Just had my private growth scan. Well, the kid is chubby with an impressive amount of abdominal fat. So now there is a question whether I developed GD in the last few weeks 😣 Now waiting to see a midwife. Fun times.

1990shopefulftm · 08/10/2020 15:58

@Mc3209 Hope you get seen soon, scans can be out of a bit so hopefully it's good news.

DressingGown87 · 08/10/2020 16:03

@Flora20 thank you.

@FirstSurprise001 hope you enjoyed your night away. The new thread has started something off! Aww not long until your due date. I was the 20th.

@Mc3209 hope everything is ok! Hope you don’t have to wait long. Scans can be unreliable, so hopefully they can give you some reassurance.

Thank you so much ladies. I've had back ache all week and the braxton hicks were pretty painful yet irregular all week, I realised about 9pm last night that these irregular braxton hicks were getting quite intense and regular so I started to time them. Bare in mind yesterday I vacuumed all the house from attic to downstairs, cooked and ate a curry, did the deed with my partner during the day, did a lot of housework and usual errands so I was shattered. Anyway around 1am I decided to call triage who called me in, I was 3cm at 2.15 am straight on to gas and air, 6cm at 6.15 am still on gas air but I literally begged for pethadine which they then gave me. Around 9 am I had the urge to push, pushed for round an hour, gave up on the gas and air at this point, the pushing stage seemed like it lasted forever!! He was born at 10.19am 6lbs 14 so not bad for a 36+6, but due the fact he isn't term we have to stay in for 24 hours for observations so we got admitted to the ward at 12pm. I'm also on a drip because I'm really anaemic and got very dehydrated during the labour too and lost a lot of blood. So hopefully I'm just here for 24 hours and will be home by this time tomorrow fingers crossed!! Not long now girls, crazy that my due date isn't until 30th yet he's here.

roarfeckingroarr · 08/10/2020 18:20

Oh gosh congratulations!!! How wonderful!

Mine is due Sunday but no signs yet

Sls668 · 08/10/2020 19:28

We’re due on 30th and no sign either, although my OH is working away next week Mon-Fri so she needs to stay where she is until next weekend at least!

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt · 08/10/2020 20:29

I'm due 31st.

I've been having a lot of pain in my upper inner thighs into my bum crease today. Has anyone else had similar? It's freaking me out a bit!

Flora20 · 08/10/2020 20:36

I'm due on the 23rd, had lots of aching and tightenings that made me think it was starting last week but the last couple of days seem to have eased off. Got a midwife appointment tomorrow that neither my midwife nor I thought I'd make it to so maybe that will kick start things 😂

@Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt Maybe baby has moved onto a nerve? Try sitting on a ball or hands and knees to see if it moves a bit!

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt · 08/10/2020 20:38

I actually did try hands and knees earlier (by try I mean, tidying lego off the floor) and it was agony Confused

FirstSurprise001 · 08/10/2020 20:52

@Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt mines been more lightning crotch at the most in opportune times (like crossing a road) and I think I’ve pulled a muscle in my bum/back. 🥴

Sounds like we’re all feeling the final stretch pains! 😂

1990shopefulftm · 09/10/2020 11:35

Had a few tightenings that were quite uncomfortable this morning but it has stopped completely again. It's difficult not to get hopeful even though the chances of it being over 2 weeks early are pretty low.

Freddie1987 · 09/10/2020 11:54

@Flora20 I'm the 23rd too 🤗

Haven't had any real signs I don't think, very slight period pain twinges last night but I've had those on/off for a few weeks and midwife said it's probably just the final stretching down into the pelvis. Starting to get a bit impatient though!

GhostWorld · 09/10/2020 12:06

I'm 28th and been having a few period type aches, backache and lots of BH. I thought my waters broke last week but I think I may have just wet myself?!?! Blush. Got a hair appointment next week so hoping I hold on until then at least haha

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt · 09/10/2020 12:14

Been for a walk today to get a greggs (craving one all week) what's normally a 15 min walk took me 30mins Shock

Now I'm knackered and might nap before I can eat it lol

DressingGown87 · 09/10/2020 17:57

@SamK93 aww it sounds it progressed quickly, and that is a good weight. Hope your ok and your now at home resting!

I’ve been having cramps, tightening S and pains on and off. Which sometimes catches me by surprise. Thought it was the start of labour, but no. I’ve done all the cleaning today, with my new found boredom. I’m so happy, as a skin tag which had got quite large and annoying has finally dropped off! Now just for the other 32 to follow!

@Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt I was craving a greggs yesterday so had to go get one 😂 hope it was worth it. Mine wasn’t.

@DressingGown87 I'm still here unfortunately they haven't discharged me yet looking unlikely until tomorrow all depending on baby's blood results which will be retested again at 12am. I'm getting fed up now and miss my kids!

