@DressingGown87 thanks hopefully it is a growth spurt that would make sense.

poor paige thats a shame I'm dreading Lewis's but he is getting them 2 weeks late because they only do them on a Monday and itll be the xmas and new year bank holidays

Mc3209 · 13/12/2020 11:58

I've lost the thread for a while. Rafa is getting his jabs on 24th of Dec.. looks like we are in for a fun Christmas.

Also, it turns out he is a bottle refuser. I thought I'd introduce a bottle at 6 weeks, just so DH can give him an occasional feed and I can get to the salon to get my hair done in January. We had to top up with formula in his first week of life, so I thought there would be no issues with the bottle... I was wrong. He just does not take it, and it does not matter if it's me giving it, DH giving it, whether it's expressed breast milk or formula, nor the type of bottle. Mobile hairdresser it is then..

@Mc3209 I hope Rafa doesn't do too badly with his jabs. I hope you have more luck with the bottles soon.

Very slowly losing the baby weight, i certainly won't be getting the stomach I had before with the amount my skin has stretched but I just want to get off my blood pressure drugs and for my joints to be less painful before having a crawling baby to chase after.

Mc3209 · 13/12/2020 14:12

@1990shopefulftm scales are moving in the right direction for me too, but the weight loss has slowed down massively. I started to exercise last week. I was unpleasantly surprised to still have PGP, especially when walking (thankfully not when sleeping). I hope this wonky pevis settles...
Are you doing anything special to lose baby weight?

1990shopefulftm · 13/12/2020 14:23

@Mc3209 just less calories and a very reduced salt diet to help with my blood pressure, it took a while for me to really recover from the sepsis and my iron levels need time to go back up so I m trying to be quite careful and not rush it. Is physio an option for you?

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt · 13/12/2020 14:24

Im having pelvic/tummy pains too. I'll mention it at my check up in a couple of weeks and hopefully get a referral for physio

FirstSurprise001 · 13/12/2020 19:35

@Mc3209 we have a bottle refuser too. Made even more difficult by the GP prescribing baby gaviscon which is supposed to be taken in a bottle. I’m having to mix with water and syringe it into his mouth every feed.

Think I was naive in thinking the baby weight would drop off when EBF but I’m still nearly a stone and a half over pre-baby weight after 6 weeks. How much are you guys averaging a loss per week?

Mc3209 · 13/12/2020 20:47

@1990shopefulftm I am hoping it will go away on its own once I get up to speed with yoga.
@FirstSurprise001 that sounds like a mission.
Re weight, by the end of pregnancy I gained something in the region of 23-24kg. Now I am 10kg over my pre- pregnancy weight, but the weight loss has stalled. I was retaining shed loads of water as it turns out. In the last 2 weeks I've lost only half a kilo. I am also a bit uneasy about restricting calories too much for the fear of it affecting milk supply. But yes, I was hoping the actual weight (not the water retention) would come off easier with EBF.

I think we need a new thread on parenting board. I will set it up and post link here.
