@Flora20

Hm, I'm due tomorrow and thought last night that today would be the day... Sadly not! Can't believe I'm still pregnant, my daughter was almost 3 weeks old by this point 😂
Like you I've never been this pregnant! Surprised not to have had the same cook time! 🤣🤣
Freddie1987 · 22/10/2020 14:09

Is anyone else getting the pestering texts yet? I've had a 'happy due date!' one today (it's tomorrow for a start 😅) I know people mean well but gahhhh so annoying!!

1990shopefulftm · 22/10/2020 14:36

Fortunately not had any pestering messages yet.

I've been for a longish walk today and thought I had what could be a contraction whilst walking and then it stopped completely, i m trying to do some things round the house today so I stop lying on the sofa feeling really impatient.

Mc3209 · 22/10/2020 14:42

@Freddie1987 yeah, the "how are you doing? How are things?" texts are starting to come in from work colleagues. Getting quite annoying.

sophs29 · 22/10/2020 15:33

Haha @Freddie1987 my MIL who will be looking after my DS when I go in (so she'll be the first to know anyway) keeps messaging "is he on his way" 😒 - obviously not love as you'd be first to know 😂
today she messaged "is he popping out today" Urghhhh 😂

FirstSurprise001 · 22/10/2020 16:28

@Freddie1987 yes 🙃🙄 I had 12 yesterday on my due date and then a further two messaged me today asking if I’d had any twinges. It’s like people don’t realise babies don’t have a ‘cooked’ button that goes off and they pop out!

SamK93 · 22/10/2020 17:36

Ladies don't bother replying to people, just send these 😂

@SamK93 loving those memes 😂

Freddie1987 · 22/10/2020 21:44

Haha oh dear, kind of glad I'm not the only one then!! My sis in law text earlier saying baby boy should hurry up, errrr, he's not even late yet 🙄 ...this is exactly why I've only told a handful of people my actual due date!!

Those memes are brilliant 😅

5 today "been thinking of you...how are you feeling?" aka "have you had her yet?" Xx
CurlyMummy1912 · 22/10/2020 22:33

The memes are brilliant!!

I just had a bath with candles lit. The candles were not for relaxation or atmosphere. They were for dealing with my gas! #pregnantlife

Mc3209 · 22/10/2020 22:56

@CurlyMummy1912 jacuzzi then 😂

WaveStreet · 22/10/2020 23:37

What's everyone planning to bring baby home in in terms of layers? I haven't got a specific 'going home' outfit, I just don't want him to be cold.

How is colostrum collecting going for those doing it? Not sure how much I'm supposed to be collecting!

I've got vest, baby gro, cardigan, hat and scratch mitts with a blanket over the top for baby.

12 ml at the mo in 12 1ml syringes. Probably more than enough but it's so much fun doing it I will prob do a bit more! X

1990shopefulftm · 23/10/2020 04:06

@WaveStreet I ve packed a vest, baby grow, trousers, t shirt and a fleecy cardigan with a blanket. We ll be less than a mile from home so not too worried about it just hopefully not windy.

Went to sleep for a bit tonight with what I thought could be more than Braxton Hicks but still bearable, woken up and its completely stopped . I m starting to wonder if I m going to end up having a long latent labour perhaps.

Mc3209 · 23/10/2020 08:25

@WaveStreet i've got vest, baby grow, cardigan, cotton hat and a star wrap if needed.

Re colostrum, I've only done 3ml (in syringes) so far... Might do more. It's coming a lot easier now, was a bit of a jobbie at the beginning.

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt · 23/10/2020 09:12

Vest, babygro, cardi, hat and blanket. We'll be in the car so won't be cold.

I've been having period pains on and off the last 24hrs with a bit of nipple twinge, just keep thinking it's all a good sign and hopefully means things are thinning out and prepping for birth soon

Flora20 · 23/10/2020 09:40

Standard outfit for the first few weeks will be vest, babygrow, thin jumper, hat, socks if in the sling and a blanket if in the pram.

Now had a second night of thinking something was starting but come the morning... Nothing. Got a midwife appointment this lunchtime, the walk and from there might be enough to trigger it (uphill all the way back, it'll take me ages 😂)

Flora20 · 23/10/2020 09:40

There and back, that should have said...

SamK93 · 23/10/2020 09:53

Hi ladies I hope your all well and hanging in there! It won't be too long now.
Noah is 15 days old today already!
As you know I love my memes, this is what I am answering back to everybody who asks how I'm sleeping 🙄

FirstSurprise001 · 23/10/2020 10:21

@SamK93 love that one! Hope you’re enjoying every minute with your little boy!

Went for my 40 + 2 midwife appointment this morning. His head is still ‘free’ so they can’t even do an internal examination let alone a sweep. Booked me in for an induction and just left feeling really upset at the thought of being on my own in the hospital being induced for so long. 10 more days for him to try to make his own appearance now! Any tips?

GhostWorld · 23/10/2020 10:53

I just got in the shower and I feel like my waters broke.. it felt like I was weeing and then it stopped feeling like that but liquid was still coming out (sorry tmi). I've got out of the shower and put in a pad, would you contact the hospital now or wait for a bit and see if I feel anything else?

BS9790 · 23/10/2020 11:12

@GhostWorld, no experience but I would wait an hour. I think they say to lay down and then stand up and see if there's a "drip" (or gush) onto the pad.
Then you might know for sure by then, and if you're still not sure then I'd deffo phone in an hour or so regardless... Best to be checked than not 😊

GhostWorld · 23/10/2020 11:38

@bs9790 thanks for your response that's what I was thinking I just wanted someone to agree haha

Catch some of the liquid in a clear container whilst sitting on the loo. If it looks like wee and smells like wee, it's probably wee. If it's fairly clear with bits of white (vernix) in and smells very different to wee...more like sperm then it's amniotic fluid xx
