Hi
I did a post last night just don't know what to do :-(
I'm 4+5 I think. Clear blue yesterday said 1-2 weeks.
Last night had some red specks of blood then this morning pinkish and red blood. I've attached photos. Literally like my period is starting!

What do I do? I don't even know what to think!

Should I contact anyone?

Thanks xx

Hi, I didn’t want to read and run. I’ve had 3 children and have bled like that early on in each pregnancy and all have been fine, full term pregnancies 💐

pontiouspilates · 31/12/2020 06:53

Hi OP, I've been through this and understand how frightened you must be feeling. For me, I was told to just to rest and see if the bleeding stops. Sadly, mine didn't stop and resulted in miscarriage,.but that isn't always the case. Can I suggest that you call 111 and see what they say? Sending you a hug and I do really hope that your outcome is different to mineFlowers

Monkeytennis97 · 31/12/2020 06:56

Implantation bleed? I bled until 18 weeks in both pregnancies (from 6 weeks onwards). Have two grown up DCs now. Hope everything turns out well for you.

xem87 · 31/12/2020 06:57

Who should I call my GP or 111? I don't want to waste anyone's time. It's literally like my period starting 🙁

Mine was the same, accompanied by cramps. The first time it happened for me I went to hospital the second I went to EPU but that was pre Covid. Hopefully someone else will come along with more recent advice. I would phone 111 if it helps but they will probably tell you to rest up and phone back if you are losing lots of blood/feel faint or breathless.

herechickchickchickchick · 31/12/2020 07:01

I'd probably wait and call your GP and see what they say

There's not much you can do until then except rest

xem87 · 31/12/2020 07:12

@Monkeytennis97 so yours felt like period too? I don't understand I feel like I've imagined being pregnant I did so many tests all positive! Then last night the clear blue digital.

It's like my period 🙁 do you think I should call GP?

Like others have said, it could be nothing but that early on there won't be anything doctors can do so you will probably be told to wait and see what happens with the bleeding.

Oh12lookanothernamechange1234 · 31/12/2020 07:15

I’d ring your early pregnancy unit locally. The number can be found on your NHs trust website, that’s what I did with my 1st. I was then booked into the EPU for a scan, I was slightly further along though, 10 weeks, but I didn’t know that as had just found out that I was pregnant.

Monkeytennis97 · 31/12/2020 07:19

@xem87 yes the early bleeding did (up until about 14 weeks) which is the ligaments etc stretching apparently. It was like a period but never got heavier. At 11 weeks I had a big sudden painless bleed though. Both pregnancies confirmed I had a haematoma by the placenta causing the bleeding. It's horrible but it's just waiting to see. Sorry you are going through it x

happylittlechick · 31/12/2020 07:19

1-2 on clear blue at this stage is common. I'd wait and see if bleeping continues. From pictures it's not much at all. If it continues/gets worse call gp.

xem87 · 31/12/2020 07:22

Thank you all x
I'm just thinking the worse I don't know whether to call GP or just wait it out x

If you’re not in serious pain or losing lots of blood they will most likely just say stay home and rest. Then retest in a week or two. It’s a lot of horrible waiting to see and I’m sorry you’re going through this. Early bleeding can be nothing. It could be an early miscarriage though and if so they won’t intervene in any way this early. It’s a bit early for a scan, I think 8 weeks is the earliest they would do that. The main medical concern would be ectopic pregnancy but if you aren’t in huge pain that is unlikely so EPU/hospital not necessary.

MisiSam · 31/12/2020 07:26

This happened to me in May, unfortunately mine turned out to be a chemical pregnancy, I did call the gp and they were really nice, they told me to keep testing for a week and if I was still getting positives then call back, they also said that lots of women bleed in early pregnancy and everything turns out fine, so it might be absolutely nothing.
I got pregnant again in June and I'm now 24 weeks.
I hope everything turns out well for you, the gp won't think you are time wasting don't worry.

xem87 · 31/12/2020 07:29

It's so hard knowing what to do! Did your chemical feel like a period?
I just been to wipe now and it's brown! I have no clue what's going on xx

My earliest scan (vaginal) was 6 weeks 4 days. It was Christmas Eve whilst staying at my in laws house for Christmas. I remember the sonographer saying it was very early to be able to see a heartbeat (over 20 years ago now though).
DiabeticFirstBaby · 31/12/2020 07:46

I had some brown blood at 5 weeks, was so freaked out. I went to the EPU (had to be referred by GP as don't take walk ins but everywhere is different) and had an internal examination and scan. They couldn't find anything wrong and said could have been a threatened miscarriage. The staff also said it can be quite normal in the early weeks as things are bedding in. No one ever talks about this or tells you!! I then went back for a rescan 2 weeks after where they could see a heartbeat and they were happy all was ok.
Had nothing further since and now 21+6 and all looked good on 20 week scan. Hope everything goes well for you x

xem87 · 31/12/2020 07:50

Just not heavy tho only when wipe xx

theantsgomarchin · 31/12/2020 07:54

Sadly OP there's absolutely nothing a GP or early pregnancy unit can do for you as you're just too early on. A scan wouldn't show anything at this stage and one set of bloods is useless. You could call EPU and ask them to take your bloods to check your hcg levels then they can take them again in 24-48 hours to see if they've increased at the rate they should. But by that point I'm assuming if your period is on its way it'll be here by then anyway and you're just exposing yourself to unnecessary risk at the hospital by going.

Unfortunately this is one of those horrible situations where the only thing you can do it wait. Lots and lots and lots of women have bleeding early on, and go on to have perfectly healthy and normal pregnancies. The fact there's not lots of fresh blood and you're not in pain is a good sign. Fingers crossed for you!

xem87 · 31/12/2020 07:56

Could I have got fake positive pregnancy tests tho and then get period?

OP posts:
xem87 · 31/12/2020 07:57

There's tests I'm sure I didn't imagine 🙈

Hi @xem87 sorry your are going through this. I had this a few weeks ago when I should have been about 7 weeks. I called the GP as you need to get a referral from them to be able to go to the early pregnancy unit. They didn't refer me but said to wait it out for a week and then phone then back if I hadn't miscarried and I could go for a scan. But if I was in any pain or felt unwell I was to phone then straight away.
If I were you I would give them a ring just so they have it on record what you are going through and have a chat about what's happening

I wish you the best of luck. Flowers

MisiSam · 31/12/2020 07:58

Yes it felt exactly like a period.

PurBal · 31/12/2020 08:00

I had bleeding a little later than you (5 and a bit) and period like cramps from 4w-7w (they kept me up in the night they were so bad). Called GP. Went for early scan. All ok. They suspected very late implantation bleeding (I'mnot convinced). They were reluctant to scan me and was too early for a heartbeat.
