@Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt yes mine is very solid, midwife has said it's all baby.

Flora20 · 18/10/2020 19:48

@Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt Yep, rock solid. Uncomfortably so most of the time! Lots of movements still but I don't know how there's any room in there...

Currently sitting on my ball with a pint of raspberry leaf tea 😂

Freddie1987 · 18/10/2020 19:59

@1990shopefulftm yep same, and been feeling like I've had permanent mild period cramp and lower back pain all day...but nothing else to suggest it's progressing into anything!

1990shopefulftm · 18/10/2020 20:04

@Freddie1987 it's difficult not to have hope that a symptom might be the start of labour
I m trying to keep reminding myself that only half of ftms have their babies before their due date so that it probably doesn't mean anything yet.

CurlyMummy1912 · 18/10/2020 20:13

@Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt

Anyone else got a rock hard bump? Lots of movement still, just feels so uncomfortable!

YES!!!!

BS9790 · 18/10/2020 22:02

My bump is rock solid too, except the bottom right which is squishy! 🙈

My movements have changed again recently, they're much more gentle now and I have to really concentrate to feel them. Mostly I just get a pushing feeling when he must be stretching.

No signs here... Was 2cm with regular tightenings almost 2 weeks ago, not even a twinge since! I really want him to come before my csection date 😟

BS9790 · 19/10/2020 09:04

Anyone got sickness back in these final weeks?
Feel awful, heads thumping, nausea and sickness.

Wondering if it's pg related or not. Fairly sure it can't be a bug as I've only left the house for my hospital appointments. I've got bloods today, not sure if I should still go or cancel them...

Freddie1987 · 19/10/2020 09:10

@1990shopefulftm yes exactly that, I even have a best friend who is a midwife who is constantly reminding me of that fact and I still keep second guessing! Just think, you will have a baby in a few weeks no matter what! I'm currently writing a to-do list today to try and keep me busy and distracted 😆

@BS9790 As nausea isn't a Covid symptom I'd still go if I were you, I've definitely had some mild nausea and less of an appetite in the last week too. I think it's meant to be a good sign even though it's annoying!

1990shopefulftm · 19/10/2020 09:13

@BS9790 give them a call to ask to be sure.

After doing my best not to leave the house before my due date, after 2 days of very itchy skin and being paranoid it's not just pupps, spoke to midwife who sent me down to triage.

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt · 19/10/2020 09:32

Symptom spotting like a crazy person. I have really bad lower back pain today. Couldn't sleep for it. Plus baby has dropped so much I've got some lovely new stretch marks. I've got a midwife appointment today, gonna ask about positioning as I've a horrible feeling he's lying transverse after weeks of being engaged!

CurlyMummy1912 · 19/10/2020 09:44

@BS9790 I have mild nausea and my appetite has changed also.

Sleeping is so uncomfortable. Makes me laugh when people suggest you get lots of sleep before the baby comes! Haha! Yeah. Ok...!

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt · 19/10/2020 09:54

Honestly, I don't remember being quite so uncomfortable and sleep deprived with my first. Granted my bump is a fair bit bigger, and I'm obvs a bit older but seriously, it's awful. Get out of ma belllllyyyyy

1990shopefulftm · 19/10/2020 10:00

@Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt hopefully baby's not transverse, I ve got a lot of stretch marks low down on my bump but baby is definitely in an engaged position.

Got in and out of triage within 15 minutes, waiting at home for my blood results now as they just wanted to be sure I don't have obstetric cholestasis, I m 39 weeks today and this was my first unplanned visit to the hospital so keeping my fingers crossed that it's just me being paranoid and that this awful itching stops soon.

roarfeckingroarr · 19/10/2020 10:11

Very good point by @CurlyMummy1912 - it's not standard to get the rush of love straight away. I had a rough pregnancy emotionally and was scared I wouldn't bond with baby at all. This is a wonderful surprise.

Hes discovered he has lungs and likes to feed every two hours! How's everyone else doing?

You know what is amazing? Not being pregnant anymore!! Sleeping deeply and easily (if not for more than two hours at a time). I had a glass of champagne with some decent cheese and a take away pizza last night.

CurlyMummy1912 · 19/10/2020 11:04

@roarfeckingroarr champagne!? Omg I can't wait to drink!!!!!!

roarfeckingroarr · 19/10/2020 13:08

Yeah FIL drove over from France with supplies of champagne, red wine, pâté and blue cheese 😁😁😁.

CurlyMummy1912 · 19/10/2020 13:51

Omg ALL my favourite things! YUM!

Currently feeling very weird and sick. Would love to think it's a sign of labour but I doubt it very much. My legs hurt just from carrying my own weight. Urgh.

FirstSurprise001 · 19/10/2020 15:36

@roarfeckingroarr champagne and cheese sounds incredible right now! The deep sleep comment really got me - I bet you’re relishing the sleeping on your back and belly too! 😫

Just got back from a pregnancy massage, so incredible, so sleepy and planning an afternoon on the sofa watching a movie. Hope you’re all okay 💕

Sls668 · 19/10/2020 16:04

Does anybody else feel like midwife appointments are a massive anticlimax? Our system is good and I have a regular midwife (although I just got a new one as mine has moved) so it’s not an issue with the midwives, they’re lovely. I just feel like I never have anything to ask or say. I know I should be grateful as everything is always well with baby but they are really boring appointments 😂

Love hearing everyone’s new baby stories and stories of not being pregnant anymore. I’m mostly looking forward to sleeping on my front (without this bloody backache!), eating Parma ham and pate and having drinks at Christmas!

BS9790 · 19/10/2020 16:10

@CurlyMummy1912, I'm the same today. Took myself back to bed for a lie down this afternoon... Very unlike me. I feel sick and my bump is really tight and sore.

Baby was really active this morning after a few quieter days, but has calmed down now.
I'm so ready to have this baby now!!

Midwife said I was 3/5 palpable... What does this mean?? Does anyone know?

I haven't missed drink at all, but can't wait for a rare steak, parma ham and brie! 😋

Mc3209 · 19/10/2020 16:15

@BS9790 that means you are 2/5 engaged (ie she can feel 3/5th).

1990shopefulftm · 19/10/2020 16:17

@sls668 yes until today I ve never had to ask a midwife something. I rang triage this morning as the wallet my notes is in mentions itching as a warning symptom but it's the first problem I ve really wanted to speak to someone about for the whole pregnancy, everything's come back normal but they were lovely and understanding as to why I d want to get checked out.

@BS9790 it means babies head down in your pelvis

CurlyMummy1912 · 19/10/2020 16:50

@Sls668 yes! It's worse when that's your only outing of the week! (I'm all locked down so that when I go for pre-op covid test I'm clear so that my partner can come in) so when I go anywhere it's like I can't get enough social interaction! 😂😂

CurlyMummy1912 · 19/10/2020 16:51

@BS9790 hope you're feeling better xx

BS9790 · 19/10/2020 16:57

@Mc3209, is that a good thing? I thought 2/5 was pretty much fully engaged? And 4/5 is not engaged? Is that correct?
