I've just got back from my midwife appointment and she could only feel the tip of head and wrote down 1/5 palpable. (Explains the extreme pressure down below!)

Baby is in a good position and not transverse like I thought.

While she was feeling baby I had some big tightenings which she said was a good sign. 🤞🤞

GhostWorld · 19/10/2020 17:32

I've downloaded the Mumsnet app as I'm not using my laptop daily anymore, does anyone know how to tag people?

@roar.. that sounds like heaven I can't wait to sleep comfortably! Did the aches and pains disappear pretty quickly?
I've been designing a cheese board in my head for the last few weeks, its definitely going to be my first post birth treat!

I'm also symptom spotting, baby is definitely moving differently now, its not like they're kicks they're like pushes haha, my bump is very hard and then there is a little permanent heel/knee sticking out my side!

Mc3209 · 19/10/2020 17:33

@BS9790 the less of the head is palpable the more baby's head is engaged (so 4/5 engaged = 1/5 palpable = means most of the head is in the pelvis).

BS9790 · 19/10/2020 18:24

@Mc3209 oh I was confused because my notes say
5/5 is free
4/5 means just sitting on the brim
... Up to 1/5 is fully engaged.

Which would mean 4/5 was less engaged than 3/5 🤔 anyway, it doesn't really matter does it haha...

Either way... Still no baby on the way 😂😂

Flora20 · 19/10/2020 18:34

@BS9790 The midwives round here don't bother with the 1/5-5/5 thing which I'm happy with as numbers just confuse me... Mine just says the head is well down and sooner or later it will be out 😂 Sooner, hopefully...

@roarfeckingroarr Living the dream! Really glad you're all happy and in love ♥️ The champagne probably helps!

@DressingGown87 Hope you two are getting on ok today! X

BS9790 · 19/10/2020 18:45

@Flora20, I like that! I would prefer sooner too 🤣

roarfeckingroarr · 19/10/2020 19:25

@GhostWorld all aches and pains left as soon as he was out. I even feel emotionally like myself again!

I slept the deepest sleep for 4 hours before baby woke to feed last night. Was awesome. I know night feeds will add up, but my sleep quality was so poor for the final months of pregnancy I feel way more refreshed on less.

Not having a big hard achey bump is great.

roarfeckingroarr · 19/10/2020 19:26

I'm so excited for everyone to meet their babies!

Sls668 · 19/10/2020 21:57

I was at the midwife today and baby isn’t engaged at all so feeling jealous of all of those heading in the right direction (quite literally!)

Amiz · 19/10/2020 22:31

Feeling quite emotional now, being induced today and they took ages to put in the pessary and said they'd examine in 6 hrs which turned more into 7.5 and then although I'm having bigger contractions im not dilating so have to wait another 4hrs to see what happens :( . I just want to get on with this now

ChlOeWh · 20/10/2020 00:07

Hi ladies, I won't go into the ins and outs but my beautiful little girl was born at 7:35pm and she's just perfect 🥰 have to stay in due to blood loss but other than that, everything is amazing! 💕

Strawberries4days · 20/10/2020 04:54

Ah haven't commented on this post in ages.
Awww congratulations @ChlOeWh rest up and enjoy those cuddles🥰 And huge congratulations to everyone else whose also had their babies, actually jealous!

Been diagnosed with OC after weeks of testing. Itchy fingers got them all stumped but acid levels just went up and down so safer to be induced and hopefully the itch will go away once she's born. Currently staying in hospital after having the balloon induction. Was hoping it'll fall out by now but I think this baby isn't going anywhere any time soon! Been on the ball and walked around but nothingSad

1990shopefulftm · 20/10/2020 05:18

@ChlOeWh congratulations :)

@Strawberries4days I hope baby decides to get a move on for you soon and you see an improvement in your itching.

I got tested for OC yesterday and they are confident I don't have it, it's my 3rd night of bad itching and it's getting me down a bit as it's likely a pupps rash it should go soon after baby arrives, but I just feel demotivated that it could be 18/19 days more of this before I d get an induction started.

Strawberries4days · 20/10/2020 05:47

@1990shopefulftm ohh that sounds so sore. It does get you down at times, I've had a few cries cause my hands look horrific now and the only way to get rid of it is to have the baby really! Hope those 18/19 days to quickly for you or they push it forward 💐

Mc3209 · 20/10/2020 08:11

@ChlOeWh congratulations!! That's excellent news! Rest up and enjoy all the cuddles 🥰
@Strawberries4days sending you plenty of energy and good wishes for your induction.

I am still firmly pregnant and no signs of anything happening. Taking this time to maximise nap time.

I am retaining a lot of water, my face has changed shape in the last 3 weeks or so, now looks super round and puffy (I mean, I have cheeks normally, but now I am looking like a crazy hamster with permanently puffy eyes. What a joy). I am not even talking about sausage fingers. And apparently I started snoring quite badly in the night! My poor DH.

SamK93 · 20/10/2020 08:49

Congratulations @ChlOeWh
I hope everyone else is doing well ❤️
Currently surviving on 2 hours sleep, but he's worth it.

Freddie1987 · 20/10/2020 08:58

@ChlOeWh yeyy Congratulations!! Hope you're feeling ok after your first night.

@Strawberries4days best of luck for today and hope things progress smoothly, exciting!

@Mc3209 I'm the same, my face is like an actual pancake 😂

I wonder how many of us on the thread are still pregnant, is it over half still?...

Sls668 · 20/10/2020 12:27

@Freddie1987 I think I’ll be on the ‘pregnant list’ for another few weeks 😂

60sPony · 20/10/2020 13:35

🙋🏼‍♀️ Me, I’m still on the still pregnant list! Doesn’t feel like anything is happening anytime soon.... due a week Thursday

1990shopefulftm · 20/10/2020 13:45

@Freddie1987 I think it's over half of us to go.
I m married to an optimist so whenever I tell him I have X possible symptom, my DH keeps getting hopeful so I should probably stop saying anything.

CurlyMummy1912 · 20/10/2020 13:58

@ChlOeWh amazing! Congratulations!! Xx

CurlyMummy1912 · 20/10/2020 13:59

@Mc3209 hey sausage fingers! I'm just the same and can only wear flip flops as I'm so puffy!!

CurlyMummy1912 · 20/10/2020 14:01

@1990shopefulftm this made me laugh! I've never been with an optimist for very long. How lovely! I can't imagine my partner ever being like that. He's a realist to the point of me getting very frustrated with him!! 😆😆

1990shopefulftm · 20/10/2020 14:05

@CurlyMummy1912 I can be very pessimistic in some situations so we balance each other out quite well :)
