Big congratulations to @CurlyMummy1912 - did you end up getting your section or was she too quick? Great to hear she’s in your arms.

And also congratulations to @Mc3209 on Baby Rafa... hope recovery is going well

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt · 27/10/2020 07:55

Congratulations on more babies! Hope you're both feeling well.

I'm insanely jealous Confused

DressingGown87 · 27/10/2020 07:58

@Mc3209 congratulations on Baby Rafa. Hope your having lots of rest and cuddles. The recovery from the section isn’t too bad, means you sit still and get extra cuddles!

@CurlyMummy1912 congratulations on Baby Georgina, love that name. So glad you got cuddles at last. Hope you both recover well.

FirstSurprise001 · 27/10/2020 09:25

@Mc3209 @CurlyMummy1912 congratulations both! Hope you’re managing to rest up and enjoy all the cuddles now.

Good luck @Eep2020 - not long to go now!

Babies are coming thick and fast now 🥰 very very jealous at this point!

WaveStreet · 27/10/2020 09:31

Huge congratulations @Mc3209 and @CurlyMummy1912! Well done to you both 💙❤️

@roarfeckingroarr great to hear you are settling in well even though he is keeping you awake all night.

Absolutely no signs of anything happening for me yet so trying to keep busy in the meantime. I'm not feeling too fed up yet, just excited to meet him.

LadyB90 · 27/10/2020 15:53

@Mc3209 @CurlyMummy1912
Huge congratulations to you both! Enjoy every second of newborn cuddles.

I've had crampy back pains all day but no idea if I'm just symptom spotting or overthinking or whether it means something might happen. Hope everyone still waiting for their little one is doing okay and not feeling too fed up. Soon we'll all be getting our newborn cuddles 🥰

Glooorb · 27/10/2020 16:07

Congratulations to all the new babies who have arrived! They are coming thick and fast now.

Rest of the ladies - enjoy the last days and weeks of your pregnancy! It sounds really cliche, but I'm in a way missing the pregnancy and my bump - it's like an end to a chapter for me and it is a weird and sad feeling.

I suspect I am (and DH too) are getting a bout of baby blues... looking after the lil one is tough!!

Freddie1987 · 27/10/2020 16:57

Huge congrats @Mc3209 and @CurlyMummy1912 hope you're both recovering well, you're both absolute warriors!! Two beautiful names too! Xxx

@roarfeckingroarr it's encouraging to hear you went into labour after your first sweep. I've just tried to have my first and it failed because my cervix is shut for business still Sad

Then trust me to have a little cry on the walk home and bump into our next door neighbour who I've not seen for months and had to stop and have a chat with! Trying not to feel too deflated but it's really hard when the midwives are pushing induction on you for next week...

1990shopefulftm · 27/10/2020 17:13

@Freddie1987 it's perfectly valid to be upset that things aren't going how you want it to.

Don't let the midwifes pressure you into if it's not what you want to do. Someone suggested to me that you can even ask for a second opinion on the day of the induction if you re still unsure that you want to do it perhaps that could be something you could do?

SamK93 · 27/10/2020 17:28

@gloorb I haven't been feeling myself either for the past week or so. I spent most of the day crying today, really not feeling positive. The sleep deprivation doesn't help, the last three nights have been the worst. He's feeding every 1/2 hours and then not settling when I put him down. I'm really struggling as I can't rest during the day as I have two other children to look after, all the housework and cooking too. I have a lack of support, especially from DH. Just finding it all really difficult right now.

DressingGown87 · 27/10/2020 18:04

@Freddie1987 you know your body, so don’t feel pressured into anything. You will know what’s right at the time and can get second opinions. I started my induction and my cervix was closed. After 48hours I knew what was best for me, and Paige based on my body. Luckily they all agreed (apart from one doctor) who later apologised. You still have plenty of time, once things start to progress, your body knows what to do. Fingers crossed for you.

@Glooorb @SamK93 I’m the same. 2nd week blues. Doesn’t help that Paige has been unsettled the last few days, and has really bad diarrhoea. So it’s constant nappy changes (which she hates) by comfort feeding, and repeating the cycle. They’ve said it’s possibly a bug, and they will review her on Friday. I get the sleep, just not use to the broken / short spells. We will get there!

