Hi!

I got my BFP a few days back (well a lot of BFPs as I'm a POAS addict) and my due date is likely to be early August 2021.

Any other ladies out there with similar exciting news in need of chat and support in these strange times please jump on board!

@olderthanyouthink and @BertieBotts I'm still BFing too-she's 3 in March but still very much a booby monster and my nipples are definitely feeling it! It's mainly when she first latches and then seems to ease off. I would love to tandem feed. We bed share too and would love to add new bubba into the family bed lol. She does have her own room but it's essentially her dressing room at the moment 😂😂

I'm 6w 1d, thought I was 6w 4d by periods but had an early scan today and saw a baby with a heartbeat and all looks good so feeling mega relieved for now. Have posted a pic of the scan on the FB page.

olderthanyouthink · 11/12/2020 12:33

@Clairey844 our bed isn't big enough for 4😅 (furnished rental so can't really change it)

I have heartburn today, yay! And am freaking out about maybe having a blood test.

Clairey844 · 11/12/2020 19:03

@olderthanyouthink we've got a superking; fine for 3-hopefully ok for 4 😂😂

surreymum89 · 11/12/2020 19:32

@BertieBotts my two (but DD) are the exact same age as your two and same bedroom set up , although youngest still bed shares and breastfeeds all night , but I'm feeling a bit bad about potentially shifting eldest into smallest room to make space for another younger sibling, how do you think your eldest will take it? Grin

BertieBotts · 11/12/2020 21:45

Oh that's cool :) he knows it's a possibility as we've mentioned it before that if we have two little ones we'd swap the rooms. We are also hoping to sweeten the deal with a high sleeper bed and a console upgrade. He currently has a ps3 in his room but DH is getting the new PS5 as a work gift for Christmas so we will upgrade him to the PS4, but only when we move the room I think. He'll also be allowed to choose whether he wants to repaint the walls. At the moment one wall is painted dark gray with glitter in and glow in the dark planets and stars which is pretty cool, so he might keep that.

Hi all,
Tentatively joining after getting a feint BFP this morning. Due approx 24th Aug.
This will be my 3rd pregnancy, DS is 2 and my last pregnancy didn't end well earlier this year.
Keeping everything crossed for happy healthy pregnancies & babies for you all.
xx

Just catching up on earlier posts.

@olderthanyouthink, shouldn't be a problem. Just copied this from google:
"However, if you start a job when pregnant, you’ll find you are not eligible for Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP) – to qualify you need to satisfy the ‘continuous employment’ rule.
This means you have to have been employed for a continuous period of at least 26 weeks before the qualifying week, which is the 15th week before your baby is due to be born.

If you don’t qualify for SMP, you may get Maternity Allowance instead."
Check out pregnantthenscrewed.com/ if you encounter any issues from them.

Good luck with your new job x

Any tips for feeling sick I have not had this b4 in previous pregnancies and its horrible ☹ it comes on and off all day and its putting me off my food

olderthanyouthink · 13/12/2020 18:40

Thanks @Kiki275 that's what I'd assumed, they don't do enhanced mat pay anyway so I just miss out in the 90% bit which brings forward when I have to rely on savings for stuff like keeping DD in nursery

@BertieBotts & @Clairey844 I was in IKEA yesterday and DD was enjoying trying out all the beds and I'm like yessss like the little beds, sleeeeep in the little beds Grin

olderthanyouthink · 13/12/2020 18:42

@FeelingBlessedx last time werthers originals helped, I think it was a blood sugar thing so any sugary sweets would be probably worked

BertieBotts · 13/12/2020 22:49

I'm on an absolutely losing train to sleep with DS2. I keep trying to explain to him that everyone else lies down in bed, snuggles into their covers and pillow and goes to sleep, they don't all have mimi (what he calls breastfeeding), and maybe he would like to try it? He is willing to lie down and let me cover him with a blanket but then he has to pretend that his legs are a car park barrier and announces "Door gate up! Tssccch" and the blanket falls off and then he complains for me to put it on him again. At which point I lose the will to live. I spent ages tonight trying to suggest that maybe his arms could be the door gate instead? But no luck. He doesn't understand the concept of lying in bed Hmm

Oh well. We have another six months or so to get there. (First timers, you have all this to come :o)

Wave to Alittlexmasmagic :)

Applecrumble24 · 14/12/2020 13:56

6 weeks tomorrow and I've got a bump already! Anyone else? 😂🤰

ItsPrincesspeach · 14/12/2020 14:50

@Applecrumble24 well I can not do my jeans up today so I guess so Grin done the old hairband trick to do them up haha need to maybe order some maternity ones but I don’t want to jinx anything as it feels too soon!

Applecrumble24 · 14/12/2020 15:15

@ItsPrincesspeach
Haha, I can still get my jeans up.. just!

I know what you mean about it being too early for buying maternity though. These weeks are going so slow, it's hard to just relax and enjoy being pregnant.

Sleeeeeepy · 14/12/2020 15:44

@Applecrumble24 I've been in the next size up for a few weeks, I've got the next size up again ready to go. I've kept them from previous times and wear them on the way up and way down so worth the investment (they are pretty stretchy 😊)

@Sleeeeeepy
Wow, that's very organised 👍😁

Sleeeeeepy · 14/12/2020 16:51

@Applecrumble24 I've got two kids already so am used to my weigh yoyoing!

M&S jeggings £15 in loads of colours - absolute game changer! Perfect for the time before mat.wear and after birth. Especially after a c-section where you need something comfy & high waisted but smarter than leggings.x

Applecrumble24 · 14/12/2020 17:03

@Kiki275 ooh thanks, I'll have a look. Do you just buy the next size up?

Kiki275 · 14/12/2020 17:57

They are quite roomy but a size up won't hurt x

ItsPrincesspeach · 14/12/2020 17:57

@Kiki275 ooh thanks for the recommendation! I’m going to have a little look tonight!

Applecrumble24 · 14/12/2020 18:43

@Kiki275 I wonder if I go up a size though, if the lens would then be too baggy? What is the leg fit like?

Applecrumble24 · 14/12/2020 18:44

Leg not lens

Kiki275 · 14/12/2020 18:53

@Applecrumble24 I'm on the chunkier side (classic pear, sz 16) and they're quite snug on my legs. I have very slim mum friends who also converted to them and they fit them really well. Loads of stretch in them. The main difference is that they eventually wear on the thighs with my chub rub and my slim friends find they go baggy at the knees.x

Applecrumble24 · 14/12/2020 19:03

@Kiki275 thank you. Think I'll order my normal size, nothing worse than baggy knees!
