@FirstSurprise001
It really does! And people keep saying to me 'not long now', which I'm beginning to find really irritating because I am aware of that but it feels like it's never going to happen haha, these last few weeks/days/hours seem to be passing in slow motion 😂

1990shopefulftm · 26/10/2020 09:50

@Mc3209 @CurlyMummy1912 good luck ladies

krissy12 · 26/10/2020 10:13

just came across the new thread.... congratulations ladies on all your babies so exciting

still no baby here have midwife today and hoping for a sweep fingers crossed

Strawberries4days · 26/10/2020 10:21

Good luck @Mc3209 and @CurlyMummy1912 wishing you all the best!💐

CurlyMummy1912 · 26/10/2020 10:36

Thanks everyone! Been monitored which shows regular tightenings and examination shows I'm 2cm dilated. Doctor on the way to speak to me to decide what to do. Ridiculous that my elective is booked tomorrow!

Freddie1987 · 26/10/2020 10:37

Good luck today ladies, hope you're both doing alright!!

I'm resigning myself to the fact that I'll probably have a November baby at this rate hah, although it's the second full moon on Halloween (if anyone else believes in that sort of stuff) so I'm hoping that might spur things on!

1990shopefulftm · 26/10/2020 10:46

@Freddie1987 I m feeling the same, feels like they re too comfortable in there.

I m hopefully having a sweep on Wednesday afternoon but if they can't do it then they wouldn't try again for a week which would be less than 2 days before I d get an induction depending on the wards bookings.
I m wondering if I can try to convince them to book me in at the antenatal clinic to try later in the week again if they can't do it first time or whether there's no point asking.

FirstSurprise001 · 26/10/2020 10:46

@Freddie1987 when are you/were you due? It’s my anniversary on Halloween so it’s probably a guarantee that mine will come then 😂

Spending far too much time refreshing this forum for news 🙈

Sls668 · 26/10/2020 11:17

Is everybody having a sweep when offered one? I can have one at my appointment next Monday if I want but can’t decide. I just feel like she’ll come on her own when she’s ready and if she isn’t ready it won’t make a difference. Interested to see what others are thinking about it

LadyB90 · 26/10/2020 11:31

@Sls668
I know what you mean, I was thinking of asking them to examine me and then make a decision depending on how dilated my cervix is. I think you have to be a certain amount of cms dilated for them to do one anyway? I'm not totally sure haha.

1990shopefulftm · 26/10/2020 12:01

@Sls668 yes I'm going to accept a sweep if they can do one at my appointment on Wednesday when i ll be 40+2.
I know if I end up having an induction i m going to be so annoyed with myself if I hadn't tried everything I could before then. Midwife told me it's 50/50 odds of a sweep helping at 40 weeks which doesn't seem too bad.

@LadyB90 i think you have to be 1cm dilated for them to try a sweep.

sophs29 · 26/10/2020 12:04

@Sls668 I'm booked in for one this Thursday when I'll be 41 weeks so I'm going to accept it just purely because I'm so uncomfortable and impatient! 😂 I've also heard it will only be successful if your body is ready anyway so I don't see the harm! But I am hoping he will make an appearance before then!

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt · 26/10/2020 12:27

I have a sweep booked for 40+4 (only bloody appointment they had free)...
I really hope I don't need it!

Sls668 · 26/10/2020 12:44

@LadyB90 @1990shopefulftm @sophs29 @Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt yes I did read somewhere you do have to have already started dilating so your body is already on the way. I don’t feel too uncomfortable at the moment but by this time next week I might be ready to try anything to get her out!

roarfeckingroarr · 26/10/2020 12:49

Hello everyone,

Checking in, we're on day 9 here and the little sod cutie only sleeps on me at night. Pregnancy feels a life time ago, as does the birth. It's definitely true what they say about you forgetting how bad it was (if it was bad, hoping you all have positive experiences).

Best of luck for all the sweeps coming up. Don't be disheartened if midwife says your cervix is closed. Mine did and contractions started at 3am the next morning.

CurlyMummy1912 · 26/10/2020 20:11

Had baby girl and she is in neonatal recovering as she needs some help with her breathing. I'm on ward resting. Xx

sophs29 · 26/10/2020 20:25

Oh congratulations @CurlyMummy1912 wishing you both all the best Thanks

1990shopefulftm · 26/10/2020 20:28

@CurlyMummy1912 congratulations, hope baby girl is back with you soon

SamK93 · 26/10/2020 20:32

@CurlyMummy1912 congratulations! I hope your labour and delivery went well. Update us with how baby girl is doing and in the meantime get some well needed rest x

CurlyMummy1912 · 26/10/2020 21:55

I still haven't even touched her so it doesn't feel like she's mine yet. (Born at 3pm and now it's 10pm)

Just expressed 8ml of colostrum for her though and about to go down and see her xxx

Mc3209 · 26/10/2020 22:41

Baby boy Rafa is here, born at 5pm by C section. Long story short - big baby, was offered section for the size and I accepted. As I was already in labour with waters broken, it was done as emergency. He fed straight away and just now trying to snooze. I will try to get a bit of sleep too.

SamK93 · 26/10/2020 23:02

Congratulations on baby Rafa @Mc3209 sounds like you've done amazingly well, hope you get some rest xx

Eep2020 · 27/10/2020 02:17

Hi everyone congratulations on your babies! I wrote on the first thread months ago for October babies but then lurked on and off since, especially the last few weeks leading up to due date of yesterday! Hope you don't mind me joining this late again.

My waters went at 2330 but no contractions (just odd BH), into triage, yes definitely broken, stretch and sweep, they've booked me in for induction tomorrow night if nothing happens through the day which MW seemed to think would definitley happen today fingers crossed!!!

I'm too excited to sleep even though I know I should rest! Grin

CurlyMummy1912 · 27/10/2020 02:31

Baby Georgia in my arms and feeding so well! Xx

sophs29 · 27/10/2020 07:40

Congratulations @Mc3209 and so glad you're having cuddles @CurlyMummy1912
Good luck with it @Eep2020 SmileThanks
