Everything varies so much by hospital! @Stef92 I didn’t request ask for anything, they just booked me in for the fetal dna blood test to check it’s blood group. I’d not even heard of it before. I assumed I’d have anti d x x x

Safxxx · 09/10/2020 22:04

@bluang31 that's not good, surely you deserve more care till you leave. Maybe go thru your GP who might be able to refer you to the midwifes. Goodluck hope all goes well Xxx

Char41zam · 09/10/2020 23:51

@bluang3l welcome to the pink club! Congrats, I have only seen my midwife once too she has not been interested as I get seen by the hospital, it’s not great care at all! I did get the whooping cough vaccine at the hospital when I was there for one of my appointments otherwise I would be the same as you and not have had it yet x

Muriel84 · 10/10/2020 07:36

@bluang3l that’s really bad, you need your check ups. I’m at university college London and so have no named midwife too. But they’re really responsive when I phone/email. My 16 week check was over the phone and there wasn’t much to it.

Another terrible nights sleep. Now getting shooting pains down the outside of my left leg when I lie on it, making my ankle spasm during the night. Side sleeping is just impossible. I keep giving up. I don’t know how I’ll sleep during the third trimester. 😣 advice from physio seems to just be you must sleep on your side and your hips will hurt. X x x

Safxxx · 10/10/2020 09:51

@Muriel84 I'm going thru backache and pelvic pains. At times the backache causes some pain in buttocks and leg... I've always been a side sleeper, but feel so uncomfortable with these symptoms. I've now got a thin duvet and put it on mattress, giving bit more cushioned support... and use 2 pillow to sleep on. It's helped alittle but I have my good/bad days.
Hope your symptoms ease of soon, not easy being a mother ehhh Xxx

Muriel84 · 10/10/2020 09:58

@Safxxx it’s rubbish isn’t it. I feel so grumpy! I will try the thin duvet trick the physio suggested that too. Already sleeping with a pillow in front, one behind and a v pillow, sometimes with another pillow on top of that! I usually sleep with one flat pillow! Xxx

Safxxx · 10/10/2020 11:51

@Muriel84 yep need to do what ever makes the symptoms bearable.
My whole stomache area feels tight and tender too, I'm always on guard that no one touches me or bumps into me, my 8yr old when he has a tantrum he threatens to get to the bump....oh my days!
I push hubby away too can't stand being physical as it's a all over round pain just want to be left alone at times.... I'm dreading the 3rd timester too, as it will only get worse 😓

Vee1502 · 10/10/2020 17:17

@Safxxx @Muriel84 ah sorry ladies it's been so uncomfortable for you, hope you feel better soon! ❤️ Has the pregnancy pillow not been much help? I keep going back and forth between if I want to get it or not but have been able to manage with a fluffy pillow tucked between my knees so far.

Is anyone here familiar with Queen Elizabeth hospital in Lewisham/ Woolwich? I was wondering how the delivery experience is over there. So far my care has been really good and I have been getting adequate attention from my consultant and been booked in for scans every 4 weeks as they suspect I may have a blood coagulation condition. I have to take aspirin and Clexane injections every day to manage it, and the frequent scans and consultant appointments are to monitor if the medication is working adequately. However, I haven't heard very encouraging things about their delivery/labour ward services, hence trying to get more information on that.

Muriel84 · 10/10/2020 17:27

@Safxxx omg your 8 year old! I haven’t really thought about the fact the baby will grow into a child and have tantrums! My stomach is sore again today. Makes baby’s movements and needing the loo quite uncomfortable. Also nauseous. Back on the crisps and fizzy orange. Seems to happen every week or so for a day.

