Hi!

I got my BFP a few days back (well a lot of BFPs as I'm a POAS addict) and my due date is likely to be early August 2021.

Any other ladies out there with similar exciting news in need of chat and support in these strange times please jump on board!

Thank you :)

@SFA21 yep!!! I actually googled last night if you can eat lentils and quinoa before having my dinner, where as obviously these are really healthy. I also put some tea tree on a few spots about a week ago, and googled straight after to find that tea tree isn't recommended in the first trimester so had to run and wash it off. It's a bit of a minefield isn't it!

LunaorJack95 · 08/12/2020 11:20

@Pika93 thank you I've sent a request just now 🥰

SFA21 · 08/12/2020 11:21

@MintGreenLife it really is! I've been googling every herb and spice, every skincare product - I'm permanently glued to google right now 😂

Bells20 · 08/12/2020 11:22

@summerbubs hi! I have an early scan booked for when I'm 6+3 so hoping I'll be able to see a heartbeat! Definitely feeling the same as you and will find the scan very reassuring

@SFA21 absolutely. I'm particular I've been Googling about whether things can be reheated. I normally would reheat all sorts of things and not worry about it but feel extra cautious!

Can I ask people's advice on when to stop testing. I've been POAS every day for a week since I got my BFP and really feeling like I should stop now and just try and have a little faith in the process.

MrsLauraM · 08/12/2020 11:23

I have a private scan booked for 22nd, I’ll be 7 weeks exactly. It’s mainly for reassurance and also to have something to show to the parents/siblings when we tell them on Christmas Day ☺️

BertieBotts · 08/12/2020 14:09

No more tests here. I tend to stop once I have a definitive which (for DH) means a "proper" brand. The cheapie ones are just a good but he likes a bit of marketing.

Once you've got a solid line you'll just drive yourself nuts looking for differences.

SFA21 · 08/12/2020 14:18

@Bells20
Oh god I didn't even think about reheating stuff - will have to keep an eye out for that too!

AbbeyBelfast · 08/12/2020 14:37

So who's feeling super bloated?!

Barely 5 weeks and I feel the size of a house.

AbbeyBelfast · 08/12/2020 14:38

Also...

Is there a WhatsApp group?

I don't use Facebook so can't join that group Confused

Would love a WhatsApp group! I'm sure we can make one if there isn't already one? Smile
LunaorJack95 · 08/12/2020 15:20

I'm down for a WhatsApp group too!

Here's a story that might make you ladies laugh - boyfriend and I were DTD v early this morn and I grabbed the nearest lube I could find (it happened to be conceive plus). Mid act our cat stars meowing at the door (my room is an extension in the garden and you can see through the doors).

We go over to check what's going on as she's making sounds we've never heard before.. she's staring at an IDENTICAL cat on the other side of the door. Took us a second to spot the differences but we seriously thought we were tripping for a second. Bf lost his happy place and then spots the lube and starts to panic saying "don't use that lube you're already pregnant" as if that will now get me pregnant with twins?! Men eh!! 😂😂🤦🏽‍♀️

I'm not sure how to start a WhatsApp group but if someone wants to make one please add me lol

Hi everyone, just wanted to say massive congratulations to everyone on their BFPs. This was my 7th cycle of trying (which I'm grateful for, I know other ladies have to wait so much longer) but I was starting to wonder when it would happen and I found the whole process such a rollercoaster. I had a chemical in August so being cautious, but I'm already feeling much more confident as the line is so much stronger this time.

Does everyone just go by their last period for estimating? If I go by that I'm 5+2 but I was using ovulation tests and according to that I only ovulated 12 days ago. However, the line on my FRER was very dark and clear blue is saying 2-3 weeks. I only ask as I would love to book an early scan but i don't want to do it until 8 weeks as I'm worried it will panic me if we can't see anything. Would you trust the ovulation tests?

Sorry for the long post, it's my first baby and I'm clearly clueless!

BertieBotts · 08/12/2020 17:15

If you're doing it at 8 weeks a difference of 2 days isn't a big deal :) Days matter for 5/6 week scans but at 8 weeks you'll definitely see something.

Knope24 · 08/12/2020 17:25

If I take it from ovulation I would only be 3+6 instead of 5+2. Just seems a big difference in these early days. So confusing Confused

MrsLauraM · 08/12/2020 17:31

You would go from the date of your last period so you are 5+2 currently. When you do the digital scan with clear blue it only gives dates from conception not the same dates a doctor/midwife would go by which is why that only shows 2-3 weeks.

BertieBotts · 08/12/2020 17:45

It doesn't really matter, as it's only a difference of 8 days. At 8 weeks this doesn't matter. At 3/4/5 weeks it really does.

They will generally go by period date even if you know when you ovulated, so unless you lie and say your period was 14 days before ovulation, that's what date you'll have on your notes. They then adjust it at the dating scan which is at about 10-12 weeks, but sometimes they only adjust it if you're more than a week out.

Knope24 · 08/12/2020 17:48

Okay thanks guys Smile

Sophieb6898 · 08/12/2020 17:49

Evening all ,

I am due 6th of August , I stil can’t believe it and becoming a bit of a POAS addict 🙈 congratulations to you all x

Bonniecoloo · 08/12/2020 18:22

@Knope24 congratulations on your BFP! It’s my first also and I’m 5+5 but I also find it so confusing! Because my last month was a chemical I’m unsure if that is counted as my period date (if that makes sense) will just wait until my dating scan to be told otherwise. I tried to book an early scan but couldn’t get one before Christmas and so I think I’m going to book the week between Christmas and NYE - that way if I’m out by a week I should still be able to see something.

@Sophieb6898 - congratulations !! That’s my due date too! I’m also a POAS addict - I’ve got one more clear blue digital which I will wait to test until the weekend then I will have to force myself to stop 😳

Is anyone else feeling super bloated today?

Knope24 · 08/12/2020 18:49

@Bonniecoloo congratulations! So nice to hear you were able to conceive quickly after your chemical, thats brilliant.

Smushty14 · 08/12/2020 21:57

@LunaorJack95 Ahahaha your story made me laugh!!!
