Hi!

I got my BFP a few days back (well a lot of BFPs as I'm a POAS addict) and my due date is likely to be early August 2021.

@MintGreenLife congratulations!! 🎉♥️ and ah that's nice and reassuring to hear, thank you!! Have you spoken with an antenatal clinic yet? 🥰

LunaorJack95 · 02/12/2020 09:16

@Smushty14 I think gas is going to be a staple part of our lives for the next 9 months 🙈😂

LunaorJack95 · 02/12/2020 09:17

@Applecrumble24 hello and congratulations to you and your husband! 🥰🎉

LunaorJack95 · 02/12/2020 09:19

Don't mind me with all the posting I'm sat at home with a hell of a lot of time on my hands.

OH is at work so I'm finding random things to text him about e.g leaving the Tupperware greasy and how now I'm pregnant this needs to improve 🙄😂

MintGreenLife · 02/12/2020 09:26

@LunaorJack95 I called my GP who gave me the number for the midwife team to self refer, so I've done that, but just via a voicemail message. Waiting for a referral letter in the post at the mo.

I also totally feel your pain with how slowly time seems to be going since getting a BFP. Although I did get 3+ on a CB digital this morn which perked me up :) I got 2-3 this Saturday just gone, so nice to see the next result, as well as a dye stealing FRER this morn too, going to put the tests away at the end of this week ha x

LunaorJack95 · 02/12/2020 10:29

@MintGreenLife ah yes I spoke with doctors yday and mentioned the positive test - she said the same thing and that I need to choose the hospital I plan to give birth in straight away, hadn't even considered this yet tbh! 😳

Ah that must be an amazing feeling to know you've nearly reached the four week mark 🥰 is it not normal to test up until the first scan? I've bought loads thinking this is what I should do, clearly still don't have a scooby 😂

Gonna use CB digital on Sunday when AF would be due and call docs from there. 🎉 xx

MintGreenLife · 02/12/2020 10:37

@LunaorJack95 3+ on a CB means 5+, as it's three weeks + two weeks. I'm 5+2 today. You shouldn't really test past 6 weeks because of the hook effect, I'm going to stop this weekend as I'll be 6 weeks on Monday x

LunaorJack95 · 02/12/2020 10:42

@MintGreenLife ah I see so the two weeks starts from the first day of your period is that right? Sorry for the questions haha x

Smushty14 · 02/12/2020 10:45

@Applecrumble24 Congrats!!

@LunaorJack95 Nooooooooo 🌬🤣 oh no, the worst for me is when my dp goes for a wee sitting down and he gets it under the toilet seat 🤢

Hang on what??? Need to decide hospital already??

@MintGreenLife ahh that's fab news! I really want to get a digital but then again I feel like I don't as I already know I'm pregnant so why waste the money when it could go towards bits for the baby eventually 🙈 I'm a nightmare!

Although I have just ordered a peloton bike and now I'm thinking I should cancel it.... but then it might help keep the extra weight off 🤣

MintGreenLife · 02/12/2020 10:45

@LunaorJack95 yep :) you date your pregnancy from LMP, although not so straight forward with me as I had irregular cycles after stopping the pill. If I went from LMP, I would be 7+2 now, but am actually 5+2 x

MintGreenLife · 02/12/2020 10:48

@Smushty14 haha I think just do what feels right to you :) I liked seeing the word 'pregnant', i've done 3 so far eek! It is costly though. Ohh exciting about the Peloton! I think if it's safe to cycle in pregnancy (although not sure about spin classes?!) and you're confident in using it while pregnant then why not, although I know how much they are, so think if I were feeling unsure as to whether I would actually use it in pregnancy I would probably cancel it x

Mellous · 02/12/2020 10:52

Does anyone else have absolutely no symptoms? I’m 5+3 and wouldn’t even know I was pregnant if it wasn’t for the missed period (and endless tests Grin)

MintGreenLife · 02/12/2020 11:41

@Mellous I'm 5+2 and have sore boobs, but that's it really! x

PlantMummy87 · 02/12/2020 11:52

Hi @Mellous and @MintGreenLife

I'm the same, had such limited symptoms. I'm 5+2. I've had sore boobs but no where near as sore as they would have usually been before AF, I was expecting them to be way way worse! Have had a few waves of nausea usually in the morning when the cat wakes me up but I usually fall back asleep and wake up and it's gone, feel incredibly lucky to be saying that as I know some women have such a hard time with nausea and sickness. I do have a bit of a runny nose, but not sure if that's a symptom.