Glooorb · 27/10/2020 18:55

@SamK93 oh I can't believe you juggle 2 children and a newborn! You are superwoman. I don't know how you have the energy. I have a single newborn and I can barely cope.

@DressingGown87 sorry to hear that Paige is not well - hope everything clears soon.

It's somewhat comforting that other ladies are in the same boat for baby blues, so I know I'm not alone. Breastfeeding is the toughie for me, as well as all the constant feeding and lack of sleep. Seriously like a zombie shuffling about in the evenings.

60sPony · 27/10/2020 19:41

@Freddie1987 when is your due date? Sorry to hear you feel like you are being pushed into something you don’t want. Hopefully you can have a constructive discussion with the midwife and find something you are comfortable with.
I know generally inductions have a pretty bad reputation and for my first I really dreaded mine but it was actually a really positive experience, which isn’t often portrayed online so if you want to chat it through at all feel free to DM me.

AdventureAhead · 28/10/2020 07:35

Another baby to report! Went into labour on my due date (26th) and we had a boy yesterday morning. Loving the newborn snuggles.
Thoughts with those of you that are waiting for babies to arrive. It will be worth it when they get here!

sophs29 · 28/10/2020 07:36

Congratulations on your baby boy @AdventureAhead ☺️💙

krissy12 · 28/10/2020 08:12

congratulations on all the new babies so jealous

@Freddie1987 I have requested the outpatient balloon induction first because I didnt want to be in hospital so long isthat an option for you ? basically have an appointment on the induction ward, baby gets monitored for half an hour if all okay then get the balloon inserted then if everything ok can go home for up to 24 hours to see if anything happens. the aim is for it to dilate you enough that when you go back the next day they can just break your waters if they havent gone already

DressingGown87 · 28/10/2020 09:31

@AdventureAhead Congratulations only your little boy! Hope your both recovery well x

@AdventureAhead
Huge congrats! Hope you and baby are doing well! Only a tiny bit jealous that you went into labour on your due date haha mine was yesterday and I was so hopeful but nope!

Freddie1987 · 28/10/2020 10:16

@1990shopefulftm thank you, you're right, I'm trying to stay strong as I've done a lot of reading around being overdue and the risks. As I'm a low risk pregnancy, I'd rather wait until I'm 14 days over but obviously I might feel differently by next Wednesday so just trying to take it one day at a time at the moment!

@DressingGown87 thanks as well and yes, it's so important to trust your body isn't it. To be honest, yesterday I had a feeling I hadn't even started dilating yet. By my original due date I'm only two days over now anyway (whereas by hospital I am 5 days over) and I haven't had any real signs yet so I just think he's going to be a bit later...

@60sPony due date was Friday 23rd and that's great to hear you had a positive induction, I may well message you closer to the date if it ends up happening - thanks :)

@krissy12 Oh that sounds good, I'll definitely look into that and see if my hospital offers it! Thanks!

@AdventureAhead wow, bang on due date, that's amazing! Congratulations and hope you're both recovering well xx

1990shopefulftm · 28/10/2020 10:35

@Freddie1987 my due date was moved to 4 days earlier, perhaps the hospitals have gotten out dates wrong?

Got my sweep this afternoon, think I might cry if the midwife says my cervix is closed.

Freddie1987 · 28/10/2020 10:47

@1990shopefulftm yes probably, I mean its all a guestimation really isn't it!! Good luck for later, cry if you need to, I feel a lot better today after allowing myself to feel down yesterday. Midwife has also rang and managed to get me a second sweep attempt at a different hospital on Friday too so if it doesn't work this time try and get another booked in after 48 hours. Fingers crossed for you 🤞

@Freddie1987 & @1990shopefulftm my due date was also moved forward! I worked out he was due the 26th but the hospital decided on the 22nd!

Good luck for your sweep later @1990shopefulftm I have mine booked for tomorrow! Thanks

FirstSurprise001 · 28/10/2020 11:08

41 weeks today and I’ve just lost my mucus plug!!!!!!!! You have no idea after a week of no twinges or signs how happy that’s made me. Even did a little happy dance on the toilet haha.

Trying not to get my hopes up too much that it means he’ll be on his way any time soon but just so so so happy that something is happening!

FirstSurprise001 · 28/10/2020 11:09

Good luck for your sweep today @1990shopefulftm - have everything crossed for you!
