to weigh myself recently but I’ve definitely put on over a stone and feel huge, I also have horrendous stretch marks already :(

MissingCoffeeandWine · 22/02/2021 23:47

Hi All, can I join? Due 26 May but baba will be born earlier - not psychic! My little girl is a year old and I’ll be lucky to reach 37/38 weeks and ERCS by 39 due to placental stuff :)

Would love to chat to other moms.

For those worrying about movement. Last pregnancy I found Maternity so much better after 29 weeks. I had an anterior placenta, didn’t feel any movement till late 24-26 weeks and never established a pattern of movement so ended up in a good bit, and they suddenly took it seriously and were kind when monitoring in final trimester. Before then, they don’t worry as much as they say that babies are still small enough to shift and hide. But I’m sorry it’s so stressful for those worrying!

MissingCoffeeandWine · 22/02/2021 23:49

@lucymagoo that sounds horrible to have had to deal with. Hopefully you can get something out today them. Companies shouldn’t be allowed to get away with that sort of discrimination!

RustyCat · 23/02/2021 11:28

Welcome @Twobecomingthreeplusthedog and @MissingCoffeeandWine!

Just had my 28wk bloods, gtt test and scan. Got my 28wk consultant appointment this afternoon.

Little lady is currently measuring on the 10th centile and little man is a chunky 50th centile (I'm comparison too her). Hope you are all well!