I've done endless tests too as days go past and I'm like is this real!?

LunaorJack95 · 02/12/2020 13:26

@MintGreenLife ah I see! Looking forward to finding out where I'm at soon x

@Mellous can't say the same but one minute I have sore boobs/nausea and dizziness then the next minute nothing x

So day two after my BFP and so far I've eaten avocado toast (gluten free) with red onion tomatoes lemon juice etc. Then an orange, peppermint tea and homemade soup for lunch. Let's take bets on how long this is gonna last 😳😂 any foodies/cooks on here? ☺️

@Smushty14 men are gross 🤢🤣

Yeah! She was like "so you don't need to speak to your GP you can go straight to the antenatal part of the hospital you want to give birth in" as if I've thought of that ! 😳

ItsPrincesspeach · 02/12/2020 15:35

@LunaorJack95 I was also told to self refer to the maternity ward at the nearest hospital. I’m guessing it’s just because that’s where they are all based! But I have to wait until I’m 6 weeks apparently

Cornflake24 · 02/12/2020 15:50

@lunaorjack95 in my area you call the maternity booking line and they tell you what hospital is nearest to you and unless you have an issue get booked
In there, I called at 4 weeks so weird how everywhere is different, glad I didn't have to pick though haha

LunaorJack95 · 02/12/2020 16:02

@ItsPrincesspeach who knew it wouldn't be our GP's ay! Hmm, that sounds about right as I read on the NHS website the first scan is at 8 weeks! How are you feeling so far? ☺️ x

@Cornflake24 oh wow that is mad! Very different to round here (Middlesex county). I have to pick.. the NHS website does have a tool to list local hospitals with maternity wards but it's a minefield really isn't it 🤯 have you had your first scan yet? X

Mumtoalittlegirl · 02/12/2020 16:02

Sounds like everyone is getting on well. Smile

I’ll be 4 weeks tomorrow. I’m a bit concerned. I walked up the stairs earlier and felt a sharp pain, it only lasted a second. I seem to be much more achey than I remember last time. Maybe that’s just normal for a second pregnancy?

Sorry I haven’t read the full thread but when is everyone calling to get booked in with the midwife?

We are hopefully moving soon (move has stalled but hope to be in by January). Is it worth waiting till I get to my new area? I don’t know how easy it is to transfer?

ItsPrincesspeach · 02/12/2020 16:11

@LunaorJack95 I’m very up and down I keep getting nausea if I don’t nibble on something often! I go back to work tomorrow and not sure how that’s going to go as I’m on my feet all day! Nice 10 hour shift to welcome me back!

@Mumtoalittlegirl I had the same sharp pain about a week ago. I think it’s sort of an implantation pain (well that’s what I put it down to anyway)

Cornflake24 · 02/12/2020 16:13

@LunaorJack95 very different here haha, first scan is 12 week im only 5 just now so not booked in until Jan, got my booking appointment in Dec but will be telephone.

Id be clueless if they asked me haha

Mumtoalittlegirl · 02/12/2020 16:20

@ItsPrincesspeach that would make sense. I’m sure I had the same thing first time around but I seem to have completely forgot everything and it’s like I’m doing it all again for the first time. Smile

I told myself I’d be a bit more relaxed and not track every little thing. But I’ve just downloaded the pregnancy + ap to see week by week. I know it’s too soon and anything could happen but I’m so excited.

Is everyone keeping news to themselves until the 12 weeks or telling close friends/ family a bit earlier?

Xx

ItsPrincesspeach · 02/12/2020 16:32

Were waiting to tell people this time round as my first time I had a real bad bleed. We thought that it was a miscarriage but thankfully wasn’t!
I’ve told one friend though as I’ve been doing couch to 5k with her and thought she’d better know just in case I need to stop and rest. Not sure if I should really carry on tbh

LunaorJack95 · 02/12/2020 16:54

@ItsPrincesspeach oh god you poor thing, can't even imagine. Best of luck 😫 x

@Cornflake24 oooh so the first scan is at 12 weeks or have they chosen that for you? So much conflicting information everywhere its too much! You and me both lol, at least we can say it's baby brains now ha x