@Vee1502 I bought a v shaped pillow but it’s going flat and not that good. Also been sleeping with a pillow between my legs. I’ve given in and bought a stupidly expensive pregnancy pillow on Amazon today cos I had a voucher and I’m fed up! Xxx

Safxxx · 10/10/2020 19:43

@Vee1502 Thankyou, I've had a V pillow for a while now, bought it from Argos at £20 For my previous pregnancy, has a nice fleece case to it and is comfy to use. I use it during these times and after birth then pack it away lol. I've bought it out few days ago it helps but symptoms are still there.
Your hospital care seems good I'm sure they will look after you thru out labour too. Poor You, that's alot you have to go thru with daily injections and aspirin. Hope the condition is managed and cured in time, and your baby is healthy and full term. Xxx

Safxxx · 10/10/2020 19:48

@Muriel84 yes my dear you have it all coming as they grow up lol
I think mines feeling abit jealous, he's playing up more these days 🙄
Hope you feel better soon, if it's not one thing it's another ehh
My constipation is getting bad again maybe that's why my stomach and sides are hurting more, so I've been taking the oral laxatives powder solution last couple of days let's see if it helps. Xxx

Muriel84 · 10/10/2020 20:42

@Safxxx yeah I think it’s the constipation that makes me feel sick. Despite eating a huge bowl of all bran every morning 🤢 I’ve taken some lactulose the GP gave me when it gets bad, but it makes me smell soooooo bad!!! 😳 does the trick pretty quick tho... xxx

Char41zam · 10/10/2020 22:04

@saf and @Muriel84 I have had terrible constipation and fresh figs have worked for me better than anything else! I get them from Aldi x

Muriel84 · 10/10/2020 22:10

@Char41zam I think I’ve been constipated since 6 weeks! 😭 I’ve tried fresh figs. Also prunes, apricots, bran flakes, pear juice, prune juice and god knows what else! If I eat a massive bowl of all bran with raspberries and lots of high fibre fruit all day I manage to keep it under control but it’s now getting bad again. Hence the lactulose! Horrible stuff... x x x

Char41zam · 10/10/2020 22:22

Yes they offered this to me at my last appointment but I am taking enough stuff with my diabetes so tired all natural remedies and found figs work best for me, it’s absolutely horrid being constipated makes you feel awful x

Safxxx · 10/10/2020 23:12

@Char41zam my aunt has a fig tree in her garden, she used to send some over, I've tried them, plus bananas and grapes, apples.....its one of them things at time it's not too bad but then it gets quite bad. I've had it since becoming pregnant.
Had it in previous pregnancies too, ended up with Hemorhoids 😣😣

babydust2412 · 10/10/2020 23:33

I've also struggled with constipation on and off throughout so far, such a pain 😩 x
My little man has been awkward today, hasn't moved much all day so I was worried but then he's been moving this evening, must have got himself into a position where I couldn't feel him moving, the little pickle 😂

OP posts:
Safxxx · 10/10/2020 23:43

@babydust2412 Awe bless him....lol little pickle 🤣🤣
Mines settled back low in pelvic area and is pressing on the bladder buttons all the time 🙄

babydust2412 · 11/10/2020 00:35

@Safxxx me too, walking without wetting myself is a challenge half the time 😂 x

OP posts:
Char41zam · 11/10/2020 12:10

@Safxxx I also have terrible piles 😔 the joys! In this pregnancy I have had every txt book symptom! Never has thrush in my life until this pregnancy, uti, constipation, heartburn, diabetes the list goes on! She will be worth it thought 🥰 mine is not a morning or day time mover much at all she is mostly night time! x

Safxxx · 11/10/2020 12:29

@Char41zam Awe poor you, I agree it will be all worth it at the end..... But for now what a pain up the backside (pun intended) 🤣🤣🤣
For your thrush, Uti eat natural yogurt more and try cranberry juice.
Mine don't have a timing he moves on he's own free will morning/afternoon/night lol but as soon as me or hubby touch the area to feel he goes into hiding... cheeky monkey.

babydust2412 · 11/10/2020 12:30

@Safxxx haha what a cheeky little one 💙 my little man has been having a party all morning so very active today 😂 xx nice and reassuring after yesterday

Char41zam · 11/10/2020 12:37

Mine is a definite night baby! I love feeling the movements it’s really reassuring like you say, I think that’s when you bond more with them too when they are moving about and you can put your hand on them! It’s going super fast though I just want to enjoy the rest of it x

Safxxx · 11/10/2020 12:59

Definetely the best part of pregnancy has to be the movements, just love the feel of them 😍

Char41zam · 11/10/2020 15:06

It’s the most special thing us women can experience Smile
