@Flora20 thank you, that made me feel a bit better. I know the measurements aren't accurate but I'm pretty worried. Your midwife appointment sounds quite fun, I love that your baby is full of baby!

@FirstSurprise001 thank you. I want to avoid induction but I now have a scan Monday and midwife Wednesday to review, so at least I can talk through options...

@DressingGown87 I'm clinging on to it not being too worrying or they wouldn't leave it through the weekend. It's going to be a long few days though I suspect.

Sls668 · 09/10/2020 21:39

@CurlyMummy1912 I’ve ordered new inhalers too although my breathing has been slightly easier this week so maybe she has shifted down a little.

I’m having to self isolate so missed my 36 week appointment and it’s making me a little anxious that we could miss something. I’m very low risk so I know I’m just worrying but those check ins are just good for reassurance.

I wish I would start nesting, I can never be bothered to do anything 😂 I have two pugs and one is very senior, he just wants me to sit on the sofa with him all day and seems to be getting his own way! They’ve always been clingy but at the moment they want to be on me all the time and I just want some space - I think they’re sensing something is going on!

Flora20 · 10/10/2020 17:53

@roarfeckingroarr Hope you're feeling ok today. X

I'm feeling really stupid/annoyed/in pain right now - I've had some mild pelvic pain, right in the middle of my pelvis, on and off for a few weeks so been really careful with getting up, keeping my legs closer together etc... Lunged sideways to get something from my toddler about an hour ago and I felt a horrific tearing pain in the same place - can hardly move let alone walk. It feels as though I've torn the muscle in two if that's actually possible?! It's definitely a muscle thing rather than a labour thing, I'm now desperately hoping baby doesn't make an appearance for a few days as I don't feel I could physically move enough at the moment! Currently sitting down with a warm rice bag between my legs and hoping it fixes itself soon 🙈

1990shopefulftm · 10/10/2020 18:01

@Flora20 that sounds painful , hope it gets easier soon.

SWLondonTown · 10/10/2020 19:17

@Flora20 noooo you poor thing. Sounds awful, wishing you a speedy recovery

Mc3209 · 11/10/2020 08:08

@roarfeckingroarr when is your growth scan? Perhaps your belly dropped hence the change in measurement. I hope all goes well for you.

@Flora20 ouch, that sounds painful. How are you getting on? Is it getting any better?

How is everyone doing? I am starting to get some period pain like twangs. To be honest, it would be great if the beastie makes an appearance in the next week or so. He is quite big on the growth scans..

Mc3209 · 11/10/2020 08:11

@CurlyMummy1912 that's some impressive swelling.
And yes, I've got tonnes of videos of belly doing nothing 😂 As if the baby knows he is being filmed or DH has his hand on my belly 😂

CurlyMummy1912 · 11/10/2020 08:21

@Mc3209 why thank you! Haha!

I'm going to my 8 year old's football matches this morning for the last time before baby - really looking forward to it! I take a camping chair to sit on which is just so much better than standing for an hour. They think I do it because I'm pregnant but I will definitely continue!

@Flora20 how are you feeling today?

I'm 37 weeks today so I have some syringes arriving from Amazon to attempt some colostrum harvesting!

DressingGown87 · 11/10/2020 08:34

@CurlyMummy1912 ouch your ankles look painful, I hope they’ve gone down now you’ve rested. I also have lots of videos like that. Her movements have really ramped up in the last 24hrs, but still can’t catch her.

@roarfeckingroarr how you feeling? Hope your managing to have a nice weekend with lots of treats for you.

@Sls668 sounds like they are trying to get all the cuddles before they have to share you 😌

@Flora20 ouch that sounds painful. Hope you feeling better today, and getting lots of rest.

@Mc3209 my cramps, back ache and movements have started to ramp up in the last 24 hours. But then I also feel run down, tired, ear ache, and generally meh! So hoping I can start to feel better before she decides to make an appearance. When are you due? Are you bouncing on the ball and stuff to try move things along?

I think I’m still in denial that I’m having a baby, or that of the opinion something is going to go wrong. When you’ve had 5 years of counselling looking at coping mechanisms and the positives of not having your own children. It’s hard to change the mentality. I’ve got use to watching people having babies, thinking that will never be me. Now, Here I am sat here thinking it is me, it’s a few days off being me, but how is it me, why now.

@Mc3209 I ve had some cramping pain and back pain on and off for the past few days but nothings come of it.
I can barely walk most of the time now so would be quite happy for baby to be born a couple of weeks early.

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt · 11/10/2020 09:58

whats everyone's childcare 'labour plan' looking like?

Ours are 30 mins away so not too bad but with the added threat of local lock down on Wednesday its making everything a bit more tricky. Just hoping our hospital doesn't implement any rules that make visiting or birth partner situation complicated.

I'm getting serious heaviness in my vagina and ligament pain has ramped up loads. I'm so ready now!

Laanie · 11/10/2020 10:46

37+4 today. Feeling lots of pressure downstairs and walking is getting harder and harder! I think I can no longer deny having a serious pregnancy waddle.

I am starting to get really really impatient but also more and more scared for what's to come.
Baby has definitely dropped with the pressure and feeling the kicks a lot lower than before. But still that darn heart burn!!

Hope everyone is hanging in there and the wait will be over soon x

1990shopefulftm · 11/10/2020 10:49

@Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt if it's like my area then childcare is allowed in emergencies and giving birth certainly counts as that so if it does happen to your area it shouldn't make things worse.

I've been fully prepared for the hospital's restrictions to get worse with the case numbers but no changes as of yet so hopefully you won't have any issues with the hospital.

