@Safxxx Had my scan today and it all went wonderfully thank you! Even if the lady who did the scan did have to get me to empty my bladder twice and the little bugger still wouldn’t uncurl properly!
Good luck for everyone else having scans soon x
Also I’m another one to recommend window to the womb, we did an 8 week one with them and it was worth every penny, such a nice place!

Safxxx · 27/07/2020 22:36

@Piccalily19 Awe that's wonderful news all went well ❤ wow how much did you drink to have to empty your bladder twice 🤣🤣 my worst worry is drinking to have my bladder full for the scan and last minute bursting to go toilet 😂 (Yes it's happened before) I would drink most morning only to go toilet before appt, then I had to sit in waiting room drinking more 🙄 you already Nick naming the baby? Little bugger lol (Bless him/her) 😍

Muriel84 · 28/07/2020 07:58

@Piccalily19 awww that’s lovely! I am so impressed at your bladder control! My window to the womb scan felt quite rushed, and the fact I was in agony trying not to pee myself didn’t help!! Even pre pregnancy my bladder was rubbish.

Good luck today @babydust2412 ! Hope you get a lovely photo!

NotOnlyCatMum · 28/07/2020 10:20

Hi guys!
Welcome to the newbies!
Great news @Piccalily19, and good luck to all who have scans this week.
I had mine today, baby was very active but was always moving in the wrong direction for measurements :) But all went well, nothing was found which could cause worry. There was a trainee sonographer in the room, so heard a lot of info as the senior explained her.
Apparently no-one goes with 'perfect' bladder, it depends on the mum's body, so full bladder works for some, half-full for others, and even empty one can work for the lucky ones.

babydust2412 · 28/07/2020 10:44

@Piccalily19 @NotOnlyCatMum

@NotOnlyCatMum aww it must have been lovely to see your bean so active! Were they not able to do nuchal translucency? Will you have to go back?

@babydust2412 apologies I got the day wrong! 🙈 congrats on finishing your first trimester! Third of the way there!

babydust2412 · 28/07/2020 11:13

@Muriel84 don't apologise it's ok ❤️ I will update you tomorrow after the scan xx

@NotOnlyCatMum glad all went well ❤

NotOnlyCatMum · 28/07/2020 11:34

Thanks!
They got all measurements done in the end, but I had to walk around and roll on my sides a couple of times, it felt like I spent ages there.

OnNaturesCourse · 28/07/2020 12:41

Sorry to jump on, and I promise to catch up with you all on here and read the messages, but just quickly had anyone had a dull achy muscle feeling across their lower tummy?

I'm wondering if things are stretching. I kinda remember it from my first but maybe not this early. If I roll or stretch in bed it's like pulling a muscle too.

babydust2412 · 28/07/2020 12:58

@OnNaturesCourse yes I've had this since about week 7 or 8 on and off, it's likely just your uterus stretching and growing ❤️

Muriel84 · 28/07/2020 13:30

@OnNaturesCourse me too. Comes and goes. Some days are worse than others. Went for a week and then came back over the weekend.

Safxxx · 28/07/2020 14:45

@OnNaturesCourse yes I've had them from earlier on till now, I guess it's stretching pains. Don't worry about it it's normal. Xx

WobblyNurse · 28/07/2020 16:50

Hello Ladies,
Congratulations!! We are 11 weeks tomorrow which puts our EDD 17.2.21. we have had not such a lucky past but hopefully the miscarriages are in the past. We had a scan at nearly 8 weeks and our next scan is next week. I'm slightly upset that people can get tattoos and go for a meal but my husband can't see his unborn baby growing...
My symptoms have not been fabulous, sickness is constant with fluids being a main culprit as well as travelling as I'm pregnant I have to drive to work and 1.5hour drive means I will be sick on the way , hopefully it will calm down soon, I'm a nurse in a surgery and all the different smells are not helping, trying to do a smear test and throwing up in a mask is not a situation I want to be in again...(my work are being very very unsupportive. Wanting proof I'm pregnant and asking me to do a pregnancy test) so I'm trying to not take too much time off, all I keep thinking is my hormones are rising so the sickness is a good sign. Constipation has been literally a pain in the back side which doesn't help the sickness, along with a complaint a few of you ladies have had with congestion. I have found although so far this pregnancy has been very hard with symptoms and tiredness that I am alot more positive this time around with literally analysing everything from round ligament pain to nausea that it's a sign that we are growing a little human.
Working full time and doing my master's along side which will be finished a fortnight before this little human is born, perfect timing.
I completely agree that the first trimester is really plodding along so so slowly.

