@Safxxx how are you doing? Hope everything’s ok with you! X x x

Safxxx · 03/09/2020 10:39

@Muriel84 Hi I'm ok thanks. Usually I get notifications on posts but I haven't for a while so I was assuming no one is posting lol.
I felt flutters here and there but nothing much. Can't wait for proper movements.
Hope your well 😊

Congrats to all the new ones posting hope your all well ❤

@Stef92 I think if all is well they won't see us till the 20wk scan. I had my dating scan and I've got 2 over the phone consultations next week with my midwife and a hospital call.
Usually they would call you in for these appts but I guess because of covid things have changed.
I was told to contact my midwife after my 20wk scan, Maybe they will arrange to see me after that not sure. Xxx

Safxxx · 03/09/2020 10:49

@Muriel84 My kids have gone back to school tday. House feels empty lol.
Been busy getting they're school shopping done last couple of weeks.
Feel bit anxious sending them back but hopefully they're all safe from this virus.
Schools have got lots of safety precautions around which is reassuring I suppose, but you can't help worrying. Kids need to get used to new rules too so not the same for them either. Other then that pregnancy is going well, still getting previous symptoms and bump seems to be getting bigger Lol, I had a couple of weeks where I was feeling flutters but now hardly notice them. Maybe because I've been distracted with all other symptoms 🙆‍♀️

Safxxx · 03/09/2020 10:56

@babydust2412 Hope your well, I see you have been shopping around for baby stuff. That's nice, everytime I'm in shops I'm looking out for stuff, hubby says you want it? I'm like not yet lol but some cute stuff is hard to resist but I end up resisting somehow. I think I'll give it another 3 mths before buying anything.
Need to save up for now, as been buying back to school uniform and other school stuff all adds up 🙄

Muriel84 · 03/09/2020 11:51

@Safxxx glad you’re good! I didn’t get notifications either.

It must make you anxious having your kids going back. My partner went back into the office on Tuesday and I feel anxious about that! Also finding it weird being at home alone cos I was the one going in before while he was here. I guess I’ll have to get used to that over the next year...

I’m definitely expanding too. Weird not knowing what’s going on in there, just knowing I’m getting bigger. My stomach is still all over the place. Had the worse upset stomach yesterday (soz tmi). Still feeling sicky today. Got a bit worried googling food poisoning. Never a good idea! X x x

BatmanBaby · 03/09/2020 11:54

We've bought a few baby bits - saw some lovely clothes in sainsburys that I couldn't resist!

definitely need to wait atm, as those, plus back to school bits (as someone else mentioned), and then maternity clothes all add up to a small fortune!

I'm really struggling to justify buying maternity clothes atm, as it seems such a lot to pay for 5/6 months wear!!

Safxxx · 03/09/2020 12:07

@Muriel84 haha I agree it's not a good idea googling them symptoms.
Our stomachs are way moŕe sensitive in pregnancy so we will get good/bad days it's horrible isn't it, certain food/drinks make me feel so bloated, it can be quite painful.
Yes I guess you have to get used to be working more from home now. It's good in a way, you get your rest. Xxx

Muriel84 · 03/09/2020 12:55

@Safxxx yup I’m definitely resting more! Been napping most days... I can’t wait to feel some regular movement. I’ve felt a little but I’m never 100% sure.

@BatmanBaby I got a few v cheap bits in the ASOS and top shop sale. I bought I few non-maternity clothes in a bigger size. I might go to primark to get some longish tops. I don’t want to spend much either but it’s hard when nothing fits! The maternity bra I bought lasted a week 🙄 xxx

Stef92 · 03/09/2020 13:45

@Safxxx I had the consultation appointment yesterday and there had been an error on my booking in appointment form (not filled out by me) that had me down as a high risk pregnancy despite scoring 0 on the risk assessment. My mam had high blood pressure when she was pregnant with me and had to finish work early for bed rest. it seems like whoever completed the booking in form put pre-eclampsia as what she had as they were trying to prescribe me aspirin but I got it sorted. Midwife 16 week consultation on Tuesday which is normal I think.

Safxxx · 03/09/2020 13:59

@Stef92 oh what a error, glad it's sorted. Was you told after the 20wk scan if you would see the midwife face to face? Or are these phone consultations going to carry on? Xx

@Muriel84 Hopefuly not long now we should start feeling more movements, the ones that leave no doubt lol. Xx

Stef92 · 03/09/2020 15:42

@Safxxx I've been told I will be seeing my midwife face to face on Tuesday for my first meeting with her.

Safxxx · 03/09/2020 16:29

@Stef92 👍🏼
I'll see what my midwife says next week over the phone.
But I have heard most likely they will see you after the 20wk scan not before.

FruitLoopyLoo · 03/09/2020 19:20

I've been lucky in that I've had all of my appointments face to face so far (16 week was 2 weeks ago and have another on Monday at the haemotology antenatal clinic due to a slightly reduced platelet count which I've always had).

I'm at St Mary's hospital though for all my care due to the previous issues in my other pregnancies so I'm guessing that's why. I'm not seen by the local midwife at the moment.

Stef92 · 03/09/2020 19:29

@Safxxx I guess it depends on your area, North Tyneside/Northumberland where I'm based seems to be ok for Covid at the moment which is why they've invited me to see my midwife in person next week.