DressingGown87 · 11/10/2020 11:13

@Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt hopefully it doesn’t complicate matters, going into lockdown. I think for Emergancy and childcare you can still use family to help.

@Laanie my indigestion and heartburn has returned, but read it’s a sign of labour / the start. As the baby moves down, it pushes everything up.

Flora20 · 11/10/2020 12:11

Thanks all - I think it's improving this morning although I'm still very sore. I've packed my daughter off to my mum's (thank god Mum has just moved closer!) and I'm being very very careful today. Last night I couldn't walk, today I can hobble very slowly 🤷‍♀️ I'm getting some cramping in my back and I'm feeling a bit emotional, all of which which I'm trying to ignore...

@Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt No real plan here, just going to play it by ear and see what happens at the time - see if/when I need my daughter to be out of the house. But childcare is an acceptable reason to break the rules so don't worry about that. Visiting hours are a different story, not sure how that could be affected.

SamK93 · 11/10/2020 12:38

@Laanie @DressingGown87 I had the worst heartburn two days before!! Tuesday & Wednesday it was horrendous! Thursday morning baby was here.

Laanie · 11/10/2020 12:53

Ohh! I didn't know that could be a sign of the beginning. Fingers crossed for that then.

CurlyMummy1912 · 11/10/2020 13:30

Just like everyone here I'm struggling to walk/breathe. I barely paid attention to my son's match as I was so exhausted from getting ready/there/out of the car to the pitch! Lots of kind people helping me but definitely need to avoid doing almost anything now. I had a full night of sleep and still woke up shattered!!

Baby so big and pressing down hard but legs still into my ribs. She's tracking very big so it doesn't surprise me!

Childcare-wise the plan is for my mum to have my son when I go into hospital. She doesn't work so he can stay with her easily and his dad can still have him at their normal times.

Just on the sofa with my phone and kindle! Drooling over seraphine parkas...

My sister wants to do a bump cast of my tummy next week. Anyone else had that done? I don't really want it but she is starting a business doing it so I said I'll do it and decorate it as I like painting and then she can keep it as an example.

Rugby and motor racing on the tv here...yawn!!

FirstSurprise001 · 11/10/2020 16:08

Definitely need to be resting more here too. 39 weeks on Wednesday and I’m absolutely exhausted. Still can’t put any pressure on my right leg without shooting pains up my bum cheek and back (day 6 now), on top of that I’ve had one of those days where everything has gone wrong. One of my new bras got caught in the washing machine door and ripped in two, broke the zip off my wellies, lost track of the amount of things I’ve dropped/walked into. Just sat on the bed and cried after a shower - this baby best come soon because I don’t know how much more I can take.

Feel like in the last week I’ve gone from hardly feeling pregnant to not being able to do anything. And yet I feel completely in denial that in the next couple of weeks I’ll have a baby. Feels like I’ve just been growing a big belly and then it’s going to go away, not actually have a human to look after 🙈

Mc3209 · 11/10/2020 16:24

@DressingGown87 I am due on 31st. Haven't really done anything specific to get things moving, but I just finished sorting out a garden, which I really wanted to do before the baby arrives. Have been cutting hedges, mawing lawns, planting bulbs and shrubs, and putting down bark. Finished yesterday and quite satisfied with the result. Now just the front lawn to mow and that would be done.
Planning to start harvesting colostrum tomorrow and do a bit more ball bouncing.

@CurlyMummy1912 I've done a cast of my belly literally this morning! It was a DIY job from a pack. Messy as anything, but good fun. Now I need to figure out where to keep it once it's all set and finished..

Mc3209 · 11/10/2020 16:26

@FirstSurprise001 it feels so surreal baby will be here soon! I keep flipping between disbelief and panic 😂

CurlyMummy1912 · 11/10/2020 16:29

@FirstSurprise001 you sound as physically and mentally exhausted as me. Big hugs 🤗 I loved when you said "it feels like I've just been growing a big bump that won't go away". That's exactly how I feel! Even though I know it will be a baby in a couple of weeks it's hard to really believe it until it happens.

The thought of getting my body back and getting to meet her and having some alcohol are getting me through!

I'm craving proper good cooking but making anything is so hard!

DressingGown87 · 11/10/2020 16:55

@Flora20 hope you’ve had a restful day today, and it’s improved a little bit more.

@samk93 eeek! Hope you and baby are doing well, and your home and settled.

@CurlyMummy1912 hope you’ve had some rest this afternoon and found something to watch. I’ve taking up binging Netflix. I would love a roast dinner right now!

@FirstSurprise001 hope you have a better day tomorrow, and get some rest. That’s exactly how I feel, like it’s just going to disappear. How my life next week is going to be so different.

@Mc3209 wow you sound like you’ve had a productive day, well done for getting the garden all sorted. I’ve just finished the cleaning the house, I think I’m ready!

roarfeckingroarr · 11/10/2020 20:14

@Flora20 oww!! Hope it's feeling better. Pregnancy is the worst for things hurting that usually just wouldn't be a thing. I have to climb about the sofa / bed so carefully or I seem to dislocate something.

@Mc3209 scan is tomorrow at 5.30. I'm nervous but trying not to worry too much as baby is moving around as usual.

It's my due date today! OH and I went for a looooong walk (11.5km!), I had a bath and he's now cooking steaks while I watch Mistresses. I hope you've all had a lovely weekend and are feeling well.

CurlyMummy1912 · 11/10/2020 21:26

@roarfeckingroarr you walked 11.5km?!?!! WTF?! I'm so impressed!! I can barely get up the stairs!!!!
