Congratulations on the two new arrivals!

I thought it would be worth mentioning that my son struggled to latch on when BF'd in the first few days and then I had him checked for a tongue tie. Once snipped, he fed like a dream...

SamK93 · 07/10/2020 11:41

@DressingGown87 thank you for all the advice, i have applied this morning so will just take it from there. Unfortunately I'm not entitled to the sure start grant as it's for first baby or multiple babies. Hope you have a good day and the cramping eases off and she holds on for one more day!

AdventureAhead · 07/10/2020 12:07

@lst87 and @sophiejosie95 massive congratulations on your new arrivals! Thanks for sharing your birth stories with us too. I hope you're both rec okivering well and completely in love with your little bambinos!
@dressinggown87 keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Sls668 · 07/10/2020 15:20

Congrats @LST87 and @SophieJosie95!! It’s so strange to think that babies from our group are here already!!!

My best friend has had a positive Covid result today and I saw her at the weekend before her symptoms started so, not only am I self isolating, but also feeling slightly nervous! I’m 37 weeks on Friday so hoping I’ve still a couple of weeks before she comes so that we can get out of the panic stage. I have to miss my 36 week appointment with the midwife tomorrow too which is annoying

BS9790 · 07/10/2020 17:48

I was in triage at 3am, til 7.30. Having 3 tightenings every 10 mins on the monitor and cervix is 2cm dilated... Only went in for reduced movements 🙄 they wanted to keep me in as if its labour then I'm pre term until Saturday... I came home though "against medical advice"... But If I'd gone in 3 days later they wouldn't have even suggested keeping me in because I'd be classed as full term.

Worrying now, but I'm not sure why 🤣

SamK93 · 07/10/2020 18:11

@BS9790 wow! That's crazy, are you still having contractions? What advice have they given you x

DressingGown87 · 07/10/2020 18:57

@SamK93 @AdventureAhead thank you both! She’s held off for now anyways, got mixed feeling about the sweep. Part of me hopes it doesn’t work, so i can have a chilled weekend.

@Sls668 aww hope your ok! Rest and take it easy at home, and hopefully you won’t develop any symptoms. It’s just impossible to tell / know who has it. Could the MW do a phone appointment to answer any questions you may have? I know it’s not the same.

@BS9790 you poor thing! Glad your home, and hopefully you can relax. Completely understand why you did it, and you can always go back if things change. Have they give you a plan of action? Or taking you back to get checked at any point? Hope your ok.

It’s seems a lot of these October babies are impatient!!

@BS9790 I can understand why you d want to go home where you d be more comfortable, hope they suggested something for you to do in the meantime.

Had a moment after dinner where I stood up and had horrendous pain in my bump, baby moving has never been that painful before but it passed in under 10 seconds and nothing in the half hour since then so i m assuming I shouldn't get my hopes up.

Glooorb · 07/10/2020 19:17

Congratulations @LST87 @SophieJosie95 - exciting that the October babies are here already!

BS9790 · 07/10/2020 19:17

@SamK93 @DressingGown87, just said to phone up to go back if movements reduce, waters break or contractions become painful.
I've got to go for monitoring tomorrow and already had a scan booked in on Friday.

I've bled most of the day but I'm assuming that's from the internal examinations as it started as soon as I left the hospital and its got lighter as the day went on.

Just have to see what happens over the next few days! 🤷‍♀️🙈

Glooorb · 07/10/2020 19:19

@BS9790 it's nice to be home for the early labour parts I think? Rather than stuck in the hospital with monitors strapped to you. And like you say if it were 3 days later they wouldn't have kept you in so I can't seem how it would make a massive difference?

Flora20 · 07/10/2020 19:29

I've missed a lot on here today! Congratulations on the new babies, very exciting!

@BS9790 "against medical advice" is such a loaded phrase. Ignore them 😂 Relax, watch something funny, have a cuddle with your partner and see what happens. X

Freddie1987 · 07/10/2020 19:41

@LST87 & @SophieJosie95 so many congratulations to you both, you've both done so well!! 🙌🙌🙌hope you both and the babies are recovering and resting well, it's great to hear both of your experiences.

@BS9790 I definitely think it's worth staying at home as long as possible, sounds like you've done just the right thing for you and baby ☺️

SamK93 · 08/10/2020 11:38

Adding another baby to the group! Proud to say my baby boy Noah arrived 10.19 this morning at 36+6 I will update you all with details later on just thought I'd let you know x

Mc3209 · 08/10/2020 11:42

Massive congratulations @SamK93, @SophieJosie95, and @LST87!!

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt · 08/10/2020 11:58

Tthese early babies are making me feel a bit 'eeeeek'!

GhostWorld · 08/10/2020 12:00

Freddie1987 · 08/10/2020 12:11

@SamK93 no way that's amazing news, congratulations!! Love the name Noah too ☺️hope you're both recovering well x

DressingGown87 · 08/10/2020 12:18

@SamK93 omg congratulation! Another impatient October baby! Love the name Noah. Hope your both doing ok? Rest and enjoy!

Is anyone going to get to their due date?

I’ve had my sweep. Bet she sticks in there, even though they are trying to evict her early.