DressingGown87 · 09/10/2020 18:11

@SamK93 aww that’s rubbish! Fingers crossed you get discharged tomorrow. I’m sure the kids are dying to meet their little brother too. Enjoy the peace and quiet whilst you can.

SWLondonTown · 09/10/2020 18:42

@SamK93 congratulations on your little boy! Hope you are discharged very soon.

KitKatKit · 09/10/2020 19:27

Hi all, just checking in to say Congrats to all the arrivals so far and sending everyone else all the good vibes!

My little boy is 19 days old now (I can't actually believe it), and despite him being born 4 weeks early seems to be doing well!

I know there was some chat on here about snacks for labour/afterwards- Bear in mind the wards are boiling hot so don't take loads of chocolate or it will all melt! Def recommend taking some savoury bits that would work well for breakfast- croissants/pain au chocolat if you like. I was kept in the hospital for three days and found that the 8.30am breakfast trolley was way too late considering I'd barely slept the night before and was always ravenous by the time it came round.

Hope you can all take it slightly easy over the next few days and weeks before your little ones arrive!

roarfeckingroarr · 09/10/2020 19:52

I had my 40 week appointment today at 39+5. Baby is measuring small so I'm being sent for a scan on Monday. Not feeling great and wish it wasn't 3 days away. I'm hoping that if there was anything too wrong they might have squeezed me in today. Not ideal, just trying not to worry.

Flora20 · 09/10/2020 20:04

@roarfeckingroarr Bump measurements (and scan measurements at this point) are notoriously unreliable, please don't worry if you're otherwise feeling like all is well. Are you still getting normal movements etc? I got sent for a growth scan with my first as though it was a massive issue, there was nothing wrong at all but if baby is lying in a slightly different position it has a big effect on the measurements. If they were really worried you'd have been booked in today. X

I had my 38 week appointment today and the midwife spent ages poking around my bump and laughing - which is just what you want! She said she'd never felt a bump that was so full of baby, he's not measuring big but just fills all the available space 😂 going to spend some time on my ball to encourage him out!

FirstSurprise001 · 09/10/2020 20:31

@roarfeckingroarr sucks that you have to wait until Monday for your scan but think on the positive side - the results on Monday could mean they make an action plan to induce/get things started sooner than waiting around for little one to make their own appearance! Keep us updated and try to have a relaxing weekend ❤️

@Flora20 I thought I was the only one who’s midwife does this 😂 she keeps going on about how ‘full I am’ and I kept thinking she meant my bladder was full or I’d eaten too much until I asked what she meant 😂

38 week appointment today and baby still isn’t engaged. They’ve offered me a stretch and sweep at 40 weeks but only if he’s engaged by then. So everything crossed. Also saw the physio today about not being able to put any weight on my right leg since Monday and they think the baby is trapping a nerve somewhere so just have to wait for him to move and try to get plenty of rest. Decided now that I’m back from Edinburgh I would double up the Raspberry Leaf tea tablets today - oooo the BH are real tonight 🥴

DressingGown87 · 09/10/2020 21:02

@KitKatKit lovely to hear from you, glad your both doing well. I can’t believe he is 19 days olds!! Hope motherhood is treating you well. Great tip about the chocolate. I have a packet of hobnobs in my bag, but I doubt they will last the day.

@roarfeckingroarr that is stupid that they are leaving you until Monday, but hopefully it’s because they are not too concerned. I agree, bump measurements can be out, so try not too worry, and if your are worried about movements go and get seen. They can get a plan in place if they have any concerns then.

@Flora20 good luck with the ball, I’ve tried that today. Still think she won’t budge. 😂 he obviously likes stretching out!

@FirstSurprise001 hope the tea works and get bouncing on the ball, hopefully that will encourage him to venture down and off the nerve. But I did read that some babies don’t engage until they are ready to come out.

Hi All

I missed lots of messages so I finished reading thread 5 and read all of thread 6 ...so exciting to see babies starting to be born!! Congratulations!!

I have elective c section booked on 27th but will be amazed if I last that long. Last time my waters broke at 38 weeks. I'm 37 weeks this weekend. My tummy is SO FULL and her movements are so powerful I feel like she wants to burst out.

I'm on MAT leave since Monday and have cleaned the whole house. My feet swelled up so much so I have been ordered to get some rest which has worked well and they're almost back to normal!

Does anyone else have endless videos on their phone of their stomach doing absolutely nothing!? Every time I try to capture the movements she stops!

I ordered more feeding bras as I realised I only have two and had a new inhaler today as like @Sls668 I have been struggling to breathe.

Just want her to bloody come now. Every time I go to the loo I'm so hopeful that my waters might break! Haha! If I go into lab early I just call and they do an emergency section.

Massive love to everyone on here! Xxxxxx