ClockSpanner · 04/09/2020 17:39

Hi everyone, lovely reading all your baby news. I'm due number 3 on the 24th Feb but my other two were late so maybe it will end up a March baby instead but I'm hoping this one won't keep me waiting so long. I had a pretty bad bleed last week which has made me nervous but baby was ok in there when they scanned so trying to stay positive until the 20 week scan now which feels ages away!

Safxxx · 04/09/2020 19:02

@ClockSpanner Hi congrats ❤
I'm due 21st Feb, so we're quite close together if all goes well.
Try to rest more hope you don't get no more scares like that again, it can be quite worrying. Wishing you a healthy pregnancy🤰 Xxx

FruitLoopyLoo · 05/09/2020 09:26

Anyone else having problems with sciatica? Mine is getting worse and I struggle sleeping at night now. My left hip gets a horrible sharp pain and the skin goes completely numb as soon as I lie down.

I'm seriously considering paying to see a physio soon. It's horrible Sad

Muriel84 · 05/09/2020 09:47

@FruitLoopyLoo that sounds pretty horrible. I’ve never had nerve pain like that. Can you not get your GP or hospital to refer you rather than paying? Last time my GP referred me I was seen really quickly (less than a week) though that was pre Covid. Xxx

IamC · 05/09/2020 09:50

@FruitLoopyLoo I'm suffering from what must be sciatica but I'm not getting the shooting pain. It's localised to one butt cheek and it's the worst!

Bought a deep tissue massage machine then read it might be bad for baby so sent it back.

The things we go through for the little babas!

FruitLoopyLoo · 05/09/2020 09:54

I was going to book an appointment but tbh I imagine I won't get seen anytime soon, maybe by the GP but not by whoever I get referred to I bet Sad I'll give it a go though. If the wait time is anymore than a week though I think I'll have to pay as I can't cope with this for much longer! Driving me bonkers.

IamC, it's horrible isn't it! The shooting pain for me only started recently. Before that it was just uncomfortable when lying on that side and went numb. Now it hurts no matter which position I lie in 😤

Snorlax86 · 05/09/2020 09:57

@FruitLoopyLoo I’ve suffered with sciatica on and off for years so feel your pain. I used to see a chiropractor pre-covid which made such a difference but I haven’t been back since the end of Feb and have started to get pain again.

I hope everyone else is keeping well, the wait for 20 week scan feels so far away. I find myself wishing time away as this will be our first I just want it to be February already!

I also caved and got two outfits in the sale this week, I really had to stop myself from ordering everything, so much for wanting to wait until December!

Safxxx · 05/09/2020 12:57

@FruitLoopyLoo I've had sciatica in the past and during previous pregnancies.
At the moment I've got quite a bad lower back/pelvic and hip pain which goes into the buttocks. I'm easing it off with hot water bottles and plenty of rest, lying down really eases it off.
In the past I've got rid of any sciatica and back pains with wet cupping.
It's like after the session (couple of days later) I'm symptom free.
Look it up there's hijamist clinics around all areas, give it a try.
But do check if it's safe during pregnancy.
I've always had it done while I'm not pregnant.
I used to get headaches/neck pains/back pains, but all goes away after a session or 2. Xxx
Other then that have relaxing warm baths with a good muscle soak, use hot water bottles take rests. Also if you can get your partner to massage you with some good old warm Olive oil or a alternative oil. Warming it up realy helps more.
Which reminds me I need to get my hubby to massage me too 🤣
Hope you feel better soon Xx

Luc2 · 07/09/2020 11:05

Hello mums to be!
I’m new to this thread, due 25th Feb and am currently 15+4.

I had an early MMC in March and this is my first baby.

Feeling the usual anxiety wondering what’s going on as all my symptoms have gone (lucky me!) and I don’t really have a bump yet. I’m tall (5’11) and a size 12 usually so wonder whether the bump is just spread out more because of my height?! Sounds mad but I’m comparing 15 week bumps on photos online to mine and I really don’t have that much there yet.. it just gets your mind going that things aren’t going all as they should be..

But jeans are tight now and uncomfy to fasten up, and the boobs are still big so things are changing (I do also blame the lockdown laziness in part for clothes feeling tighter though..!)

Any thoughts from other ladies would be welcome! Xx

pampero · 07/09/2020 11:42

Hi @Luc2

Also a newbie to this thread (finally taking the plunge!) but our stories sound remarkably similar! This is also my first baby, I had a miscarriage in March and am now due on 22 Feb.

Definitely more paranoid this time around, but so far so good and fingers crossed, long may that continue. I'm 5' 7, so not as tall as yourself but not short either, usually a size 10, and my bump isn't really that noticeable at the moment, definitely doesn't look like some of the images you see online. Again, the jeans are tightening etc so it is growing and last week at my midwife appointment I heard the little heartbeat & midwife didn't seem to have any concerns. So I guess, whilst I'm no expert, I think this seems fairly normal for some :)

Safxxx · 07/09/2020 11:47

@Luc2 hi congrats ❤
I wouldn't worry about the bump yet, as your tall, and its your 1st baby you won't show till later.
I'm 5'7 I showed later on my first pregnancy and the weight went all over it was a girl.
With my other 2 I had boys and only had a tummy bump, ppl used to say we can t tell your in your late stages.
This time round I'm gaining weight all over again, tummy started sticking out earlier on, I'm a few days ahead of you.
Hopefully all goes well for you and you have a healthy pregnancy and birth ❤