WobblyNurse · 28/07/2020 16:53

It's called round ligament pain. It's where the body and ligaments are stretching in ways we never use them ligaments. It's a really good sign that the baby is growing and the womb is growing 🤰🏼
I get sharp pains especially when I sneeze or cough.

EssJayyCee · 28/07/2020 16:55

Hi everyone!

I am due 14th February! I am currently 11 weeks+2.

I had tiredness and breathlessness tender boobs and increased vaginal discharge until 9 weeks.

Now I only have tender boobs.

I don't even feel pregnant right now.
I have no firmness or a bump or anything remotely telling me I am pregnant. Other than my boobs.

I had a MC in january so I am petrified I have had a MMC this time too.

I had a scan at 7weeks+6 and baby's heart was beating away.

But I can't help thinking something is wrong :(

I have my 12 week scan on Friday but I am so bloody nervous!

Anyone else got little-no symptoms or firmness in stomach etc?

WobblyNurse · 28/07/2020 17:00

Hi again ladies,
I just wanted a general answer to people's choices and how their midwife was towards the nuchal screening decision. My husband and I have decided not to have the screening. The midwife was very shocked by this and made me seem like I was crazy for not taking this screening.
We have decided not to have the screening because it wouldn't change our outcome of the pregnancy so we want to keep our risk of miscarriage as low as possible. What ever we have made together will be perfect. As a nurse and as a mum to be, I can completely see why people would want the screening, every ones choices and reasons are personal to them and have a meaning. I was just shocked at how the midwife reacted.

Safxxx · 28/07/2020 17:49

@wobblyNurse congrats ❤ wow you sound like a superwoman, working full time plus doing your masters, on top of that the symptoms your going thru. Awe I hope things become easier for You, atleast I hope your sickness eases off or disappears. I have never agreed to screen tests, I've had 3 healthy babies in the past and hopefully this time it will be fine too. Good luck with everything hope all goes well. Xxx

Safxxx · 28/07/2020 17:54

@EssJayyCee maybe your symptoms have eased off, I'm sure they will return again. If your very worried maybe do a pregnancy test at home to put your mind at ease. I hope all goes well for You, and you go on to have a healthy baby. XXX

Piccalily19 · 28/07/2020 18:48

@Safxxx the lady doing the scan said I probably have super efficient kidneys (score! 😂) i probably drank around a pint-pint and a half as recommended just before I left and after a good wee so nothing crazy! I remember drinking around a pint before my 8 week private scan just in case I needed to (was internal in the end so no need) and I needed to wee so badly I genuinely would have peed myself had anyone even touched my stomach.
@EssJayyCee I think it was around week 9/10 for me that every minor symptom I had disappeared, but a set of different symptoms came back about a week later so you’re not the only one!

babydust2412 · 28/07/2020 18:48

@EssJayyCee try not to worry too much ❤️ my symptoms eased at around 11 weeks too because they come and go as your hormones fluctuate and approaching 12 weeks your body starts to adjust to everything so for most women symptoms ease up a bit. I've only really had sore boobs and tiredness from weeks 11 to 13 so try not to worry ❤️ I'm sure your scan on Friday will be great and you'll be reassured from that 😊 update us afterward x

@babydust2412 great news! :)

babydust2412 · 29/07/2020 12:21

I'm high risk for preclampsia though so have to take aspirin until 36 weeks, baby is very very low risk for any genetic abnormalities so that's amazing ❤️
